  1. Ron Rivera was the Defensive Coordinator in Chicago. They were quite good under him. For some reason, he had a falling out there, and he came to San Diego as the "Linebackers Coach" under Wade Phillips. That appeared to be a step backwards. When Phillips left for Dallas, Rivera assumed the DC role. He is now a head coach in Carolina...so it is not completely unheard of....
  2. WOW! I cant belive that WGR was able to even get an interview with an NFL Player let alone an actual player for The Bills...Plus Merrimen is sort of a big name, or was-Hopefully will be again for The Bills. Nice work WGR...
  3. We are all hearing about Lynch's big run over the weekend. It was a pretty impressive play. He always had that ability, but face it...The guy was a doosh of monumnetal proportions. He got off on a very bad foot in Buffalo right away and continued to act like a turd the entire time he was there. The hit and run, gun and weed incident, stealng money from locals at bars, not introducing himself to Gailey, skipping OTA's etc... It just wasnt going to work and getting rid of him was the right thing to do. He doesnt fit in with what they look to be doing. He's a bruiser, but his numbers this season were pretty pedestrain 16 games, 787 yards, 6 tds....Jackson did better in 12 games than Lynch did in 16. Hope the picks we get for him turn into something worthwhile....
  4. I was there. I met OJ Simpson in the corridor at halftime that day. He was a sideline correspondant for NBC. He was nice, and took tim eto stop and talk. Shook my hand as well as my buddies The stadium looks full, but I tell you half the people left at halftime. Ive never yelled and screamed that much in my life. It was the ultimate adrenaline rush and sports high I have ever experienced. It was awesome. Cant believe it was 18 years ago. We are due.
  5. The chargers really needed to fortify their secondary back then...Rodney Harrisson was gone and the secondary was the team's weakness. Jammer is solid and still very good. The rest of that draft is pretty unimpressive. The only player I know who is still playing is Ben Leber with Vikings.
  6. Don't forget about Dallas too...Nice to see them suck-especially whne the Superbowl is in Dallas! Shanny is dooshy. Glad he went to that trainwreck in DC instead of BFLO. By the way~Redskins owner Daniel Snyder is featured in some NFL Shop.com commercial. Why on earth would you put someone like him in an ad to try to sell product...He's dooshy like Shanny too.
  7. The NY Giants had the blueprint for beating the Patriots in the Superbowl...You absolutely have to pressure and attack Tom Brady. Detroit had Brady running for his life on Thanksgiving in the first quarter, then they turned it over and the Pats jumped all over them and ran away with it. You need to attack Brady and you absolutely cannot turn the ball over. Buffalo needs to build a big , mean nasty defense that attacks the QB. This is a passing league. Our secondary would get a lot of picks (equaling points) if the defense could effectively rush the passer. Bills need to go all out on defense this off season via draft and free agency.
  8. That's not it...The simple reason the team is (Maybe) leaving is beacuse the money in LA is huge-some team/some owner was going to jump at it...It just so happens that at this moment San Diego appears to make the most sense: Proximity an dease of move, The owner is 90+ years old and very ill and wants to sell his share before the inheritence tax goes up, and the team needs a new stadium which is not going to happen because the city is a mess financially...Sounds a lot like Buffalo doesnt it? The difference is that Ralph has stayed committed to Buffalo while he is alive. This San Diego thing is not a done deal. If Ralph dies tomorrow, watch out, Buffalo is immediately identified as a team for sale and relocation... If the Bills were relocated, every radio and tv host in the U.S. would say "Well Buffalo is a dead town, economy is bad, doesnt fit in to the current NFL" etc, and every single Bills fan would be livid because it isnt true. Dont assume that San Diego cant/wont support their team, and "Better them than us"....IF the Bills are able to stay, thank your lucky stars...In the meantime just be classy and happy that the Bills , at the moment, are not on the radar for immediate relocation. People here are concerned and upset about the Chargers potential exit from the market........ San Diego is a growing city with the best weather in the US. The city has one of the highest employment rates and income levels in the US. The NFL is going to one day want a team here again. It is already a proven commodity. It may be 12-20 years, but once the city gets its act together, there will be a group of money men who will look to relocate a team to San Diego. They will build a stadium downtown, and use it as a mix use facility next to the hugely popular and active convention center and bring in international soccer matches, etc along with football games and superbowls and college bowl games like the Holiday Bowl.
  9. So I guess you'd be OK with The Bills moving to Toronto then right? Toronto is actually closer to Buffalo than L.A. is to San Diego. No big deal, it is the same thing right? I cant believe that Bills fans have no empathy towards San Diego Chargers fans. If any fan of a franchise should feel for a good football town like San Diego or Minnesota relocating it should be Bills fans with all the uncertainty and anxiety we have faced. If San Diego loses their team, one day they'll get one...It is just too nice of a (growing) city not to have one. You think Buffalo NY gets a team if the Bills ever leave? Let's hope it doesnt happen so we dont have to find out. In the meantime show some class....
  10. That's a BS attitude to take. This could very easily be Buffalo leaving to go somewhere too. How would you feel if their fans said "GOOD!!!!!!!" about the move. San Diego is a very good football town. The stadium is crap. They do need a new one, but just like Buffalo, the politians here suck and they screwed everything up to the point of bankruptcy, so no new stadium is coming soon....HOWEVER- One day, once the smoke clears and San Diego is not on the verge of bankruptcy, The NFL will say "You know...San Diego needs a team as it has supported one in the past, and it is the PERFECT superbowl location". What happens then ? Where will they re-locate the new San Diego team from? What does Buffalo NY look like in 2022? Probably the same as it looks today, which is the same as it looked in 1975 thanks to the politicians, NY state, the unions, inability to think ahead or get anything done. That doesnt bode well does it? Dont take pleasure in other people's losses just because you think it protects the Bils from leaving. The whole thing is BS. If any team should move it Jacksonville, or move Oakland or St Louis back to L.A.
  11. Funny....True. Those are so bad (However they look halfway decent in snow) But I hate them too.
  12. Well...Yes...The calls were very bad, in favor of the Vikings...and here is the real kicker: The main referee for the game was actually Leslie Frazier's twin brother- Laverne. SO it all stands to reason. Laverne is trying to help his brother keep the head coaching job for 2011!
  13. Its not the same as Buffalo to Syracuse, Not for San Diego ...San Diego is the polar opposite of L.A, and San Diego doesnt want to be associated with or compared to L.A.....San Diego is like Buffalo to NYC. San Diego is also a world class town...It is way nicer than L.A. L.A. is a Raiders town. Im not suggesting Oaklnad move back to L.A. ,although it makes more sense than San Diego..So do the Rams, but The team that absolutely is a no brainer to move is Jacksonville....It just is not working there, but for whatever reason they refuse to accept that. I agree , better SD than Buffalo, but I dont agree with the move period, anymore than I think Minnesota should move. Lastly-If San Diego leaves, I believe they wil get a team ultimately...It is just way too nice here for them not to get one...let's say it is ten-twelve years, but who do they steal from then...Buffalo? Let's hope not!
  14. There is a huge buzz in San Diego that The Chargers are selling 36% of the team to Philip Anshultz of AEG. It doesnt bode well, as Anshultz and his team are responsible for LA Live and The Staples Center and rumored to be looking to build an NFL Stadium in downtown L.A... Where there's smoke there's fire, and it doesnt look good. I'm totally opposed to the move. Not because I love The Chargers (I Like them) but because San Diego deserves an NFL team. They are an original AFL team ,who have been here 50 years and get good support. The stadium sucks, but they should keep them here . Here is an interview with Scott and BR and the SD Business Journal: http://www.xx1090sandiego.com/common/global_audio/40/24502.mp3
  15. Thats right Dom did choke him out didnt he? He was good. I think he used to do some corrsepondence work on WGR in Sabres pre game shows too.
  16. The small improvements we are seeing may help to get people to give Buffalo more consideration...Would'nt go so far as to say "magnet" but at least this organization no longer appears to be a complete and utter clusterf#@k. Perhaps Chan and Nix have finally got Wilson to back off, and he sees a plan beginning to work. Hopefully Ralph let's the guys continue to do their jobs. Either way-big improvement from last off season when no one wanted to coach here. Bills are being recognized across the country as "improving" and not a total joke..... If The Bills change their uniforms to throwbacks full time, every player in The NFL would want to come here to play and wear those sweet uni's!
  17. If you think the NFL owners would allow an Indian Tribe to own even a 1% share of a team your high. They wont even let them advertise in the broadcast. No Indian tribe/casino etc will ever have any ownership in an NFL franchise ever.
  18. This has been posted many times before, but just seeing the blue home uniforms today I just have to iterate one time: The uniforms are AWESOME! They absolutely just pop, and they don't look like anyone else's uniforms. They are classic, yet timeless and classy. Please Bills, make these the full time uniforms beginning next season. The current ones just dont do it. The only other look that could match this would be the same uniform, but perhaps with white helmet and current logo (circa 73-81...). Time for a change.
  19. True of their skills as coordinators...it was why they were hired by Buffalo and given a shot as head coaches-However, They failed....Ignorant or not, I simply dont care.... Mularkey QUIT. I hate anyone who does that on my Buffalo Bills. Quitters suck, and this guy QUIT.PERIOD. He is a doosh for all time in my book. Go follow Atlanta if you want to sing his praises all day. I'll always take shots at guys who screw over this team. His quitting led to us hiring Jauron too-ugh!
  20. You are so right and owners are just lining up left and right to hire him for a second stint as a head coach. What is this his 4th job since he quit! Great track record. No one is questioning the front office and ownership at the time he left-it was a mess...but the guy quit...plain and simple. He will never sniff a head coaching job again. neither will Williams as he is univerally known as a doosh too.
  21. What? for a 3rd or 4th round pick? He has no value beyond that because no one has seen what he can do yet. No way...You keep him and later you trade him when he has proven value...or you dont. You wont get the ninth pick in round #1 ever for him....
  22. Gregg Williams looks like my 65 year old Jewish Aunt....With the poofy gray hair and the gradient old lady glasses. He goes down as one of the biggest dooshes in Bills coaching history, tied with Mike Mularkey, the biggest quitter of all time. When Mularkey quit he said it was because his kids were getting harrassed at school for the team being so lousy...Real manly to blame your shortcomings as a coach on your kids being pussies.
  23. That is not necessarily true....Yes they want a stadium downtwon, but San Diego is virtually bankrupt. The Chargers have spent the past 8 years trying to find some sort of resolution to a new stadium and it hasnt happened. I hope they stay here. They have been here 50 years and that means something. It is a bandwagon town for sure, but there are legit, loyal fans here trust me!...Still I say it is 50/50 they leave. There is a big buzz here this week with Alex Spanos reportedly selling 36% of the team. His kids will retain 60% and it is rumored AEG/Wasserman will buy the other share and build the stadium in downtown L.A. for the team to move into in 2015. People are concerned, but nothing like it would be if you heard Ralph was selling a share to interests potentially in L.A.. Buffalo fans are 1,000 more concerned and involved with the team than the San Diego community seems to be.... Jacksonville absolutely should be the team to go. They have no tradition, heritage or exceptional fan base. They cant fill the stadium even by tarping off huge sections. It is a college town. College ball will remain there and the fan base will heal. Its a no brainer, followed by the Rams returning to their rightful home...
  24. These are cool...Essentially the thowback with the new logo on white helmet. A good blend of the 60's thru early 90's unis...I would take off the standing logo in the middle of the jersey though...maybe put it on the shoulder, or dump it altogether. And YES 100% better than the aweful unis they have now.
  25. This weekend, I met the bartender at The Bills bar in San Diego who played football at University Of San Diego under Jim Harbaugh about 3 years ago. He told me that Coach Harbaugh was one of the biggest egotistical pricks he ever met. He hated the guy. Harbaugh and Luck's names came up because this guy was a 49ers fan. I asked him what he though about Luck and Harbaugh jumping from Palo Alto to the Niners next season. He told me, that knowing what he knows of Harbaugh, It was unlikely that Luck would want to follow the guy anywhere. Cowherd did say some good things about The Bills yesterday by the way. The conversation came up about relocation, and he said no way you move a Buffalo Bills franchise. The fans are too good, too proven of a product/fanbase in the region. Went on to say it should be Jacksonville that relocates to L.A.
