Bill's turn a corner
BillsBackersChicago replied to 7boogiewoogie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, u must be fun at parties! And pectoral muscles do take a long tome to heal, thats why he was out for most of the season, and is probably not back to 100% yet, but the point is, when they do heal, they can be just as strong, not like a joint or tendon which has inherent instability. Also, like billsmd said, using ur pecs to breathe is a well recognized sign that ur not gonna be breathing for long. -

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
BillsBackersChicago replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Signing the top free agent in the league to the richest defensive contract in NFL history and then having such broke ass AV equipment that you cant get your press conference broadcasted is the definition of ghetto fabulous. I love this team. ghetto fabulous, just like me. -
I have to say that I really liked this guy since he played in college. I always thought he played much "bigger" than his actual size. That being said, I am not sure he is what the FO is looking for (speed to put across from SJ), but I have not looked at his 40 times recently. The one thing I will say is that the despite his size and other measurables, the guy knows how to make plays.

Much props, metz. -
Sorry if this was posted earlier. Please lock if it was. I didn't see it on the wall. Anyways, Brandon Jacobs released by the giants. Like i said, not a need, especially for the price he's demanding, but wanted to hear ur guys thoughts. Before u get a chance, let me say the following: Ralph is cheap, he would never come to buffalo, he's washed up, we already have freddie and cj, get 'er done, buddy, i know him so let's get him, and finally peter pan. Did i miss anything? http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/7667012/new-york-giants-release-veteran-running-back-brandon-jacobs

Lee "the magician" Evans....hes dissapeared
BillsBackersChicago replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its a shame that the Ravens are in the championship, makes that 4th rounder effectively a 5th rounder. -
Levitre has really been a bright spot, this was really his come out year to prove that he was worth his draft status. I was worried for a while there that he was undersized, but as predicted, he built himself up so he could compete at an NFL level, and continued to show the amazin -line smarts and instincts he was drafted for, making him an all around excellent lineman. he isn't on the juice, is he? Its just me being a nervous bills fan, but man, he sure did get stronger in one season, he used to be a great technique guy, but overpowered, now it seems like he is using that technique, and mauling guys in the process, Really playing alot bigger. Now please don't take this as me accusing a Buffalo Bill that I really like as a player of wrong doing, I just wonder what made the change? Finally growing into his size? Learning how to use his technique to overpower bigger platers? 2nd puberty? Anyways, on a second note, I genuinely believe that bad teams get injured more. Now granted, the opposite is true (badly injured teams end up as bad teams), but the bills have been mostly bad, and perennially on the most injured list. My THEORY (nothing more) is this: I think that when teams are bad, their players, especially the good ones, are having to play out of position, to have to cover for the mistakes of other players. For example, a LT has his guys wrapped up, feet under his shoulders, keeping his center of balance, well, centered.. In that position he is perfectly set up to finish his blocks without getting injured However, if the guard next to him misses the coverage of his blitzing linebacker, or lets his DT slip by him, the offensive tackle finds himself trying cover up his guy, but also trying to cover up the guy that should have been picked up by someone else. He then finds himself out of position, trying to grab or push someone while he is extending himself, center of gravity way off, making him way more likely to roll, turn, twist or hyperextend something. It also increases the likelihood that he may find himself in a place where someone could unexpectedly roll onto his legs. Just a theory, but I really think that playing out of position, and a failure to execute plays as designed predisposes a team to injury. Thoughts?

Big ole' Bills Helmet Fathead!!! -
Glad you learned how to use pubmed, now you have to learn how to interpret data and actually use it to prove your point. "among single nonfathers at baseline (2005) (21.5 ± 0.3 y), men with high waking T were more likely to become partnered fathers by the time of follow-up 4.5 y later (P < 0.05)." Draft high testosterone players all you want, but the ladies seem to dig them and will end up making them daddies one way or another. Also you , completely ignored the previous poster's point, demonstrate that the bills have more dad's than other time, AND prove that those dad's spend time with their kids as the article clearly argues that the more time you spend with your kids, the lower your testosterone. Finally, to prove your fatherhood point, you provide one study that is a non-controlled, non-randomized cohort analysis. There is no telling what other factors played into those subjects' testosterone drops. Also, this was in a filipino population, with a very different genetic background than the predominantly white and african american population. In fact, testosterone levels are known to vary between different racial backgrounds (I will let you look that one up to confirm it). Its nice that we all have access to scientific data in this day and age, but its important that we interpret the way that the scientists that publish that data do, with a fine tooth analytic comb. People get themselves into all kinds of trouble when they try and extrapolate scientific data that they don't carefully analyze and interpret first to prove points (you see it in the media everyday); When they extrapolate that data to try and provide a unified theory to explain the reason behind the Bills decade of futility, nothing good ensues. Sorry to get all nerdy, but it drives me nuts when people do this stuff.

McShay's First Mock -- 1.0

I agree, but I do like the fact that he was fast enough to make the chase last 20 minutes and strong enogh that it took 8 cops to get him down. Just need to get him boozed up before the game...boozed up and apparently.... naked. Should make for interesting TV. -
Today's my 31st birthday
BillsBackersChicago replied to SuperBills12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Happy birthday, my fellow Bills fan! Last week I celebrated my birthday with a W and a shutout. More than I could ask for, but definitely what I was wishing/praying for. Let's keep the birthday wish streak going! -
I think the coolest thing about that is that despite giving up two first rounders and a second rounder (as well as Bell), we really hit a home run with the picks we had. On '88 we picked thurman thomas with our second round pick (after we traded away the first rounder. I don't even recognize the guy the Rams picked with our #1. I think anyone would say we stole round 1 talent with that second round pick. In '89, we picked Don Beebe in the 3RD round! I don't know that he is 1st round quality, but he was a hell of a lot better than most of the 1st rounders we have drafted in the last decade. Plus, when he knocked the ball out of leon let's hand (I think that's who it was) in the Super Bowl after that fat ass started celebrating his turnover for a touchdown too early, he instantly became one of my favorite bills. MAN, don't you wish we could get drafts like that again?!?! Who knows, maybe we are restarting the run, after all, Barnett sure SOUNDS like Bennett, even if they don't play the same position.

Kent Hull Passed Away
BillsBackersChicago replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Real shame. I wish his family strength and peace. Also wonder how Kelly and the rest of the old Bills family is taking it. Not that it matters, but anyone know what took his life at such a young age? -
Pass Rushers....Possible Trade Options
BillsBackersChicago replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ooh, I like that idea. Making his career come full circle in the B-Lo!! Can his 38 year old bones still handle the strain? If so, I'm all for it. only thing is, it seems like Dareus and Williams are taking up the interior linemen pretty well, and the LBs are still not doing anything. i guess adding another big NT with skills will further require the tackles to help and prevent them from taking on outside rushers, but it seems like the better answer would be to get a better outside pass rusher, not a better interior guy, where we actually are quite talented. Whatever, I want big pat back. even if its just to sit on tom brady after williams and dareus knock him unconscious... -
Pass Rushers....Possible Trade Options
BillsBackersChicago replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I may agree with you re: the 2nd and 4th for allen ...seems like a stiff price, but he is a proven stud. However, he has not proven himself in an NFL 3-4 yet (as far as I can recall, although I am not totally sure about what/where he has played in the past/college/etc.)...) Anyways, I am just saying that the logistics seem impossible with the deadline tomorrow... even if we all give an enthusiastic "git 'er done, Buddy!!" -
Pass Rushers....Possible Trade Options
BillsBackersChicago replied to BiggieScooby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like a moot point, the trade deadline is tomorrow. Gonna be tough to get someone in camp, evaluate them, have them pass a physical and sign a contract by the end of tomorrow. If we are talking for next year, I think it makes more sense to wait for free agency/the draft to see who we can get without having to pay/compensate another team. -
Brandon Lloyd In Buffalo?

good point. -
there's definitely a joke there, but I can't seem to find it.

I agree that our safeties are really playing well. Our corners are giving up a lot in coverage (seems people are passing at will against us), but I wonder if thats because the safeties (rather than just helping out in coverage) are being allowed to roam free a bit, allowing them to get more picks, or to come up to blitz the QB or assist in run defense. Don't get me wrong, what the corners are not doing in pass defense, they are just about making up for with stripping balls, getting picks, etc., but our safeties seem to everywhere and in on every play.

What is Chad Kelly (Jim's nephew) hinting at?
BillsBackersChicago replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hello fire, meet fuel! yes, I do realize that a post on the buffalo.com website does not provide any more credence, but there was an interesting last post that looks like ole' chad boy may have gotten in a bit o' trouble... I enjoy watching other people suffer, especially if said person is about to be famous "Paris Hilton style" by being related to someone who did something, or created something important, and then acting all arrogant and self important about it... I probably shouldn't have shadenfreude over a high school kid..... Ooh, what if jimbo got so pissed off at Chad's tweet that he as new owner, he officially banned him from any Buffalo Bills related event!! ok, I feel bad now, but consider this, if the man who revolutionized the computer and personal electronics dies (Jobs), and then one of the original visionaries of the NFL (Wilson) dies soon after, who is the third?! -
Chan's comments on Stevie "incomplete" catch
BillsBackersChicago replied to MacAddict104's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From a link one of the other threads that details some of the bengals and bills postgame comments: From Chan: Talk about how the officials’ instant replay review of Stevie Johnson’s catch that resulted in an incomplete pass changed the momentum of the game: “I was a little shocked at the call, to be honest with you. I had a pretty good vantage point. You’ve got to be strong enough and good enough to overcome that. We’ve been in worse situations than that before and played better. You’ve got to be able to handle that. here's the link to that thread, link to the quotes at the top -
Oh, perhaps, I have been too judgmental, without enough info. Is Ted's not a grocery store, but rather a place to get a good dog? IF so my bad, and I agree with your Wegman's statement. And as a chicago man for the past 11 years, with no wegmans in any close proximity, i would cut off at least one appendage if there was a wegmans within driving distance.
