  1. I'm all on board here. My only concern is his age. Wouldn't it be something if Pegula was sold the team upon his death? Talk about deja vu.
  2. Always sad. Hate to say it, but a lot of Man U fans are having a pint right now.
  3. That day was actually a nice day for January in WNY. Don't think weather had much to do with it. I honestly think after three straight years to the Super Bowl, that team wasn't counted onto win that game, and subsequently, many stayed home. The Oilers just blew us out, Jimbo was hurt, Thurman was hurt, Biscuit was hurt. Many probably didn't want to see the team lose.
  4. Fans stay away from game in December cause we're 6-9, not the weather. Yes I want the Bills to stay in Buffalo, but I'm not ready to strip the nostalgia from the orgainization to make some people more comfortable. So you advocate cutting the tail-gaiting out? Secondly, all that removing of buildings, neighborhoods, building roads etc is a lot of work.
  5. I believe it was an SI piece that detailed Favre's use. There was a particularly memorable quote if I remember correctly where Favre explained he took 20 or so pills, subsequently vomited, and then went through said vomit to pick out the pills and retake them. Crazy stuff.
  6. I thought that way too. But after putting my conspiracy theory headset on I figured Mara and Rooney have enough clout to "suggest" to Goodell that they would prefer to be passed over. I think the Bills have a legitimate shot at being picked. If I had to put money on it, I think the Bears would still be the front-runners. Yeah. I love the angle many take when suggesting Hard Knocks would be a distraction. Maybe a distraction is what we need. Plus, I'm a firm believer that when the lights go on and the cameras are out, guys will be putting in the extra effort. Hard Knocks has helped bring "coach wants to see you" and "bring your playbook" into the football lexicon.
  7. In essence, drafting for need on a team bereft of talent.
  8. In a perfect world, yes. In the real world, front office positions in the NFL don't grow on trees.
  9. Fair enough. I agree those are very nit-picky. As for the dead-money issues, we really don't know who's responsible for that. The name that always gets thrown out there for contracts is Overdorf. The Toronto series sucked, but made us some money. At least he realized the screw-up and got out. Can't argue about the win-loss thing. Facts are facts. It's just difficult to place the blame squarely on his shoulders IMO.
  10. Exactly. Some moron thought he'd make some money and he sued the team. How is this Brandon's fault. I actually thought the Bill's payout response was genius (probably Brandon's idea BTW) to offer money to be used in the team store.
  11. Do you really hold the cheer-leading fiasco and text-message lawsuit against him? Have these episodes really embarrassed you?
  12. Yup, right next to the Federal holding center. Prison and football, Goodell will love that.
  13. Jim's wife is from Attica but that doesn't make building a stadium in Batavia a good idea. Thurman has a sport's bar at the track, but he's not involved in anything other than the restaurant (or the occasional commercial). Their connections to the area aren't helping bring a stadium to Batavia. But this is a good thing.
  14. Batavia wouldn't just "get an exit or two." Those exits already exist in Pembroke and Leroy. And as far as infrastructure is concerned, I respectfully disagree that the city/immediate area could handle the influx of traffic/people. Batavia can be a pain in the ass during "rush hour" afternoon traffic. When I came home over the summer from college, concerts at Darien Lake would create mini-gridlock. Also, there's no way to avoid the merging of traffic on 5, 33 & 63 let alone all the traffic coming from the Thruway onto Rt 98. I think it's a bad idea. Hopefully the committee does their due diligence and realizes it's not a good place to call home.
  15. I grew up just south of Batavia, and think it would be one of the worst sites possible. The whole "midway between Buffalo and Rochester" thing is overrated. Syracuse is a mixed market too. In theory yes. However, 33, 5 and 63 all become the same road through Batavia. It's a pain to drive through on a Friday afternoon at 5. Can't imagine it if 70,000 people converged on it at once.
  16. And having three, talented and fresh RBs is never a bad thing. Injuries are sure to hit the unit as well so having some real, solid depth at the position is a nice thing to have.
  17. So what you're really saying is that the Bill's f'ed up big-time because they reached on Cockrell? I'm rooting for him to piss in your Cheerios. And to your "win now" comment you made earlier. Why aren't the Bills in a win now mode? The rosters' been rebuilt and is a decent season from EJ away from pushing for a playoff spot. Watkins was added solely for this purpose. Adding the best WR prospect in the past 5yrs is a move ANY team should make to help their young, talented QB.
  18. Spiller is probably quite happy. A lot of money that was probably going to Dareus is now on hold for another season and CJ might be the beneficiary. With that said, the money going to Spiller was never going to be that much given the current devaluing of the position.
  19. Ehhh, most stereotypes are grounded in some truth. Didn't like the drops either, but then again, it's not like he didn't haul in his fair share of "Fitzy Ducks" (trademarked) over the years. I really wish him the best. Niners vs Seahawks just got that much better.
  20. Yet 99% of every pundit/scout/analyst/talking head says he's the best WR to come out in 5 yrs. I can live with it.
  21. I might have missed it, but where did Whaley say the difference was minimal? He said Watkins was the highest rated player on their board.
  22. What we gave up is pretty mild compared to the Falcons/Julio trade. If he hits, we'll all forget about the cost (kind of). edit: just realized Falcons moved from the 20s. Thought they were in the teens.
  23. I'm probably in the minority on this, but keeping hold of the 2nd this year was a coup. Yes, we gave the first next year. But the 2nd is more valuable now in trying to get this team one more starter and over the proverbial hump.
  24. They've got a great Cuban sandwich there. Damn good day to be on the back patio by the canal.
  25. I love the idea. As for press coverage, I think it's something that can be taught/improved upon with the coaching he'll get. He probably didn't have to worry about it much operating out of the spread.
