  1. Amen to that. Unless he steps into the void, our defense will continue to be sub-par with Williams as NT. That's no knock on KW, the man just can't do it all. He reeks most of his havoc when he gets to shoot gaps and penetrate.
  2. Maddow was actually funny on Maher last week. Surprised me a bit because I think she plays it a bit too close to the vest IMO.
  3. You're forgetting the best player(s) Buffalo sports teams have are their doctors. People said Timmy C wouldn't play again, he does. They said Kevin Everett wouldn't walk again, he does. They saved the hockey player a year or two back when he cut his jugular. This should be minor compared to those. I don't know where he said it, but Merriman said the training staff found what the problem was with the Achilles and he'll be full go come training camp. Now we don't have premier rushers off the edge, or elite shutdown corners, but at least our medical staff is top notch.
  4. I like Sheppard a lot. Don't know where he'll go, but he weighed in at 250 at the Senior Bowl.
  5. Amazing that people still compare him to Maybin after production like you mention. Body size is the only similarity, and they're not even that close (he's about 2" shorter then Maybin.) Reports also say he has been above average in pass drills this week too. This is also before he begins an NFL weight regimen like all prospects begin now to prep for the combine. Maybin weighed 249 at the combine after those freakish before and after pics we all remember seeing (and saying that something wasn't right). He can reasonably add a few more lbs and not fool scouts into thinking he "has the frame to grow." The hate for this kid has been too unjustified.
  6. Exactly my feeling as well. Rounds 2-7 turn into need picks w/ special emphasis on LBs, RT, and DL.
  7. Love it! Quick points...The spike at 2:25 is a 15yder for taunting today, very bad-azz. And the call at 4:40, is that Marv Albert? I forgot he did football.
  8. Yeah. I'm holding onto some false hope that he goes to Denver. But you're probably right.
  9. Sounds about right. Seeing what will happen w/ Stroud will be a major storyline come training-camp I think.
  10. Don't want to piss in your morning coffee, but Edwards is probably a lock to start at one of the DE positions. He was our big FA signing, and while not great, did nothing to deserve to get cut.
  11. McShay earlier noted that Locker hit all of his throws today with the exception of one. I agree that accuracy is not one of his strengths, but I'm interested to see his full scouting report come Saturday after the game.
  12. I'm cool with the slower rebuilding process of Buddy and Co. I'm also of the camp that thinks the Bills roster is too deficient of talent to make a push at a WC next year. But I truly believe if you added those three players, combined with a quality RT and another LB in the draft, 8-9 wins is totally possible.
  13. Looks like all of the LT/RT talent is on the opposition. This will be a good test for Miller. As far as his weight, 240lb I believe, I think he looks fine. Like I've posted before, he wears those stupid corner-back pads that make him look a lot smaller then he is.
  14. That would be awesome. I've tabbed him as priority number one in this off-season. Of course, I'm already resigned to the fact he might be too expensive and doesn't fit into Buddy'd FA approach. This coupled with the fact there seems to be an inordinate amount of "Rex's players would take a bullet/follow him to hell" talk for their head coach of late. I don't see too many guys leaving there unless someone overpays big-time (Washington style). It'll all come down to whether or not he is in the Jets future with Holmes and Edwards FAs as well. I'm hoping a higher round pick, even back into the 1st for a ILB, would be clutch. Hopefully this is where Wanny can help identify talent/have his voice heard.
  15. My bad. I should have clarified about him playing in the NFL. I figured you would have assumed that's what I was saying. I just think it's ridiculous to call someone a bust when they haven't played a snap in the NFL yet. And it's easy to call out the draft guys for missing on a high-profile prospect here or there. I'll still trust their judgment over the scouting you did over the course of a few games where it's very likely you missed intricate details will eating cheetos and grabbing a cold beer.
  16. I didn't realize he was playing already...
  17. Something tells me he will be responsible for the overall defensive scheme ala Gailey on Offense. Like Modkins, Edwards may just have the title of coordinator.
  18. Yeah, I remember a lot of speculation at the time regarding us sending a CB to them for him. Just didn't know if a trade/picks were confirmed. No worries, it would be interesting if the trade went through because of his potential IMO. I was just asking about the term because it was a funny definition when I went and looked it up.
  19. Did we ever even offer a pick for Gaither? I hadn't heard that. As far as injuries are concerned, this is his first to my knowledge. Attitude seems to be the big red flag. Did you mean slacker? There are some funny definitions for the term (slagger) in Urban Dictionary.
  20. I'm cool with it. He would be classified as a value/need pick because his stock is likely to tumble a bit due to these concerns. UNC. Including Quinn, Sturdivant, and Carter, there's a lot to like there.
  21. "To acquire Sanchez, the Jets traded their first- and second-round choices (17 and 52), plus three marginal players - defensive end Kenyon Coleman, quarterback Brett Ratliff and safety Abram Elam." Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2009/04/25/2009-04-25_jets_trade_up_and_take_usc_qb_mark_sanchez_with_fifth_overall_pick.html#ixzz1BVBT0dro The reason I post this is because I think the draft/points chart is outdated and this helps prove it. Teams are willing to make trades given many circumstances including how many picks they have, if players are included, the desirability of a given player.
  22. I hear ya it will probably turn some fans off, but they said the same thing about Fitzgerald when he was coming out. What they do both have in common, is every other necessary skill to succeed at the position, and moreover, the propensity to run every single route in the play book. This would be a nice change of pace having your #1WR do that.
  23. Really? I'm all for a signature FA signing, but let's be realistic.
