  1. You're right about us sucking with the draft. However, can you honestly say it doesn't mean crap to this point regarding what the Sabres have done thus far? In the era of salary cap, this is what it feels like to root for a team that is at least going for the ultimate prize. The past month has highlighted the gap of these two team's ownership so much, I'm much more cognizant to why people crap on the Bills so much. In regards to seeing the big picture, I don't understand how fans have missed the point. Signing free agents is part of the game, something the Bills choose to forgo every offseason. Its some cruel irony that the venerable, iconic Marv Levy's 1st FA class and it's expensive busts will probably be our last foray into this integral part of the game. Go Bills.
  2. You're seriously entertaining the notion that this money would be invested on the likes of Clabo, Miller, and Boss? I'll give you a percentage likelihood that an offer is made on any one of those players. 0%. I understand what you're suggesting in relation to Merriman, but there's no way we're going after those players.
  3. Exactly my thoughts. Sad but true. According to Mendola's Twitter account, he maintains big things are coming in the future.
  4. Good enough to have a 4 year 43mil (22 guaranteed) contract this past spring. He's lost a step, but is still a top 5 CB IMO. As for Tebow/Mckelvin, we're not very deep at CB so it would result in Aaron Williams getting a look right from the get go. If they think he's good enough, let him do it. I'd like to see who ESPN/media would say got the better part of the deal. Both former 1st rounders, both full of potential (except many Bills fans will say Leodis has been a straight up bust to this point). I still think he's salvageable, but who wouldn't pull last years hypothetical Leodis/Gaither trade now.
  5. Good point. In five years from now, after Dareus dominates in the AFC Championship game, the irony of the drop will be felt by everyone. Stevie is an exciting young player w/ upside that says and does all the right things. When was the last time you said that about a Bills player.
  6. Yeah I gotta call BS on this. Barring an injury, he's going #1. If Carolina is picking 1st again, some team will pay a ransom to move into that spot. As for the money, you're partially right. He'll have lost some money w/ the alleged rookie scale coming into play w/ the new CBA.
  7. What parallels are there between the Ravens situation and the current one surrounding the Bills? Just curious.
  8. I check this, ESPN, SI, and use Google daily. I'm a teacher so it blocks any blogs (huge fan of deadspin) so that sucks, and gmail which is what I use to communicate w/ my friends and family. Thus my work email is used by people, the majority of which I have little to no regards for. No youtube either. Even for PPTs, some youtube clips get blocked. I've gotten better at circumnavigating this, however.
  9. Why are we inferring that it is two AFC East owners? It doesn't say this is all.
  10. Don't huge signing bonuses not count toward the cap? In theory they're supposed to help teams like the Bill's, but smaller market teams generally have less cash on hand to give out big bonuses so it really negates any advantage.
  11. I feel like you're the only one in this thread making objective points, and not the traditional Buffalo Sport's Fan argument of crapping on the biggest names when they don't equal the production of glory day Bill's and Sabres. It's OK to not want Poz and Whitner, but to simply place the blame on their shoulders is missing the point. Our defense sucked on a number of levels, especially the front seven. I honestly believe we have three starters Poz, Williams, and Edwards that would start for other teams. That's not conducive for any one individual to succeed. Williams was the only one making consistent plays on his own, which is awesome, but not an indictment of the other player's skills/value to this team.
  12. You do remember Bledsoe and Flutie had Pro Bowl years when they were on the team? I'd take either over Fitz, and I like him too.
  13. That's pretty funny. He's getting killed on the message board. Hilarious.
  14. Taking a safety in the 4th round isn't exactly a vote of confidence for Bryan Scott's talents. And I think Nix would like him back, he's just not going to bend over to his demands and play his games through the media.
  15. Or Scott Pioli, right? But it's irrelevant to the main point. I guess it boils down to rings for me. And a memory of two distinct drives in their respective Super Bowl game. Brady's first was a classic 2 min drill to get his team in FG range. Manning had a chance to drive his team to victory and he threw a pick 6.
  16. I think we'll agree to disagree. I think Davis fits the bill as a depth LB and stop-gap starter more than Poz IMO. I'm high on Sheppard, just cautiously optimistic based on his rookie status and the lockout screwing everything up. I think you'll be surprised on some of the offers he gets if they're made public.
  17. So you're cool with getting rid of our best LB, despite any misgivings you have about him, but are fine w/ starting what you call a "decent ILB combo" of Davis and Sheppard. If decent is the standard for you, why not resign Poz and see what he does w/ better bigs in front of him and the alleged pass rush Merriman will bring?
  18. One man's opinion. But to say he's "WAY more valuable" is not saying he's better. It just means BB is better building a team than Polian is. And remember, Brady won his Superbowls w/o a HOF WR. Manning has had draft after draft catered to him and he's only had one. Way to go cap-locks...
  19. Who do you suggest they bring in to replace him. Everybody likes to crap on what we have without suggesting someone to replace them. An Andra Davis/Sheppard/Torbor/insert name duo will soon remind you of his value to the team. It might be tough to understand for many, but he is an above average starter, and would start for the majority of the teams in the league.
  20. He's walking if he get's a low-ball offer like this, and then telling anyone who will listen what the team offered him. I would much rather him getting Kelsay money than Kelsay. 5 years 25 mil, 13mil guaranteed. Let's see what he can do with a real LB coach and some big boys up in front of him.
  21. Thank you, I thought that's what I said too.
