  1. He reminds me of Andre Smith with only a C cup. Seriously though, he looks like he can absolutely dominate at times if the ball is around him, but shows no effort when it comes to pursuing plays sideline to sideline and down field.
  2. I'll preface my comment by saying I'm not a huge Cam Newton fan. But I've watched enough of him this year to realize he is no Jamarcus Russell. They guy wins games whether it's with his arm or feet. Straight baller. Can he run a NFL offense, I wouldn't bet on it. But he's a gamer.
  3. Cause our FO put him in lose-lose situation w/o the right personnel. He deserves a pass for a lot of the ills this unit had. I was actually impressed with some of the half-time adjustments he made later in the year. He's not elite, but give him a chance.
  4. Thanks Bill. Good insight. I thought McKelvin actually had decent coverage on the TD, though. No biggie. I am ready to move on from every other bust from previous regimes except him. I suppose it's because I've seen him make plays before. And no, Donte's pick verse TB two years ago on a screen pass which fell right into his hands does not count as making a play. Leodis deserves another year, but he seems not to have learned much in his time here.
  5. I saw a game a few weeks ago where a certain HOF QB got knocked out and if he had played, I felt much more comfortable winning then when his backup was in the game.
  6. uhhhhh? Because the snow melted?
  7. Well reasoned. It's been kind of lost in all the shuffle, but this team is once again decimated by injuries. No offense should be counted on to score points when only one of your top five WRs is healthy. Starting C out, a who's who of misfits out on the right side of the line. Yes our defense sucked today, but this is hardly a news flash. Look to the draft and have dreams of Fairley and Bowers. This game meant nothing.
  8. Sweet, thanks. I was actually glued to the tele when Carson was driving that last 45sec because I thought that was our only chance at the #2.
  9. ...Anyone who touches me, or my things, I'll kill ya...
  10. I knew you were just British.
  11. So true. He's done nothing. But when someone's one-the-field performance doesn't meet their personal standards, they go after the most minuscule of things to call out and deride. My favorite are the tweets that someone must follow to receive.
  12. Just heard both will be sitting.
  13. He's looked good so far, I guess I forgot Bama runs a 3-4 too. Helps w/ the armchair evaluation a bit. As far as Bowers is concerned, I seriously doubt one average game will have any impact on the stellar season he has put together and his subsequent draft status. It has been, and should continue to be, a toss-up between him and Fairley for the 1st DL drafted.
  14. I seriously doubt he'll be completely done w/ football. But if he is, he'll have 15million bucks to help him decide his next career.
  15. Amen. WR is one position we can sit tight at for a year and not make any drastic, "this guy is different, hence he must be better" changes.
  16. I think you inadvertently pointed out that it would be extremely counterproductive to go back to the 4-3. We're already a FA and a draft into the 3-4 regime. It would reverse a lot of the gains many of the younger player(s)(Moats) made this season. Even when the Bill's coaches point out the switch back to the 4-3 later into the season, they say something along the lines of "bringing the OLB up to the line w/ 3 down-lineman." It appears they still label/consider Kelsay an OLB.
  17. So true. I think with the exception of maybe his first two years in the league, he was on the 1st team all-defensive squad every year he played (Wizards Jordan aside).
  18. There's a great section in Bill Simmons new book about this. Apparently Jordan was Jordan in college but Dean Smith never let him be. There's also a great little story about Jordan going to the '84 Olympics practices and absolutely destroying everyone to the point Bobby Knight called a friend in the Trailblazers FO office and begged him to pick him. This has nothing to do w/ the Bills, just interesting because I too thought it took a year or two for him to blossom into the superstar he is synonymous with.
  19. Yeah, except Stevie would have never seen the field given how Bryant would very likely have beaten him out for the #2 spot. Then we'd never had seen what he could do with more playing time. Taking Spiller was smarter in this regard, because we've evaluated a previous question mark on our roster leading into the season. I like the NC guys. Carter and Sturdivant(sp) are another two guys I am interested in. I think if that entire defense played together, there's be a lot more buzz surrounding all of them.
  20. Doesn't he have a rather weak arm? Not that it matters, but I'm just wondering if it was you or the NFL Network that said this.
  21. Whatever man. I didn't think someone would get pissed off disagreeing about this topic. I merely disagreed with your statement "As for SportsCenter anchors? Forget it. Their bosses are WELL aware of the small army lined up to take that job, and they're paid accordingly." Whether your Keith Olbermann or a newer guy, they all make big money. Have a great day.
  22. Good for him. Something tells me he'll be making the trip to Hawaii.
  23. Dominant is a bit strong. Bulaga is starting by attrition as well. They both wouldn't have upgraded our team more than Spiller. I think the jury is out on all three. Here's a few snippets from a recent article on Davis... My link Davis acknowledges his own first year has been humbling. It was the worst game of the season for Davis, who has become a symbol of the 49ers' inconsistent offensive line. Davis has six false starts this season. The only players with more are Baltimore's Michael Oher (eight), Indianapolis' Ryan Diem (eight), Minnesota's Phil Loadholt (seven) and Tennessee's Jake Scott (seven) The 49ers are among the worst pass protectors in the league, according to the New York
  24. Correct. CBs look a lot better when WRs don't have 8 seconds to run around and get open.
