  1. Perhaps. I know Buddy said the probability of trading down is slim, but if the offer is too good and Arizona really wants Gabbert I'd say their 2nd and 5th would do the trick.
  2. I agree, I would just bring in an UFA to do so. I think only one or two punters ever get picked, something we don't have the luxury of doing. Insofar as Moorman is concerned, a little competition never hurt anybody.
  3. Bingo. Chan and Buddy will give everyone a fair shake. Both are smart enough to realize the deficiencies the defense had to overcome in year one of a major scheme change. All of your points are valid, none more then #6.
  4. A great thread hijacked by a pissy back n' forth about whether or not George Edwards is better than Chuck Weis.
  5. Well that pretty much answers my question about not taking Danny Watkins or Ben Ijalana in the 3rd.
  6. It's weird, because both John and you are correct. This draft is ridiculously deep at positions of need, yet there is the inevitable fear of past failures that makes one cautiously optimistic at best. Gabbert has got some serious wheels though, so the swiss cheese line wouldn't be as bad w/ him there. Also, one has to remember that whatever QB we take is going to sit a year behind Fitz. This is actually a good thing from an Oline perspective because of the young talent we have up front. It gives them a year to get better, and hopefully add a quality RT via FA (whenever it begins) or the draft.
  7. yeah, it's definitely crazy. I think either a 1st or a 2nd round pick will suffice though.
  8. Yup, good point. Inner-bicep tattoos hurt like hell I'm told though, so good luck. I actually commented on his other tattoo he got on the other bicep of the Buckeye and #20. He replied back and was real cool about. Amazing how he reacts to fans who don't go on Twitter with the sole intention of ragging on him 24/7. People can complain all they want, but the Bill's are a better team w/ him than w/o him.
  9. I agree. I don't see Nelson w/ his speed opening up whichever side of the field he lines up on however much we all like him. Keep him in the middle with Roscoe and let Chan find mismatches on slower LBs and smaller CB/S. With that said, the man should be fluent in all routes--short or long--at this point in his career. Sounds like the prior coaching staff was fine with having Lee as a one trick pony. Also, I wouldn't object if Lee actually dove for a pass once in a while.
  10. Well, do you want the HOFers or just the really good ones? HOFers (and future) that go by the name of Elway, S. Young, Aikmen, and Favre. Not to mention other winners like Plunkett, Simms, Theismann, Warner, Brees, Rodgers, and Big Ben. I think out of the second list Warner is borderline, while the last three (Brees and Big Ben probably in) have very good chances if their careers continue on with success. Ha you beat me to it.
  11. Ahhhh, where have I seen this before. History would say otherwise. And it hurt even more with Cassel beating us. I actually disagree. Moss/historic numbers aside, their offense was arguably just as good this past season. It was efficient as hell. Still have an All Pro at G, two good tackles (one young), and numerous weapons that BB uses to exploit other teams.
  12. Since you've decided to repost your past comments to prove you foresight and supreme eye for talent, we should all use Von Miller as the bar for this season. If I'm correct, you pretty much thinks he'll suck because he weighs 245 and can't stop the run (allegedly) due to your scouting of YouTube videos. Let's revisit this in December.
  13. I'm pretty sure you know he meant their 1st pick in the 2012 draft.
  14. I tend to agree with most of what you have wrote. However, the Bill's have made two concerned attempts to improve their oline, so heralding the "stop-gap/another team's castoff" line is a bit misguided. The first of these of course were the big FA signings of Dockery and Walker, the second came with the drafting of Wood and Levitre. The 1st was an epic fail, the jury on the second is still out. I would think we'll have a much better idea of how Bell and Wood are after a year of strength training coming off the injury. Levitre is solid, and actually was our best lineman last year. Right tackle is very weak. You're right, and now with Wood probably being shifted to center, it leaves the right side of our line in a state of flux. I agree Urbik, Wrotto, Pears, Hangartner, and Wang are not the solution. Solid depth perhaps, but not the type of starters that can allow an offense to excel.
  15. I haven't seen anything regarding these changes. Just the debate concerning kickoff changes. NFL Network's Jason La Confora writes the league will try to "eradicate the most egregious types of hits to the head, putting in specific language with regards to a player "launching" himself into the head and neck area of another player." This is still subjective on the part of the officiating crew though.
  16. What rule change did I miss that will turn the NFL into the Arena League?
  17. I was going to write almost verbatim what you laid out above. Well stated. 1. Played w/ cracked ribs for a portion of the season I believe 2. Since people always point out his bad games, go look at his comeback win against USC this year. Played great w/ a heavy pass rush and on the last few drives, had WRs drop key passes. 3. Yup, I think with a year on the sidelines, he would be where Fitz is already. That's not a knock on Fitz, either. Stronger arm, better athlete, just the accuracy issue.
  18. The Bills have only picked three times inside the top 10 over the last 10 year BTW. 9, 11, 11, 12, 8, 55, 13, 23, 4, and 21
  19. True, but you can insert any 2010 team and Nebraska killed em. I have no clue why they weren't better. Good fact. I agree. Plus Quinn is weak.
  20. Consistently misspelling a name while driving home a point is more annoying to me then a random grammatical SNAFU. But thanks for pointing it out to me. Fair enough. Nebraska made a lot of good QBs look shaky, a credit to their coaching staff and team. As far as Gabbert's stats, check out his Sophomore year. Those numbers better reflect his skill/potential to succeed in the NFL. My biggest worry concerning him is his drop-off from Soph to Junior year. The majority of the elite prospects this year had a so-so Soph year followed by a big Junior year. Gabbert is the exact opposite.
