  1. Eh, I've seen plenty of introverted leaders/managers that do very well and also plenty of extroverted managers that are all back-slapping and glad-handing and have zero brains behind any of it. The key either way is a good head on your shoulders and knowing how to motivate people.
  2. "Wonderlic" is a funny name.
  3. No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
  4. I generally can't stand local shows, of any type. Yes, you always get talk revolving around your teams, but the production quality, on-air talent, and probably most importantly the show-prep are all abysmal way more often than not.
  5. Great point. This far into his fourth decade, after several gruesome injuries, he's bound to start delivering on all that potential upside!
  6. ARE THESE LIGHTS ON? CUZ THEYRE ABOUT TO BE ON.
  7. But, and this may be a dumb question, aren't real estate transactions a matter of public record? So people would've found out one way or another, unless Los Peguals used a dummy corporation to make the purchase?
  8. Because it pisses us off and generates heat on social media for those guys. Mission accomplished.
  9. And yet 105%* of the Cut-Tyrod-Yesterday crowd seems to think an instant, obvious upgrade is under our noses. *Margin of error ±5%
  10. Goddamn right they're staying flat.
  11. Way to generate a little heat for yourself there, Johnny Eightposts.
  12. And there's also this. It's not exactly a "no smoke, no fire" situation either.
  13. Right, but notice I'm not waving my hands like a manic street preacher insisting I know what's what. Just too many weird occurrences that make me uneasy. Like I said, I "more than half" expect all this to come out one day. I allow that it may not and I'm completely wrong. So not really classic conspiracy thinking. You've clearly put a lot more thought into it than I have anyway.
  14. I'm with you man. Too many weird occurrences that are always met with, "Whatever, that's ridiculous. You're paranoid." I more than half expect it to come out in 20-30 years that they were cheating all along, the league knew about it, but nobody wanted to kill the cash cow, especially at a time where the league had very real worries like concussions, domestic assault, etc.
  15. The Pats know the NFL is "too big to fail." This is just getting ridiculous.
  16. Thin skin may be a weakness, but so is giving access to unfriendly media. Why let anyone on the inside if they constantly seek to sh#t all over you? It's not like they're barring TBN from the media room. They just don't give them exclusives. It's why a pro like Wawrow gets the exclusive interview with Terry, not any of those negative nancies at TBN.
  17. You are absolutely right. I've said it before. I've worked in commercial radio in a major market. I've seen that work done well. (I was just a young punk when I was in the biz, I don't pretend to have done it well myself.) Really, nobody in WNY is doing it well. That's why so many of our media personalities are here for ever and ever and ever. Buffalo/WNY is a tiny media market. Talented young broadcasters and writers will quickly get promoted up and out to a bigger market. Middling talent who can't sharpen their abilities and move on get stuck. And so that's how you end up with Schopp, Maiorana, Sullivan, Roth, et al. I don't wish harm or unemployment on anybody, but sweet Jebus, our WNY sports media outlets need a serious airing-out. Open the windows, get some Lysol!
  18. TSW is not your personal erotica site.
  19. Holy Sh*tsnacks, did you just make that up!? Hilarious!! [high five]
  20. New Era fitted hats always came with flat brims, at least as far back as I can remember, which is when I was first getting them in the early 90s. It makes them easier to stock and display. Then you bent the brim yourself to put the curve in. I even remember some people using a rubberband to break it in like a baseball glove. It's just the fashion now for kids to keep the brim flat, and wear the hat oversized. I do think it looks dumb, but I also don't fault anybody for it. Kids are always going to do listen to music and wear things adults think are stupid, but that says more about the adults' perceptions than the kids' actions. That's how it's always been and always will be.
  21. To me, it's not Tyrod that gives me that feeling. It's the defense that keeps sh*tting the bed that gives me that feeling.
  22. A good idea...until week 3 when his clavicle explodes in a pink cloud of blood and bone splinters.
