  1. 1) Why would you move Levitre? He's been our best OLineman the past two seasons. 2) Not singling you out because I know a lot of people are very high on Moffit. But why is this guy a 4-6rd grade when everyone here says how beast the guy is? Sounds like his lack of athleticism will hurt him at the next level. I think Carimi might have been the one making Moffit look better. No? 3) Sherrod would be nice at 34. Need+value=awesome selection.
  2. 1. Aside from elite level arm strength and very, very good mobility, not to mention prototypical size and measurables, sure Clausen and Gabbert are the same... Sometimes I overlook stupid comments like these, but how the heck are they similar? Clausen had an average arm, mobility issues, and character Q's. Also, spell people names correct. It's not difficult. 2. So could Gabbert.
  3. Clay Matthews Jr. just did an appearance. Where does he fit in your pantheon of "serious football players"
  4. Thank you for pointing this out. It seems a lot of the music critics here failed to release this.
  5. Yup. That's why I wouldn't be that pissed off if they decide to pick something other than DL w/ their 1st pick considering the depth of the position. I could live w/ Peterson knowing that there will be a 1st rd talent that slips to us.
  6. I came to the board right around/after the infamous Skooby. I remember seeing a lot of the backlash against him, seemingly well-deserved. Can anyone give me a brief refresher on what he did to piss the entire board off?
  7. Ha, that's BS. Go look at Gabbert's stats his Soph. year and tell me he was an unknown. You can hate on him, fine, but he was hardly an unknown.
  8. Indeed. And if as a Bill's fan you don't like Miller or Bowers (assuming they are the two highest rated pass rushers on the boards of the venerable TBD posters), then think what Fairley or Dareus can do for the DE/OLBs by providing pressure up the middle w/ Kyle Williams.
  9. He could be, but he also runs the risk of even missing more time as a result of a work stoppage. Could be a year and a half before he gets real coaching again. Still reminds me a lot more of Gholston than Miller does. Not high on him, but wouldn't surprise me if we take him.
  10. This is a bit presumptuous, no? You can tell whether or not Dareus will have weight problems in just two years. Have you seen how he moves? Not like a fat man. Also, go look at Quinn's workout numbers. They compare very favorably to Gholston's. Especially his shuttle and cone drills which measure an individual's ability to change direction quickly. Those who can't (Gholston), get the moniker "tight in the hips."
  11. Good points. I suppose some might argue that lineman make the LBs, but there is no hiding that our LBs suck.
  12. But I love the product they offer. I don't like a lot of the way businesses are run, but I overlook these inadequacies because some things are essential. Football is one of these. Considering you post on a fan board, I would think it plays a somewhat prominent role in your life as well. Also, not to nitpick (but because you did), wouldn't it be "so damn dumb?"
  13. Well said. I love it how people feel slighted because FA didn't start yet. Really, the only thing the lockout has done is made the inevitable "Buddy sucks, Ralph is cheap" thread a non-issue. This is probably a good thing. Before anyone cries foul against the NFL and suggest a grassroots boycott, just remember you'll be back in your seat/on your couch the moment the season resumes w/ no ill will to speak of.
  14. His point was that he wants to buy his seasons due to losing his seat/seniority. It was written very clear. I don't want to punish the players or the owners. They both have interests they are trying to protect. Don't tell me not to watch my favorite team because of a work stoppage that is 24hrs old either. This affects me in no way, shape, or form. Go Bills.
  15. Quinn vs. Gholston Miller vs. Vernon Gholston 6'4" vs 6'3" Height 6'3" vs. 6'3" Height 265 vs 260 Weight 246lbs vs 260lbs Weight 4.67 vs 4.58 40yd dash 4.46 vs. 4.58 40yd dash x.xx vs 1.53 10 yd split x.xx vs 1.53 10 yd split 22 vs 37 225# bench reps 21 vs 37 bench reps @ 225lbs 34" vs 41" vertical 37" vs 41" verticle jump 9'8"" vs 10'5" broad jump 10'6" vs 10'5" broad jump 20 yard shuttle - 4.06 for Miller, 4.40 for Gholston, 4.40 for Quinn 3 Cone Drill - 6.70 for Miller, 7.12 for Gholston, 7.13 for Quinn 10yd drill is indicative of reaction time and explosion, but no OLB is running 10 yards in a straight line especially in terms of pass rushing. Gholston's poor showings in the 3 cone and Short Shuttle showed a lack of short sharp change of direction skills, a lack of short area quickness and tightness around the midsection that meant he was never really a good "bender" around the corner and struggled to run the arc. I have seen similar from Quinn, and his Shuttle and 3 cone times are eerily similar. Got some of this info from another message board that what debating the merits of taking Miller high. Essentially, if you're worried about an extremely athletic guy that's tight in their hips a la Gholston, you should worry more about Quinn.
  16. Simply not true. He has a 25-1 record as a college QB. Some of these came at the JC level, but if you're going to chide this, remember Aaron Rodgers came from JC as well. Why? Because 6'6" QBS with great mobility and a strong arm who won in the toughest conference in college grow on trees?
  17. Perhaps, but I'd say they're the deepest which makes it less necessary to take one early if Buddy and Co. aren't sold on that particular lineman. It's very likely 1st rd. defensive talent will be available when we pick at 34.
  18. Yeah, because DT/DEs are the safest pick in the draft...
  19. I love Gabbert and want him at #3, but this is something I've heard in many publications. No biggie, like I've stated many times before, no prospect is perfect. All require a bit off habit-dropping and re-coaching.
  20. I was hoping someone would see the sarcasm in the list. It comprises all the ridiculous ideas people come up w/ for these lists. 1) Sign FA that Bill have no hope of getting (Nnamdi) 2) Sign mobile QB (Vince Young) 3) Sign Oakland Olineman (Langston) 4) Sign FA just because I've heard of him (McIntosh) 5) Sign high-profile player and have him switch position (Haynesworth) The rest were just ridiculous suggestions meant to get us through a time of year where there are many ridiculous suggestions of the type. Thank god I didn't choose stand-up.
  21. Here's my list, 1) Albert Haynesworth-I know, I know, he's not a free agent but can you imagine him playing DE? I Think he just needs "a change of scenery" 2) Vince Young-Chan loves a mobile QB, right? Character issues are overblown. 3) Matt Leinart- Provide competition at QB. which makes me think of Reggie Bush got cut, imagine him and Spiller in the same backfield. Opposing defenses would have fits...) 4) Santonio Holmes-Our passing attack would be lethal. Then we could trade Lee for like a 3rd and a 5th to trade back up into the 1st for a CB. 5) Langston Walker-Depth, plus second times a charm. 6) Nnamdi Asomugha-Ralph isn't cheap, he'll prove it by outbidding the Jets in a bitter contest over his services. 7) Rocky McIntosh-I've heard of him, so it might not be a bad thing. We probably won't get all of the them, but 3-4 of these guys would be a huge upgrade IMO.
  22. I'd like Acho, but isn't Herzlich really, really slow? Not that he doesn't have a reason, but still a red flag for me.
