Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
Wayne Cubed replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
“Cole, we think you are worth about $3.5m next season” ”Well I think I’m still worth the $6.1m” ”More than happy for you to see if you can find that around the league” -
Spotrac spitballs C. Kirk & C. Williams to Bills
Wayne Cubed replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Think Kyle Allen and his GF were there as well? -
Nope.

It seriously might be. You have a chance to score 3 or 7, with plenty of time and you call that? And burn a TO for it? I actually thought both coaches called pretty horrible games. Sean McVay is SEVERELY overrated and is not even close to an offensive genius. He runs a worse version of Shanahans WCO.

2021 Bills ST coach Heath Farwell joins the Jags

That happened very quietly... -
How bad is it for Lesile Frazier?
Wayne Cubed replied to Marvlevydraftdaygenius's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot has to do with the Texans and the culture within the building currently. They aren't attracting high end candidates, not with Easterby there. I think this is more a move to stablize and be a placeholder really. -
Offseason Trade Prediction: We acquire Saquan
Wayne Cubed replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I agree with that but man a RB with speed that can run the wheel route and get YAC on check downs would really help the offense. Saying that, the Bills arent going after Barkley. -
Frazier getting second interview with Joe Schoen and NYG
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea, I think you can still apprecaite the work McD and Frazier put into this defense this year and still think they made some bad decsions in the KC game. I think the sceme is fine and the sceme still works against the moderrn NFL offense. They coached some really really good defensive performances this year. -
Well, I think Dan Hanzus summed up the season pretty well for me
Wayne Cubed replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's great we didn't lose because of Allen didn't have anyone to throw to. You do know we are going to be losing players on offense yes? We still could do with a better OL, yes? Just because Allen got it done doesn't mean we don't invest and make his life easier. There were plenty of games in the regular season where Allen had a down game and the offense needed a lift. We cannot just keep drafting and picking up defensive FAs just because we have Allen. -

We got into a shootout with Mahomes, that much is correct, and the Bills were winning with 13 seconds left. I'm sorry but do you think it was the players that lost the game in those 13 seconds? So yea, the defense was good enough and that was with our 2 All-Pro safeties, our 2 LBs and most of the DL playing piss poor. You should be blaming the coaching for the 13 seconds that lost the game. -

Wayne Cubed replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. We need a defense that is just good enough. Elite defesnes don't exist anymore. We can't just keep adding pieces to the defense while not giving Josh more help. And you can't do both nowadays. -
Would have been nice for someone, anyone to do that. Thought I'm not sure who decided on that defensive setup for those 13 seconds.

How many chances does McDermott have left?
Wayne Cubed replied to Igotbills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why does he need to explain what he’s going to do? Because fans are upset? Do you think his job is to appease the fans? I think at end of day, you either accept that McD is the type of coach that will make the necessary changes or you don’t. -

You think he owes you that? He said they didn’t execute. And then he said that’s on him but because he didn’t say it how you wanna hear it, it’s not good enough? -
McDermott end of season press conference
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who knows and at the end of the day he's at least admiting it's an f up and he is putting it on himself. He's saying execution comes down to him. That's fine with me. At least he's not up there saying, gee I didn't think about squib kicking... it never crossed my mind etc. -
McDermott end of season press conference
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? He doesn't have to. He's being ambigous while giving an answer and not throwing any specific person under the bus. What exactly will it do for him to admit it was Farwall or Bass fault? -
McDermott end of season press conference
Wayne Cubed replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Or Farwell. All he's saying is they didn't execute. That doesn't necessarily mean it was Bass. Could be the plan was to Squib, Farwell didn't relay it correctly. Failed execution. -
Oh, I agree with that completely. Problem is, that isn't anything specific to just a McD defense.
-
Here's where I'll aslo disagree a bit. I don't think McD's specific defensive coaching philosophy is bad. It works, as proven in many previous seasons and in this season as well. It confuses the hell out of QBs. No defensive strategy is perfect. If you are upset about what happened last night, I think that's more about McDs coaching style overall. It's certainly within a McD defensive scheme, to play more press man and jam receivers at the line. Unfortunately without Tre, that's a big ask on Dane Jackson. I just son't think you can do that. They could also apply more pressure on the QB in a McD defensive scheme. The gameplan wasn't to against Mahomes as he absolutely punishes teams for blitzing. I just don't think McD would give up critical defensive desicions, not to mention they've drafted guys for a McD defense. Take for example the 13 seconds last night, they could be running a Vic Fangio defensive scheme and McD could have still told Fangio to play soft, protect the sidelines and rush 4. And it still might have failed.
-
While I think it's a Vic Fangio is a very good DC, I just don't see it happening. McD doesn't run the same type of defense as Fangio and I'm not sure there's a coaching connection there.
-
Serious question for those who want McDermott replaced... what makes you think the Pegulas can find a coach who's better than McD? The Bills took long enough to find McD. Look how the Sabres rebuild is going. Look, if it gets to the point where McD is absolutely wasting Josh's talent ala Mike McCarthy in GB, then by all means find a new HC. I just don't think it's there quite yet.

I'm not mad at Levi Wallace on that play. He was doing what he was told to do. Again, question the coaching on that play. Why were the Bills protecting the sidelines at all? You protect the sidelines when the other team has no timeouts and needs a TD, not when they have 3 timeouts and need a FG. Just absolutely ridiculous defensive play calling. You should want the Chiefs to do a long preforming route that takes up time. Hell, you should also just tackle Kelce and Hill at the line, take the freaking holding penalty.
