Congrats to Fitz and his Wife

Wish them the best -
Actually, ryan fitzpatrick with a bit more accuracy and a stronger arm (which smith has) souds pretty damn good to me. It was never fitz's guts or ability to read a defense, it was just his lack of accuracy: throwing above, behind or not far enough for his receivers. I'm not supportig fitz, but if ur gonna bash him, bash him for what he deserves to be bashed for.

TSW inside jokes
BillsBackersChicago replied to BillsBackersChicago's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not sure if ur joking, but there's really not much to it. Started the handle when i was started a bills backers group here in chicago called "the Bills Backers of Chicago" Back to the point: any exorbitant number attributed to Travis Henry's illegitimate children -
TSW inside jokes
BillsBackersChicago replied to BillsBackersChicago's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Wow, I don't think I know any of those, what's the one liner on them? -
Ok, I know we have a new coach and all, but I feel like the discussion has gone repetitive so I wanted to change it up a bit. I think there may have already been a thread like this, but I wanted to refresh it. I need ur help to make a compilation of all of the "inside jokes" that are shared on this board. Why? Because if I see a complete stranger, anywhere in the world, and I hear them say or reference any of these, I know they are a bills fan. It's kind of our secret passwords in the dark and mysterious cult of Bills fans. here's just a start, as you add a new one (make sure its a new one), number it so we can see how high we go. 1. Ralph is cheap 2. Ground up and in the freezer 3. Laying on the tarmac 4. Git 'er Done 5. F5 6. DOOOOM!! 7. Peter Pan link 8. Anything crayonz 9. Skeletor 10. Chix 11. Its hard to win in the NFL 12. I've heard of him (git 'er done) 13. Why So Serious? 14. Anything having to do with Thurman losing something (i.e. a helmet) 15. Tempo sightings 16. Marshawn mowing down people on chippewa while waving a gun and smoking a joint 17. applebees (marshawn) 18. 72? oz steak 19. billboards 20. Show me the baby

Bills hire Doug Marrone to be Head Coach
BillsBackersChicago replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know much about Marrone other than a few articles and the Pinstripe Bowl, but I will stay cautiously optimistic. I always wonder what it is that makes a team choose one candidate with NO NFL experience over another candidate with a winning record. I really thought Lovie woud be a good fit with our defensive roster. I know we would have needed a real OC... maybe that's where it fell through. I understand that a person with no NFL experience has the most potential, but thats potential for both success AND failure. I don't know, maybe after all these failed attempts at rebuilding, I wanted the safe choice to get to a winning record and respectability even if didn't mean getting to the SB or winning it all. I know this is the wrong attitude to have, but I am just tired of being the armpit of the NFL. I am not sure I have the stomach to go through another: year 1: excitement over potential met with reality over starting fresh and a tough year met with fan understanding and patience while a new system is instilled Year 2: Some evidence of progress, but concern over fundamental issues with play calling, personnel, and execution Year 3 off season free agent signings and draft make us all hope that we have addressed all the holes we have and that this is the year that we make it to the playoffs, only to realize that we are a hot mess of a team even with the added talent, and that this whole coaching staff needs to go. I know it may not turn out this way, but it HAS turned out this way for the past umpteen years. I feel like with Lovie, I could have settled into a comfortable bliss of teams like the bears, cowboys, and to some extent, the chargers, who remain respectable, and give their fans something to cheer about, even if they don't ever make it to the level of the consistently elite. Again I know this is the wrong attitude to have, we should always be swinging for the fences, but its just so hard to think that we may entering another 3 years of futility. On the positive note, Marrone did a great job developing Nassib, seems to do very well with a two back offense which optimizes and/or hides his QB's inexperience or weakness, and seems like he knows how to build from mediocrity to success (at least in college). for lovie to work, he would need a good OC (who was really willing and available?), an established QB (he has never successfully developed a QB, so you would have to add that characteristic to the OC candidate), and someone who knows how to use running backs well (lovie never got full potential out of Forte, so add that to the OC characteristic as well). At the end of the day, we would have to implicitly trust all offensive personnel decisions and playcalling decisions to a person that we did not feel was as good of a HC candidate as lovie. Its possible that person does not exist, or if they did, they would be the head coach. Hell, maybe that person is Marrone! Fine! Dammit, I am signing back up for more torture. Here's to hope that we'll be saying "GIMME SOME MORE-RONE!"! Rather than, "this team is led by a MORON-ne!" -
Is it possible that all of this tweeting might be having an effect on lovie negotiations, especially the "power of social media" tweet? 9hMatt Smith @Matt_Smith_IMG How did the world work pre-twitter? I made a lot of new friends tonight. Time for bed, looking forward to watching some football tomorrow! Expand 10hMatt Smith @Matt_Smith_IMG Never doubt the power of social media Expand

I've been a bills fan all my life, and lived in Chicago for the past 13 years. Bears fans are idiots. I think it may be a byproduct of a large market town where you have a large group of so called "rabid fans" that really don't know or understand football the way the average Bills fan does. They ran lovie out of town after a 10-6 season, a Super Bowl visit with a nonexistant offense and subpar QB (sound familiar?...(the offense and subpar part, not the SB part)) and a ridiculously good W-L ratio, when the real problem was the person in charge of organizing personnel. Lovie was handicapped by a retarded GM that sold the farm for some skill players while ignoring the real backbone of a team, the O-Line. If Lovie and the bears had our RB duo and o-line, they could arguably be in the Super Bowl. We would be idiots to not pursue Lovie and even more stupid to not give him what he wants if he is interested in coming here (let's be honest, we have not exactly been the most desirable of landing spots in the past). yes, Lovie needs help with the offense, but the people he picked were successful in the past, but no one can be successful when u have a pro-bowl caliber QB that needs to run for his life on every play. I have 3 words... GIT 'ER DONE!!! oh, by the way, when whaley does become the GM eventually, "the git 'er done, buddy" thing is not gonna be as effective. Can I suggest "Whale on it!!!" When we want him to get on something? Example: "what? a two time probowl QB is not gonna hit the open market? WHALE ON THAT!!!" Just a thought from a man without a plan.

"The Buffalo Bills are going to eat!"
BillsBackersChicago replied to ElMarko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love that you read Bills forums while talking to clients. Can anyone make a bib with the Bills buffalo on it (and maybe a picture of Tom Brady in a bowl of Wings) with the statement "Bills Gon' Eat!!" on it? Looking to our business savvy folks, someone should be able to make money on this. I would like one adult size, and one baby size. -
Maybe Brad Smith was onto something
BillsBackersChicago replied to kenny3000's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
possibly the worst thread start ever. Its a shame, because I think the OP really had a message or topic he/she wanted to discuss, It just got so F'ed up by what reeks of the effects of brown liquor that it, like the mysteries of the Titanic, may be lost forever..... Until James cameron digs it up to make 300 million dollars. I'll never let go rose... yes, i am turning in my man card for quoting Titanic. -
Just tore ESPN a new one on the Buffalo Bills forum on the ESPN website.. Gave TBD and TSW a shout out too.... Screw you, ESPN! (Bills 4th Round Pick is Nigel Bradham in case you missed it)Way to show appreciation to some of the most loyal fans in football. In the fourth round, you mention the 104 pick Joe Adams, and then show the "other picks" starting with 106. Couldn't even mention the Bills pick, huh? There's a reason why all you analysts are jokes and why every single statement you make is taken with a major grain of salt...for example, why is it that Mel's best available player an offensive tackle has been sitting there for the past 2 rounds. Maybe because you have no clue. Thanks for making it real easy for me to change the channel to NFL Network, which is saying a lot because they are big time Bills snubbers most of the year, but atleast they are treating all teams fairly for the draft. Seriously, they only people watching the draft right now are the hardcore fans, and Bills fans are known to be some of the most hardcore, loyal, and invested fans in the nation... do you really think the bandwagon fans from the big market teams are even watching? No! The only type of fans that are watching right not are fans like the Bills have. U really suck, glad I sat watching ur stupid channel only to be snubbed by your programming morons. If you want to be part of a real Bills forum, go to www.twobillsdrive.com and click on the stadium wall forum. That's where real Bills fans live.

Is Schobel considering coming out of retirement?
BillsBackersChicago replied to NishP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
T Master brought this up in another forum, so the credit for the data goes to him (and NFL.com obviously), the blame for the question (and for looking the gift horse in the eye) goes to me.... Aaron Schobel first 6 seasons 60.5 sacks, 96 games played, therefore .630 sacks per game Mario Williams first 6 seasons, 53 sacks, 82 games played, therefore .646 sacks per game. Now don't get me wrong, I nearly pee'd myself when Williams was signed, and I DO think he can be a franchise changer, but it really shocked me to realize that we had someone who by the numbers seemed to be comparable in terms of his ability to get to the QB. The nagging thought I have is that why is this new amazing pass rusher going to change anything when we had an amazing (albeit underrated) pass rusher before and still sucked. I also wonder why I am so excited about this signing when we have arguably had a comparable pass rusher in the recent past So to talk myself off the ledge I came to the following conclusions: Why Williams will have much more impact than schobel ever did: unlike schobel, williams will have the benefit of: 1. Supporting cast (KW, MD) 2. Less than anemic offense, so defense will not have to be on field all game 3. Decent secondary when pass rush was present last year Why williams signing should elicit so much excitement 1. Credibility to the organization (in terms of willingness to spend, commitment to win, 2. Huge shot in the arm to the area (He definitively defended the city and lauded the area and its occupants in his first press conference, and noted it as a main reason why he decided to sign with buffalo (as opposed to signing despite the area). 3. The fact that #1 and #2 will assist in bringing in more talent in the future) 4. In this context, pass rush may be the critical component needed to make the defense solid (will make the run D more stout by being able to seal the edge, will make the secondary better by shortening routes and not having to worry as much about defending the run with safeties, then combine a solid D with a significantly improved offense and we may be real contenders). When schobel was here, It think we were pretty bad DESPITE having a pass rush, not because we didn't have one, which is why this is such a big deal. Anyways, I know that I am talking in circles, and yes, this is mostly for my own therapy to continue to feel ecstatic about recent events but I just wanted to get your thoughts on why this time will be different, or why schobel's surprising talent never translated to wins for our teams. AS an aside, I know that Schobel's production slipped off after his 6th year, but that was when he was injured and missed a lot of time, his last year, however, he notched 10 sacks, so there's nothing to say he was really falling off in terms in production, still can't believe he retired.
