  1. Agreed on Florence. I think a 3 year contract is sufficient for his age. Hopefully the core of Mckelvin, McGee, Florence, Corner, and Williams will be good enough to get through the year.
  2. Not bad, I agree on most. DL-Dareus-Williams-Edwards LB-Merriman-Sheppard-Poz-Kelsay CB-McGee-Florence (McKelvin at Nickle, Williams at Dime) S-Byrd-Wilson
  3. According to Buddy, very high priority. One of our LBs ended the longest QB starting streak of all-time... Could be wrong, but pretty sure this was all Chan. When has guard become a high priority but RT isn't? Williams is a CB, yes. Byrd and Wilson play S. Not seeing where your going w/ this. Searcy plays S too.
  4. No worries, I wasn't saying it was you. I remember before the draft some posters had expressed doubt about taking him because he's a large man with a smile that somehow reminded them of Mike Williams.
  5. Amen. I was thinking the Big Bust because he's fat and smiles a lot. He reminds me of Mike Williams...
  6. Not a bad idea, just don't see him being a backup to a guy like Fitz.
  7. Negative. Those were flickers from a lighter as he took a bong rip.
  8. It is totally possible. It is also totally possible that many viewed Newton a once-in-a-generation type prospect too enticing to pass up. Its also totally possible, and w/ evidence to prove it, that John Fox sandbagged Jimmy Clausen with an offense that made Jauron's look aggressive. Fox had no motive to develop or cater any personnel sets to his QBs strengths. He's worth taking a look at if other options don't present themselves.
  9. Not to mention Moats, Nelson, and even Batten if we're gonna expect anything from Easley. No one (sorry Moats fans)aside from Nelson was a statistical contributor last season. I've got a weird hunch though this draft will end up being pretty solid. Some production this season will go a long way in making me not look like an idiot...
  10. Actually, what makes the SEC so good is that the defenses are lights out compared to the rest of the conferences. Teams actually put more than one CB into a draft year after year. Players are, on average, (and I'm sure someone will dispute this, but what the hell) bigger, faster, and stronger in the SEC. And tell me you wouldn't take Cutler or either Manning in a heartbeat.
  11. That's why he said "I think." Also, its easy to speculate because of the new influx of talent, the poor talent we have, and the possible exit of FA talent that might leave the team.
  12. Love it, just would prefer Watt or Jordan at 8. Perhaps a bit high, but something tells me they fit the Bill's defense pretty well.
  13. This will sound weird, but glad we lost against KC and Chicago, pissed we lost against BMore and Pittsburgh. Probably makes little sense, but beating the big guys is better then KC or even Chicago who I expect to beat.
  14. He has a cannon. Nobody ever claimed SB. Just a bit of praise for extra work. You brought in the "spoiled brat argument" because you compare pro-athletes to people who work ordinary jobs. Your the naive one to compare these two in the first place.
  15. I think he ran like a 4.59 at the combine. Seems a bit slow to play safety in the NFL. Regardless, no point in arguing over Urlacher cause I'm sure we's both love him in a Bill's uni.
  16. 1)McGee was hurt, yes, but has been a good investment considering his play over the years. Hopefully he is healthy and can rebound to solidify what is a thin position depth-wise. 2)Merriman was paid like 2mil last year, the new contract was signed in the off-season. So you're wrong. 3) Hangartner hasn't been horrible like you state. He's a 2mil per season interior lineman, not an all-pro making 6mil a year. 4)Reggie Corner, see depth statement. Least of my worries. JMO
  17. It didn't have anything to do with his lack of NFL level speed?
  18. That's a stupid way of quantifying his production. It's like saying Quinn averaged 6 sacks over the past two season of football. We all know Merriman didn't play hardly any football over the past two seasons. Also, if you think he's earned a starting spot unconditionally because of his 4 game resume, well, that's scary considering we might be drafting another OLB in the first few rounds.
  19. That's what I was thinking but I'm bad at detecting it. Go Bills!
  20. Who do you mean? My sarcasm detector is weak at best so I can't decipher. Eugene Monroe was already drafted if that's who you mean, but Long is 10x the player he'll ever be anyway.
  21. Well, they prove quite a lot. But a person of high intellect like yourself would seemingly know that they're an essential piece of the puzzle in determining a player's worth. Not the whole pie, but a substantial piece. Also, don't you think he's have even better stats given the amount of quality defensive(rounds 1-3) talent on that team (also why I don't buy the "he's getting triple-teamed" argument). Real big red flag for me there. He's the 2011 Vernon Gholston to me. Except Gholston actually beat Jake Long for a sack...
  22. Good point, and the main reason why the trade would never happen under the circumstances many previous posts have laid out. There is no way the Redskins would give up next years #1. We'd be lucky to get their 2nd next year IMO.
