Troup has been a complete non-factor thus far in his pro career.
This is quite obvious, but I'd really like to see what he can do this year now that he is "NFL strong" (something he wasn't in year 1 ) and healthy (something he wasn't last year). I know HOFers are anointed by us fans at every training camp, but he was very impressive before he dinged up his hand in drills.
There's some serious generalizations here. We have no idea how much good ball Vjax has left but he reminds me none whatsoever of Keyshawn. Totally different IMO.
No. His stats are remarkably consistent over the past 5-6 years. Yes, he'll start to slow down a bit but he'd be a great pickup if we went with more of a project at DE in the draft. Personally, I'd love Mathis from Indy.
Yeah, and having Brady throwing to him didn't affect his stats?
There's just as many guys who play hard after their payday as there are that tank it after they get paid. The media and many fan's 'innate negativity' just like to highlight the guys who suck after the big payday.
It has to get done. This might be a situation where we have to overpay for one of our own. I don't think it'll be 9mil that gets it done, but if signed, the final price will be closer to Stevie's offer than the Bills IMO.
Yeah, I think Edwards would be attractive to a 3-4 squad. It just might be a matter of team's thinking the Bill's are more likely to release him because of the publicly announced switch back to the 4-3.
Also agree that Spencer has a lot of rotational depth value to this team in whatever base package we run. Just no more freaking OLB for him. It's pretty sad to think that our coaching staff was actually playing him and Carrington at OLB last year.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what Reed's said. He's been careful enough to voice some displeasure while not going over the line. They're legitimate worries considering the bloated numbers we'll soon be seeing. He knows the longer it takes the less his stats will hold up when this current generation comes forward to the Hall voting process.
Ahh, at least you made me laugh. Yes, those mechanics are horrible, and no there is no way Tom could throw a ball with his cannon and run and catch it. Didn't you see his 40 time?
Specifically, no. I'm going off an interview I listened to when Jerry Sullivan (go figure) was lamenting the lack of skills the Bill's bean counters display when it comes to negotiating contracts.
I never said signing bonuses. There's a multitude of other bonuses that go into a contract that can be smartly/creatively spaced out throughout the life of the contract. The Bills choose not to do this whether it's the right or wrong approach.
Yes, for teams that are creative w/ the cap and string out bonuses throughout the life of the contract. For the Bills, who have a cash to the cap policy and don't string out bonuses, no.
I don't see your point. They were alluding to the notion that if switched inside in the 4-3, topping 5.5 sacks will be difficult. It would. And as for "Bruce Smith numbers," totally different players.
He's a solid CB but his contract is a bit pricey if I remember correctly. It would probably mean the end of McGee's days in Buffalo but that was prob going to happen anyways. Williams, Rout, Drayton, Leodis, and Rogers would be a solid CB corps.
I have a weird suspicion we are going to resign Stevie and possibly another real good WR in FA making Chan/Buddy go with a LT at #10. Hopefully Martin from Stanford. It'll be a offense-heavy offseason when we all think it should be defense.
He could be a Schaub, but probably not Rivers. Im just nit picking because I think he can be real good.
It's funny because I kinda see a little Brees in him. He's got the weapons with Gresham and Green so it should be interesting. Cincy isn't too consistent so I wouldn't be surprised to see them take a step back this year unless their D keeps in up.
What does this have to do with their football careers? Stevie reminds me next to nothing of those two. Also, we'd be lucky if Stevie became the WR those two were when they were in their "prime."
