  1. But there are curfews and designated nights off at camp. Seems easier to control a bunch of dudes when they're in one building vs. staying all over town. And it's not like Buffalo is actually "home" for most of these guys anyway. So I posit that the partying is more likely to occur when they are in Buffalo vs away at camp.
  2. Right, being away from family, and any usual comforts and trappings should motivate them to focus.
  3. If McDermott is around that long (for a fifth season) presumably he's doing well enough to start calling such shots. In that case, I would be more amenable to training camp leaving ROC. But for now, I know I sure as hell like it where it is. The "sleeping in their own beds" thing from the previous (mis?)quote strikes me as weird for a coach who is supposed to be a hardass.
  4. That revolving door is why I stopped buying active player jerseys. My B. Smith #78 will never, ever go out of style. Unless he kills his ex wife and a waiter. But even then...
  5. I hear what you're saying... Maybe it is the ultimate direction of things, but it would be a shame. Bills camp regularly gets written up as one of the best training camps in the NFL, for the fan experience. Peter King always raves about it.
  6. With all they've done to build it up? I can't see that happening. Plus I'd be pissed. I drive from ROC for every home game. I like the opportunity to see them right in my backyard.
  7. Yeah, like I said upthread, every area of the stadium has its pros and cons, and it's up to the individual to decide what's right for them. You can't objectively say any one area is complete sh*t. (Even the cheapest seats. For some, that's the only way they're able to get in to a live NFL game.) I get that people like the upper deck for an overall view of the entire game. My wife and I have sat up there and in literally every other price point the stadium offers over the last 15 years or so (except the big club in the tunnel end behind glass), and for us, our corner is where it's at.
  8. Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. We sit in 127, corner end zone, tunnel end, Bills side, 12th row. Half the cool stuff happens on the other end of the field, yes. But half the cool stuff happens right in front of us. That kick return for a TD Spiller had against the Dolphins. Sammys first career touchdown. Johnny Eightball getting smeared by Kyle Williams. Those are just off the top of my head for the last few years. And you wanna talk about loud? Holy hell, do we get loud, especially when the visitors O is working in our end. As long as we are spouting opinions, I think the upper deck blows. You're too far away, and get the absolute worst of the elements. Whether it's sun, heat, rain, cold, wind or snow, it's all magnified up there. If you want the perfect angle to see the field, just watch the game on tv.
  9. Agreed. Every section has its pros and cons. It all comes down to trying different things and figuring out what works best for you.
  10. I'd say it's about a 1,000% chance this was simply a marketing stunt.
  11. Heh. I figured I'd get at least one of the new guys with that old gag. I am humbled by your epithet.
  12. Low carbs, clean living and strong mods who enforce a "no duplicate threads" rule? That, too.
  13. Follow-through. Attention to detail. It's what always separated TSW from... those other places.
  14. Cursory internet search shows that BWI doesn't even have a gate E10. http://www.bwiairport.com/files/pdfs/bwi_maps/tmg_0309.pdf
  15. I hope that Smith guy from VaTech pans out.
