  1. Oh, snap! Blistering hot take! Let's take a look at OP's profile, shall we? wppete's Profile wppete's Photo My Information Group Members Active Posts 205 Member Since 02-March 17 Last Active Today, 01:39 AM Looks like he's one of yours, homeslice. Grab him on your way out, would ya?
  2. GUYS, GUYS, if we only carry 43 players on the roster this year it will TOTALLY pay dividends in 2018. I'm SO SICK of ST. DOUG getting PLAYED.
  3. Are they chanting "loose" or "Boo-urns"? Things have really losened up around here since March 2.
  4. And lo, here's another thread containing his name on social media, thus generating heat for him on the Googs. Who cares if he's right? He generates clicks and eyeballs, his bosses are happy. Sounds like we are the ones getting played.
  5. #TheLegendOfMicah?
  6. Terry Pegula drove the white Bronco. Aaron Maybin bought the drinks for the guy that fell off the third deck. Vampires are the world's greatest golfers, but their curse is that they can never prove it. Mario Williams can't beat Contra without the famous cheat code.
  7. Is Seattle's stupid sound-engineered parabolic fake noise stadium also windy? Will he be able to handle the swirling westerlies off the Lake they call Erie?
  8. And also allowed for the doomed Baby Gronk experiment to play out fully.
  9. I find myself on the fence on this topic. On one hand, they're adults, they can weigh the risks and make their own decisions. On the other hand, very often the need to start considering chemical enhancement begins pretty young, in college or before. So you have kids getting into it. It's a pretty sticky wicket. To the masses and casual fans who just wanted to watch Sammy and Mark hit dingers in the summer of 1998, yes. I would argue a significant percentage of hardcore baseball fans (I count myself among those) love the game either way and don't care about explosive offense. In fact I love good defense and low-scoring games, in general, no matter the sport.
  10. Josh Lyman? You post here too?
  11. THANKS, MEAT, FOR YOU SEE I AM ILLITERATE AND ONLY POST BY USING TELEPATHY. SOMETIMES I FORGET TO PICK MY NOSE TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK.
  12. Dog Pee Bingo?? YES! Get right on it!
  13. FLUKER? I DON'T EVEN KNOW HER! #sorrynotsorry
  14. I do now understand what you are saying. Yeah, that's kinda weird. Anyway, I get the loving an online community and being bummed when it goes away without notice. And I get that a few threads and ample time for spleen-venting are necessary. It's still a huge influx of people talking about things many of us know nothing about. So it's been almost as weird for longtime TSWers as it has for former BBMBers.
  15. No, the ex girlfriend is BBMB. She ran off to Belize, snitched on Tony Soprano, whatever. Now there's a nice new girl, TSW, and the constant pining for BBMB and post-mortems on all the inconsiderate things she did starts weirding everyone out.
  16. More like whining about your ex-girlfriend at your new girlfriend's parents' dinner table.
  17. Why is anybody surprised that a message board hosted on a company's own dime didn't suffer criticism and ultimately shut down without notice? I can't believe that dumpster fire wasn't put out years ago.
  18. Not necessarily. Look, I'm not that old, but I'm old enough to remember the dial-up BBS days, message boards back before everybody and their brother had internet access. There was something nice about that, a tight knit and savvy group of people gathered online around a shared interest. Then broadband access in every home happened, everybody got online, and as things diluted, that niche feeling disappeared. One of the main things I liked about TSW was it still had a little bit of that old-school online vibe. Was it free from trolls and other malcontents? Certainly not. Am I the most well-behaved denizen here? Hell no. A good percentage of my contributions tend to be in the form of sarcasm. But at the end of the day, I knew this was a place I could come to read a lot of interesting content by smart people. Like a small gathering of like-minded buddies at a bar, shooting the sh*t. Now I fear it's headed more in the direction of the beer tent at a county fair. Still fun, but a lot noisier, and a lot more bad behavior. But that's what happens. Progress, right?

  20. New quality posters are always welcome, and it's obvious at least a few sharp cookies have come over. But BBMB was an elementary school dumpster fire in a lot of ways, and many of us stuck to this forum for that very reason. Jesus, the animated gifs, the signatures, the free-for-all dozens of threads on any given topic... I'm sure there was some quality content buried in there somewhere, but the place gave me a seizure. And I'll just say that my preference for TSW is mainly due to the efforts of SDS and company to run a tight ship. I think others share that assessment. It remains to be seen how the personality of TSW will be affected in the long term. Right now at the moment of transition, during the offseason, is probably not an accurate barometer. I'll choose to be cautiously optimistic.
  21. That's bananas, Foster.
  22. Patently untrue. I am also sensitive to my own opinions.
