  1. Well, was he getting taken out "half the time" like you previously said or just getting "spelled" like you say above. Getting yanked for Choice is one thing, getting a rest is another.
  2. Agree with everything you say. It was a statement buy, no doubt. Certainly not debating that. He basically inflated the value of just abut every team in the league.
  3. He's not dumb. Far from it, actually. He got caught up being a celebrity this season, hopefully he'll realize he's got work to do. I'd love him here.
  4. You're right about it not being fair market value. Plus the team was essentially sold in a highly controlled auction setting where bidders were motivated by fear. Hardly and an "arm's length sale." But like Terry said, 1.4 was the "right" price.
  5. If Schwartz wants to be a head coach again, stay in Buffalo. Pretty simple.
  6. Not a knock on Kaepernick because damn, I'd love him to be our QB, but, this season looked like he thought he was more a celebrity than a NFL QB. Something tells me he knows this, and he'll come back strong next season. I just wouldn't place too much blame on Roman for this.
  7. This. And there's also an element of "let's return some fire" to those mean Bills fans who said bad things about our favorite son, Doug Marrone. Never knew these Syracuse guys were so tight.
  8. I thought that was the case too but it appears the Bills can be considered according to reports.
  9. I sense some hurt feelings because not everyone loves "us." Who cares? IMO, Rodak does a fine job all things considered. He's a reporter, not a cheerleader.
  10. Was rex the coach of those teams, or the GM? Tannebaum built teams like a fantasy roster 3 years behind the times and Idzik was a colossal failure who refused to spend money on a depleted roster. I don't see your point.
  11. Approve. Go Bills. Rex, go have a snack. You deserve it.
  12. He was Tebow's QB coach and they WON a playoff game. That's impressive in my book.
  13. Leave it to me to critique his kitchen cabinets in his 5 mil mansion!
  14. I believe they bulldozed it and then built their own.
  15. I'll actually agree with you on this. But the sad part is, he didn't even send the mass text himself. He made a Bills staffer do it for him. That is lame, and you know it.
  16. Yup. One of the main things I've noticed throughout this debacle is the unwillingness of any ex-coach/GM to publicly criticize Marrone. Manish Mehta was on Michael Kay's ESPN radio show a couple of days back and the divide among opinions was clearly media vs. ex-personnel men/coaches. Now Manish has been vehemently against Doug since day 1, but Kay's counter arguments rested upon "well Bill Polian and Charley Casserly love the guy." We've always known the NFL is a big old fraternity, this process has just brought it more to light for a peon like myself.
  17. Be careful. That's his agent you're talking to. I think?
  18. Yes in theory. But the reality is, he's taken a calculated risk by leaving in hopes of landing another job. What if he doesn't get hired? It'll look awful shortsighted on his part. He's not the type of guy who can risk taking a year off in hopes of landing a future head coaching gig. I mean, only the Bills hire guys like Chan and he's already used up that lifeline.
  19. I mean, that's kind of an important element of a successful coaching search. I bet he could talk Terry into any combination of toppings even when Terry just wanted pepperoni.
  20. I've said for some time I think Jerry walks in search of the money. This article makes me think we might have a reasonable chance in getting something done.
  21. It sounds like you've removed the human element out of sports entirely. That's not an enjoyable way to go about investing your time in rooting for a team IMO. And I thoroughly disagree that video says everything about a specific play. You said so for yourself, each game is a highly specific series of events (debatable whether these are chronological or not) where the smallest misstep leads to a specific outcome. Video doesn't do justice in trying to understand what went through a specific players mind on a specific play. I for one love it when I hear someone share their experiences without the standard cliches. No. It doesn't change the overall records but it didn't come off to me like he was making any excuses.
  22. I love it when an athlete speaks his mind and gives a fairly candid interview and the reaction by some is "just shut up and play." Priceless.
  23. Some good points here. I don't think the Tanny and EJ comparison is valid unfortunately because of the lack of games EJ has played up til this point. I wouldn't expect a huge progression in his third year because of the lack of playing time. This sucks, because I would love to know what we have in him, but it wouldn't surprise me if the new coach looks at the film and draws their final (unfavorable) evaluation.
