  1. Anyone who wants professions of faith from professional athletes, politicians, business leaders, anyone trying to sell them something, is just begging to be lied to.
  2. Religion is just one more way to drive wedges between people and emphasize differences. That's ok in your private club on Sunday, but keep it the hell out of the Bills' business decisions.
  3. Reading his quotes in that piece, I love Lorax's wisdom and perspective as a grizzled vet. He's like another KW, a coach on the field. I hope he's back next year.
  4. I hadn't thought of it, but I guess it makes sense teams may engage a high-level search firm for a coaching search, to do all the logistical legwork of contacting teams, agents, candidates and scheduling the meetings.
  5. Yeah, but what does that MEAN, man?? Where was Brandon is all this, man?? Pegual can't pull the wool over my eyes, sheeple! The apostrophe is clearly defined as "a punctuation mark signifying one does not know the difference between plural and possessive, and does not care to learn."
  6. As an Irishman myself, I'm sick of these stereotypes. I'm going to punch someone right after I finish this drink.
  7. If Saint Doug can bounce back from such a loss of face, anyone can.
  8. No worries. Links are always good to back up salacious accusations, but I think the Whaley porn thing is common knowledge for a lot of people. It's usually the only thing I've found fans of other teams know about Doug Whaley.
  9. Meh, how well did the football czar thing work out for Cleveland and Mike Holmgren? Moving on.
  10. Has one single disciple of Belichick's been successful anywhere else? My only conclusion is that it's gotta be hard to get a new gig and retrofit the visiting team facilities with listening devices.
  11. LOL, yeah, "vaguebooking." I hate that crap so much. Though I'll give JW some credit, at least he's in a business where it's to his advantage to build intrigue. He's not just a bored, dowdy high school ex. (Or maybe he is...?)
  12. For all intensive purposes, has anyone pointed out yet that the OP probably meant "portico sum"?
  13. Yeah, I can just see this guy on the sideline, or in the parking lots, steaming a Marb Red. He'll fit right in.
  14. I'll be interested to see what the message (and cost) is like come renewal time. I always try to be optimistic, but the current situation at OBD has me seriously considering if it's worth it anymore. And I was dumb enough to first get season tickets during the Chan Gailey era. While living 700 miles away.
  15. The problem with Reich is that, no matter how qualified, the instant backlash will be that he is nothing more than a PR hire.
  16. ...so what you're saying is, it'll be a day ending in "Y."
  17. "So much for Objective Journalism. Don't bother to look for it here--not under any byline of mine; or anyone else I can think of. With the possible exception of things like box scores, race results, and stock market tabulations, there is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms." -Hunter S. Thompson Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72
  18. I was making this same point in one of the threads last night. I've worked in radio, in a major market, so I know a little bit about the business. There is a very wide gulf between talent levels in a major media market vs. smaller cities. So we end up with these medium talents for whom Buffalo is a terminal gig. And they sit there for years, decades, completely clogging up a pipeline that desperately needs talented, fresh blood and new perspectives.
  19. Yeah, things could definitely be worse. It's a damn shame what that dirtbag is doing to a once-proud franchise.
