  1. You do realize that Sam Bradford had his reads called into him after his coaches analyzed the defensive formation before the ball was snapped. They actually told him where to throw the ball. There's a lot of crap college QBs have to re-learn in the pros, just as there's a lot of bad habits they have to drop. This is hardly news worthy, but it seems like you're expecting a prospect w/o any flaws whatsoever.
  2. That's my impression as well. If "we" got 1/2 the production from Fairley compared to Suh we'd all be pumped. The character/too light slights being levied against him are reminiscent of past drafts when highly talented players were passed up because of combine results and other misguided concerns.
  3. I generally agree w/ your draft insight, but feel Miller is going to be better than Houston. No knock on Houston, I like him. If you had to compare him to a current pro, who would he be?
  4. I could definitely live with this. I would take Shepperd over Carter if he's still on the board though. Hypothetically, that would give the Bills three starters from their first three picks.
  5. I agree. His frame lends himself to running, something he did exclusively at Nevada. And as CJ Spiller proved, you can't run around everyone in the NFL. Von Miller actually caught him in space twice at the Senior Bowl. I find it ironic people are willing to overlook someone like Kaperneck's mechanics (which resemble Vince Young), but will condemn Locker who actually made huge strides w/ his mechanics and accuracy at the combine. To each their own, I suppose.
  6. Not really. He's not the same player he was 3 years ago, but then again, who is. He still gets it done. We'll never have to worry about him coming back to the Bills because he's already stated he wants to go after a ring in the next season or two before he hangs em up for good.
  7. Not being pessimistic, just replying to another posters love of a player. As for him being one of out best FAs, Poz and Whitner are more integral to the team IMO. As you point out, he's probably a backup. Love the signing, though!
  8. Yeahhh, now we can start two free safeties. I know you love him more than any other player, but he is not a strong safety. I like him too as a backup however. Never thought I'd say this, but Bob Sanders would be perfect now. I'd have no problem with Wilson having to come into SS, but to leave the position open is another case of 'the Bills thinking they're smarter' then everyone else. Dammit, I really like Wilson too... Something tells me I'll be the only one who feels this way. C'est la vie.
  9. It would be funny if we picked him up and he had 10 sacks next year alongside Maybin who rebounds with two sub-par years, who contrubutes 71/2 of his own. Of course this doesn't hold a match to Merriman's 19 en route to Def. Player of the Year honors. No, I am not stoned.
  10. Props to you on your analysis on Ayers. Not to make too much out of the combine, but it appears your misconceptions regarding him proved to be right. I'm hearing he might slip to he second now.
  11. You seem really set on having Wilson start at SS. I suppose he's played it a bit in the past, but I really think you're overvaluing him way too much. You'll see when he makes Donte's 5yd down-the-field-tackles after 6yds though. He should be resigned for depth, not to start side-by-side with another FS.
  12. I like both Sturdivant and Carter, but they're both kind of small. Not to be a size Nazi, but I think they played less then 230lb. Skill trumps size IMO. Still kinda small.
  13. You think he'll actually get jumped by Jones? I was surprised by how well he ran, while Green ran what was expected by most. It seemed the scouts didn't think his times hurt him. As for Jones, I still think Green is the better/safer pick, but I did Julio abuse Peterson when they played during the fall. It was impressive.
  14. I'd kill for that draft. Seriously, those are three guys that could change the fortunes of the defense after 1 year of experience. I still think QB #1, though. Weird, sneaking suspicion it will be Gabbert.
  15. Yessir. I agree. In regards to the mock, getting Ayers in the 2nd would be a coup.
  16. Couldn't agree more. Wouldn't touch him with that pick. Besides, we'll have a QB already at that point. Surprised to hear you say that. So you won't touch Locker because of accuracy issues which can be corrected, but you call a huge character risk (and very immobile) QB a no-brainer? Interesting.
  17. I think it just boils down to the elite measurables that Gabbert and Newton have. Ponder and Dalton's stock have both risen to where they should be 2nd picks IMO. As for Gabbert, I think he's interviewed well thus far even though PFT's Florio thought it was borderline cocky when he stated he was the best QB in the draft. Me? I could care less and would hope he'd think that. I'm cool with the pick if the Bill's think he's the one. A year behind Fitz and Gailey rolls into year three with his and Nix's regime QB behind an improving offense and defense. Realistically, I think we're an 8-8 team by then w/ a solid o-iine to protect the franchise QB this pick has to nail if they go that route. I'm pumped!! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/25/blaine-gabbert-bangs-his-own-gong/
  18. That's too bad, he would have been a great QB to "groom as a backup." The guy has a career ahead of him as an analyst though. He was great during the ESPN's championship coverage. Guarantee it, after his pro career, you'll see him behind the desk/in the booth.
  19. Good stuff jboyst62. I'm thinking QB at 3. Also, and this sucks, I think he thinks the Oline might be set with the competition for the right side of the line coming from Pears, Urbik, and Hang (assuming Wood goes to C). I suppose that means more defense which is hardly a bad thing however. Good quote on Newton. Not an overreaction, but firmly suggesting the need for him to know PRO football. It'll be interesting to see how Cam takes to Chan's questioning. Personally, I think Gabbert will excel in this area much more than Newton.
  20. FWIW, according to NFL Live, Shockey said he is already taking a physical w/ an unspecified team. He wouldn't say who.
  21. Not really. Just because he was next to someone who was smoking does not mean he was "linked to it just as much." Big difference IMO. Stealing laptops however, is just plain stupid. I'm a Cam supporter, but this is a huge red flag that will need an A+ answer at the combine. Maybe someone will give it to him.
  22. Yeah, that they cut Shockey. Isn't it a red flag that good teams feel as if they are better off without him?
