  1. Meh, I'd love it if someone went over the top in praise of the Bills. Sadly, something of the kind has been missing for the better part of the past two decades. Oddly enough, the closest I get is the Belichick conference call each year. If I land from Mars and tuned into WGR, I'd bet the mortgage on the Bills based on his praise of Chris Kelsay.
  2. Yes, to go out and play a game. Many of these people fail at their "jobs" and are able to move on and get raises!! In the millions. Look at our head coach. When Joe Dirt fails at his sales job, his dismal sales history follows him around, and if he's lucky to land another gig, he's not getting a raise because the "market" says he should. People in professional sports are evaluated on a completely different set of criteria/guidelines/objectives. There are no ramifications for Rex dropping in on a conference call like there would be if I interrupted by boss while he was speaking to a potential client. The world of sports operates in its own unique bubble.
  3. Comparing sports to real life is stupid. Neither has any relevance to one another.
  4. Hughes' roughing penalty on Palmer was one of the few times I didn't freak out at him for a dumb penalty. It was a bit unfortunate...tighten up your strap Carson.
  5. He should be killed. No trial, no jury, straight to execution.
  6. You're missing the point, Gay shouldn't be on the roster anyways. Touch backs are less valuable than ever with the 25yd rule. Why are we keeping a kick off specialist when the rules blatantly suggest one is unnecessary?? Stupid.
  7. Trust me, John's been watching for 17 years. The bed time/mother's basement thing is a bit stale, but whatever.
  8. It's quite amazing. Most WRs that don't get the ball usually pout and skimp on the other facets of the position (like blocking). To is credit, he's turned into a damn fine blocker as you point out.
  9. TBH, his bane is them damn white lines that run the length of the field.
  10. Still Brady. Although past couple of weeks have only confirmed my opinion that the Bills have been going up against the best HC AND QB of all time for the past 15 years. Just read a great article (maybe on MMQB) that talked about how opposing coaches have all said Gronk is the smartest TE they've ever faced.
  11. Yes and yes. There is no doubt TT is a limited player who doesn't use the entire field. Was Roman the root cause of this? Obviously not. Did he take the necessary steps to correct this? Who knows...My lame-ass hypothesis is that he knew his QB was limited, and he game-planned around it to bad results (this season, at least). Depending on who you ask, that's either on him or TT. Considering Whaley's entire career is wrapped up in the Watkins trade, we can assume Roman had almost no support from the FO. Sadly, Roman's firing probably has less to do with the actual football being played, and more with the self-preservation tactics of a misguided football operation.
  12. Is staying with something that is having minimal success a good sign?
  13. She's right. It was a bold act of self preservation. Didn't think he had it in him.
  14. Good post overall. One minor point. I thought Darby was pants all game. He made a couple breakups on some of Fitz's ducks, but overall a very poor game. His saving grace was the performance of the guy on the other side of the field..which brings us to Gilmore. I still think Gilmore is a good corner. But he's a confidence player. If things start out right, he'll be in lockdown mode all game. Some early adversity like the (phantom) penalty and missed tackle, and he seems unable to set his mind straight. In short, he doesn't seem to possess the "short memory" needed to play the position. This will be a problem moving forward.
  15. Why are all the sports writers at the BN fat and slovenly? TG is like Arnold circa Conan mid-80s compared to the rest of them, and he's rocking a heavy double-chin. That's what I gleaned from the article.
  16. I feel like we've practiced that play 10x more than throwing slants to Sammy.
  17. I thought the same thing. Didn't see kick to head even though he patted it on the way off.
  18. Agreed. A crap call and missed tackle kept it alive. Other than that, D didn't give them crap.
  19. See, this is funny. Cancer is never cool. Nor funny. Poop is always gold.
