    The Ray Lewis/TO comparison is interesting. There's certainly a case to be made that there are crimes/personalities the NFL is ok with, and others they're not.

    No doubt they do. And thankfully so. I guess my point was, I hadn't realized regionalization was such a dirty word.

    How is this any different from their plan over the past 10 years, and the foreseeable future? The Bills likely don't exist w/o Ontario and Rochester. I guess I'm not picking up on the parochial nature of Erie County residents you speak off.

    I hope so, but not likely. Saban's probably got the campus and local police on payroll. At the state level, now we're talking about alumni. State reps/senate prob all alumni too. The good ole boy network is strong in Bama. Watch out for the governor, though....War Eagle.

    You're partly right on Franken, but he's not celebrated. Maybe scapegoated. Conversely, Stern seems to have graduated from the basement to the adult step pretty gracefully. He's as mainstream as you can get.

    He always enjoyed his Starbucks with Russ! I liked how much it amused him there was a bar called Thirstys next to a resto called Hungrys.

    A good friend who worked there. Also, when we moved back to Buffalo, a recruiter helping my wife find a new job made a similar comment. Obviously the recruiter has bias, but it was an unprompted comment per my wife.

    From what I've heard about the work atmosphere at New Era, Russ would've fit in well.

    The Bills got a sweet deal from New Era given market size and the nominal (if any) return these companies see on their investment. The Bills won't be saying much IMO.
