Buffalo Favored in only 4 games...
BuffaloWest replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Noticed that. It just shows that the NFL and world is against us, since we usually beat Miami at least once they are now taking that game away and making us play the Jets 3 times so we lose 3 division games! We always beat Cinci. We rarely beat Tennessee (But they are a mess now with QB coache etc-we should win that one...) -
Interesting Fact About Pro Football Talk
BuffaloWest replied to BuffaloWest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I was wondering -Who is Mike Florio anyways? Never heard of the guy until PRoFootBallTalk appeared a year or so ago...Basically it is just a blog some guy created. It looks like it was built in the guy's basement, and somehow he parlayed it into a partnership with NBC and now some TV and radio appearances have "legitimized" the guy into some respectable NFL expert...Anyways , the guy isnt a journalist. Doesnt appear to have ever worked for any legitimate publication or syndicate-Newspaper, Magazine or website, nor has he worked for or with The NFL. He is just some F'ing lawyer who worked at ESPN for one week, and he's a Minnesota Vikings fan, so of course he'd rather see The Bills move than The Vikings (who may very well be worse off than Buffalo...) Check it out from Wikepedia: ....Aside from his work on the website, Florio works as a lawyer. He resides in West Virginia. Before creating the site, Florio worked at ESPN.com for a week. Florio is a life-long fan of the Minnesota Vikings.[3] -
Florio posted a story late last week again mentioning how Buffalo was trying to improve their chances for staying in Buffalo with a new owner by negotiating a new lease soon..and that the team being identified by AEG to move was definetley Buffalo because of the fact that we were not mentioned I disputed the posting as it holds no water whatsoever. Pure speculation, with no fact. Guess Florio didnt like the response to his story as it was removed shortly after posting. What a tool....

Odds are the Vikings will go to LA
BuffaloWest replied to Scrappy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What team did Buffalo ever lose to L.A.? The Braves? They went to San Diego.... Wait I thought Buffalo was the odds on favorite last week to move to L.A. Remember-The fact that Buffalo wasnt being mentioned with the teams in talks with AEG meant we WERE the team? But now it is The Vikings this week -OK....Makes a lot of sense. The Viking should stay in Minnesota. The Chargers should stay in SD. The Jaguars are a nothing team and if one team should go-we all know it is them. The Raiders make sense too with the built in fan base and all that. But whatever. "F" L.A. -
We should take a good hard look at Reggie Robie. I think he's available and it would be cool to have the only black punter in the league. One time I saw Robie walking into the tunnel at Rich Stadium and as he was walking in he tripped on the turf and fell on the ground. I said to him- " Robie you can't walk , let alone punt!"....He flipped me off. Thought that was funny. Lighten up everyone-The Moorman thing is a joke....Funny too! Go Bills. The uniforms from the past 8-9 seasons sucked-badly with exception of logo. Just all over the place. Buffalo owns a very appealing brand IMO with either the standing or charging buffalo The only teams with worse unis... * Baltimore- For whatever reason, the team, brand, logo, color scheme etc has absolutely no appeal * Seattle- Logo still fine, but Go back to the 70/80's Chuck Knox, Steve Largent look * Tampa Bay- A bad Pirates Of The Carribean themed cross between the Niners and Raiders-Originals are way cooler * AZ Cardinals- Color Scheme fine, nothing intimidating about a cardinal or any small bird for that matter We will shoot to top five best looking with our new unis. And that alone is enough for us to make it to the Superbowl.

Exactly...Of course TwoBills Drive is going to post issues about relocation-It is a Buffalo Bills Message Board, and it is an issue we are all looking at closely as we love the team. I'm not referring to all of the media either-but when Florio is on it, and Sullivan to a lesser degree is on it, and then it is on an AM Sports talk station in San Diego you have to ask if there is any REAL, significance behind this conjecture, and what I get is-"No ,Not really, just speculation that gets people buzzing"...the AM Drive host on my station simply told me that he "...wanted to create controversy and get people talking" by posing questions to Florio about San Diego/Buffalo/Cinci. He didnt know one way or another what would happen to Buffalo/Cinci and so on. I asked him point blank off air if he had heard anyting from his best friend and college roommate-Alex Van Pelt , while he was with The Bills for all of those years and he said Alex told him nothing/knew about any sale, move and so on...And that is coming from a guy who was with The Bills for years, on the field and as a coach, and also knew Kelly pretty damn well....Was he being secretive because his best friend is a talk show host? Maybe ...But I just dont think Florio or Sullivan know anything really-just speculation...And what Brandon said on WGR today was encouraging. All we can do is hope for the best, and hope the team is good this season-Winning matters too.

I agree that Chargers fans are not as rabid as Bills fans for the most part. They have their die hards for sure. I dont think relocation is as big of a deal to Chargers fans and San Diego in general as it is to Bills fans (many who dont even live in Buffalo anymore). Not sure why Buffalo cares so much. I think it is an identity thing. Even if you live in Denver now, somehow Buffalo is still home in a way. I think Buffalo people who live in Buffalo and in Colorado, California etc are like a family or fraternity or alumni association somehow. Together we stand, with an us against the world attitude. Buffalo people are tough! ....My wife is from San Diego-she sort of summed it up that way to me. She is amazed by the bond I have with the friends I grew up with, because it isnt the same here. That sort of thing doesnt exist as much.

Folks... Understand a few things here about the chatter regarding The Bills moving to L.A., Toronto, Small Market teams like Buffalo being screwed with new CBA, etc. I work in sports media. These guys are simply , and will admit it off the mic, looking to stir the pot, and create controversy (especially now that there is so little news coming out of the NFL). L.A. getting a team has been the only buzz to report on. I understand how nervous everyone has been about the Bills leaving. It is BS that the team wont put some of the fears to rest, it is not fair to the loyal fans. It would be the right thing to do to have someone at One Bills Drive and say-"Folks, we are committed to doing everything in our power to keep this team here in Buffalo long term and we are working on it every day". Is that asking for too much? For whatever reason -They wont do it. Let's hope it is for the right reasons and not selfish, self serving ones. If Ralph has a plan and the team stays-You erect a bronze statue of him at Delaware Circle. If he simply sells the team when he dies with no care as to where they end up-He is burned in effigy every day for one hundred years-because he absolutely screwed Buffalo. In other words-There are things that can and should be done to keep the team in Buffalo-We can only hope that they are being done behind the scenes....I believe that they are. People in San Diego are just as concerned, if not moreso, that their team-The Chargers are moving to L.A. You think people are nervous in Buffalo, multiply it by 10X here. The Buffalo Bills are mentioned here-It is a hypothetical conversation with Florio...The host who mentions this-Off air-told me this morning-He only does it for controversy purposes, and really has no clue what is really going to happen, but loves to rattle people's cages and start a buzz... Florio keeps saying he believes that since Buffalo isnt mentioned as the team targeted for relocation-It means they are THE team-It is BS guys. Florio doenst know. No one other than Wilson and a handful of other people know what is going to happen, and if I had to bet on it-I think Wilson has a plan-stays true to the town that built his empire, does not want his name sullied by leaving The Bils and their fans out to dry after he dies, and one last thing-You just get the feeling that he would love to give the middle finger to Jerry Jones, Kraft etc from The grave- I have said, and continue to say that the team stays in WNY as The Buffalo Bills. After listening to this, one might believe that San Diego is now in a better position to remain in San Diego because of the new CBA cap expenditure theory and that Buffalo is screwed because we have no corporate support. San Diego doenst have any big corporations other than Qualcomm and some defense contractors-It isnt some big corporate town that fills up luxury boxes at will. They barely sell out here and the team has been good for 10 years, not to mention-There is NO WAY that the Chargers are getting a new stadium. The city and the state are broke...Im telling you- All this media stuff is BS... http://www.xx1090sandiego.com/pages/audiovault09 Look under 6/22 Mike Florio Link

Schefter twittering deal in the works
BuffaloWest replied to richNjoisy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uhh yeah -No One is going to spend a billion dollars on team in Buffalo NY just to have fun. Come on~ It would be a business decision. The guy in LA Grundlach or whatever looks like a greaseball, and when /where did he even say he would even keep the team in Buffalo? He lives in L.A.. Last time I checked they were looking to relocate a team. Buffalo has been mentioned. Cuban bought the Mavs for a fraction of what they are worth now-so quit kidding yourself there-He has made hundreds of millions on the invetsment. I trust Ralph will make the right decision that will be in the best interest of keeping the Bills Viable in Buffalo NY. If that means no football this year-so be it, as long as the team has a long term shot at competing and remaining in WNY I say let him hold off the others-He was right last time-Remember? -
ESPN 2011 Ultimate Team Rankings
BuffaloWest replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fact that the Sabres were #1 just a few years back says a lot about Buffalo's support. That ranking dropped quite a bit when Quinn/Golisano blew it with Drury/Briers/Campbell and overpaying for Vanek. Let's be honest-The Sabres team that excelled in 2006/2007 after lockout was pure dumb luck-Not some great foresight into how post lock out hockey was going to be played. As quickly as the team became great, it become garbage equally as quick. Maybe they are on their way back up now with Pegula-We'll see, but they are very average. A #11 rank is more about Buffalo's love of hockey and the team....At any rate-I still content Buffalo is a football town first. The Buffalo Bills fans would have them at #1 if they truly felt like the team had made the correct decisions in hiring the right personnel-GM's and Coaches and drafted good players-Fans are pissed, apathetic about the product fielded and the poor decisions over the past decade. If the Bills make the playoffs this year and generate some excitement/show improvement-The rank will jump by 50 or more spots. If this was 1992- Bills would be #1 on the list. -
To me she is really not that hot. I guess her body is pretty sick, but her face to me is not that pretty. I could put that all aside for a billion dollars though. If I were Brady I'd retire. He has nothing left to prove in the NFL. He is going to the HOF and won 3 superbowls. Why risk injury? I'd move on. He's just going to end up getting beaten up, which come to think of it would be fun to watch. I hope Dareus breaks his arm in half....

Fox Sports Ranking of NFL Franchises...
BuffaloWest replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have to agree that Oakland would need to be below us. They make terrible trades and first round picks. Al Davis is a complete kook. He runs coaches out of town on a regular basis even when they are making progress. They went 6-0 in the AFC West last season! Carolina sucks, but they were good just 2-3 years ago-We have sucked for 11. Cinci is a mess, but were in the playoffs 2 seasons ago. What about Miami? They have zero plan, and are up and down each year and havent had a QB since Marino-They suck too. San Fran? When was the last time they mattered? This is a cyclical business. We have blown forever, but we are inching along. Trust that they day will come where we'll be good, and NY jets and Patriots will suck again. It is just the way it goes -
Merriman taking part in Gumball Rally
BuffaloWest replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds fun! Sign me up. Merrimen's a doosh. He should be spending Memorial Day Weekend in Buffalo practicing in Buffalo with his teammates and mentoring Maybin. This is an outrage! I should be in Europe with drugs hookers fast cars and rich people partying. -
Is this even a story? Here's another one for you-I want to buy The Bills. You will see this in tomoprrow Wall STreet Jurnal...
-
Exactly! The Bills havent had a leader on defenese in forever. It is his for the taking. I love this pick. He is a monster-They finally made the right pick it would appear. Now- If Merriman can regain some of his old self, he will be a very good leader too. Even as a rookie and second year guy here in SD, he was THE defensive leader, remember his lights out sack dance and his pre game fire the troops up chant: " I feel lean, mean, agile, mostly hostile-Highly motivated, highly motivated-AHHHHH! God I hope he bounces back....

Didnt the Padres go to The World Series in 1984? How can you finish 4th and win a pennant? Bills have been utter garbage for the past 11 years, and honestly -the product wasnt ever NFL Caliber-They should have had their charter revoked at times, but as bad as they are, they have always been and will always draw more interest nationally than Jacksonville, St Louis, and Carolina. What about San Fran? When was the last time they did anything? Anyhow, Buffalo has a big fan base-top ten for sure. Once you leave Buffalo and step back you can see which teams have rabid fan bases-Buffalo is right up there. Hasselbeck is a really ugly guy,ESPN 3rd stringer at best, married to a hot girl-who happens to be a total B word. She must make life intolerable. He failed in the NFL and has a job because his wife is a reality tv star-You think he'd be on ESPN otherwise? Doubtful....

comeback game on nfl network....
BuffaloWest replied to BuffaloATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was some karma there for sure. However, Im not so convinced that the Titans won The Music City Miracle because Buffalo had some calls go our way in The Oliers Wild card game...I think it was more a function of F'ing Doug Flutie over by putting in Rob Johnson. He had earned the right to play in that game as he was the QB that got us to the playoffs-Not to mention-The enthusiasm that Flutie generated for the Bills post Kelly was wide spread. People liked The Bills with Flutie all over the country and for those who forget-The guy almost single-handedly helped the Bills re-new their 15 year lease at The Ralph by "Selling" luxury suites for the team-Pretty sure that wasnt in his contract, but he was front and center in that effort to sell the suites-without those sales, the team may have already left Buffalo-It was critical that they sold-and he was out there giving tours, meeting people , etc. I also believe that the past ten years beginning with the Music City Miracle were karmic payback for what The Bills did to Flutie. Hopefully we have exercised thsoe demons-we have suffered enough, but stayed loyal! Also The Cheatriots have sort of already begun to get their karmic payback...Going unbeaten in regular season 2008, and losing on a fluke play in the SB, Brady getting hurt in first game of the next season-out for the year, Cassel taking them to 11-5 and they still dont get in playoffs, and then 2 embarrassing playoff losses in past 2 seasons vs. Baltimore and NY Jets at home...Let's hope it keeps up for another 20 years. They have more coming... -
She is definetely NOT hot. Is she Ralph's niece by blood-Like his brother or sister's daughter or is she Ralph's second/younger wifes brother or sister's kid? I suspect the later because if Ralph had a brother or sister, the "niece" would be in their late 60's or 70's... So- She is then not family by blood. She is not from Buffalo-She is from Michigan. She is spearheading the Toronto movement.... That has gone horribly for Toronto and makes everyone in Buffalo nervous-The thing is a failure. I dont think anyone should be excited about this woman and any allegiance to Buffalo. I seriously doubt she has any say in matters anyways.

AJ Smith received a ton of accolades in San Diego when he joined Jon Butler after they both left Buffalo and took over in San Diego in January 2001. Nix was part of that crew they stole from Buffalo too. He was a relatively unknown name. The Chargers turned their fortunes around quickly between 2001 and 2005 with some very good drafts. The picked up: LaDanian Tomlinson, Drew Brees, Michael Turner, Shawn Merrimen, Shaun Phillips, Darren Sproles, Vincent Jackson and Philip Rivers-All very good picks over 5 seasons. Since 2005 they have picked: Anonio Cromartie (Gone) Buster Davis (Bust), Antoine Cason (Average), and Larry English (Bust), Ryan Mathews (?) with first picks....That is a very poor track record...Worse than Buffalos? Quite possibly. The question I have is: Was it Nix who was responsible for those succesful early drafts in San Diego? AJ got all of the credit. Nix left in 2008 and rumor is he and AJ didnt get along at the time he left. It will be interesting to see who does better in the next few years, but it looks like the Bills (with the exception of Maybin) have had better drafts since 2009 than Aj's Chargers. Nix drafts will bear real fruit this season...I like the guy and I think he gets it.I also like his new hires. Go Bills...See you in SD in December!

Chargers relocating to LA makes sense
BuffaloWest replied to GOBILLS!!!!!'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From your perspective The Chargers make the most sense to leave so as to give you peace of mind that this move would then make the Bills less likely to leave. Your logic is flawed when you say it is only 100 miles away, blah blah blah...You can use that same rationale in Buffalo and Toronto...Only 100 miles away, Buffalo's stadium is old, not getting a new one... The truth is San Diego has been playing here for 50 years and the team has a strong, long time loyal fan base just like Buffalo does. Dont wish that on San Diego just so Buffalo becomes less likely to leave. It's bad karma and ususally ends up biting you in the ass, because here is what happens if San Diego goes to L.A....The Bils get a new 5-10 year deal in O.P. a few years pass in San Diego...The City gets its sh@t together and are in a position to get a new stadium built and want a team...guess who they go after? Buffalo! At the end of the day, as much as I love Buffalo, San Diego is a way better city-especially for holding Superbowls-It is a proven NFL city and the league will ultimately want a team in the US 8th largest city. The one city that does not deserve or need a tream is Jacksonville. It should be an absolute no-brainer to move them to LA-but no one wants to admit failure so they will keep them there as they continue to die on the vine. And for the record-San Diego didnt steal The Braves. The owner traded franchises with The Celtics owner because he wanted to move The Celtics to Florida or California. The league said Hell No, Boston was way to important of an NBA city to let move-So he traded for The Braves-an expansion team and less legendary franchise, they proceeded to sell off all talent, let ticket base decline, and was able to move the team after citing poor support. The league ok'd the move and the rest is history.... Get your facts straight and dont wish ill will on San Diego and its loyal fans because you hope it keeps you from having to worry about the Bills leaving (UNLESS you are hoping for Jacksonville to leave of course-because they should be relocated-Then its OK- But Not San Diego (or Buffalo!) -
Aikman has long been rumored to be gay. Joe Buck definetely looks a little light in the loafers. I understand Aikman is going thru a divorce and that his marriage was really always just to "keep up appearances". Who knows? Just rumors, but It would not surprise anyone. I think Buck would be the chick in the relationship.

Dick Jauron to be DC for Cleveland Browns
BuffaloWest replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How on earth is Jauron even still in the NFL? Cleveland was 10-6 about 3 years ago with Cronnel as coach. They had a pretty deep roster, an dtraded away every good player they had to Denver (with the exception of Brady Quinn for Hillis) and NY Jets. As bad as we have been , take heart that Cleveland is much worse off and now headed in an even worse direction...The hiring of Jauron and then bringing in a washed up Jake Delhomme says it all. I cant believe anyone would hire Jauron, even to be the water boy. What a loser. Wannstedt was a great hire for the Bills...He's a real pro. Nix must have told Wannstedt we are taking a defensive player at #3 and he can pick the guy to get him on board.... -
That first one is the best! We murdered those guys that day on both sides of the ball. If you want to sell tickets in Buffalo you better have a big mean nasty scary defense. Buffalo respects that, and buys into it. The Bills BETTER draft every nasty defensive player in the draft this year. Forget about offense. Bring in a free agent Right Tackle and let's get mean again!
-
I was giving WGR kudos for getting Merrimen yesterday. Still no luck with any upper level personnel.... Im happy to see Greg Brady landed a job in radio after years of no work prospects. It must have been tough to be pideon-holed after all of those years on The Brady Bunch.
