    I have had a few occasions to run into Chris Brown through a mutual interest of ours. I got to ask him a few years ago (post-Marrone) about the coffee with the coach segments with Marrone, and if Marrone was as angry about being there as he looked. Brown told me they described those segments behind the scenes as "Coffee with the Crotch."

    Can confirm. Lived down there for years. Was at the last Bills/Panthers game in CLT. Panthers are just a distraction until ACC basketball gets going.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, because I really don't know that much about sports books... But isn't the whole point for Vegas to get equal action on either side, and so it really is more about public perception than what they actually think will happen on the field?

    It's probably fair to say a rookie head coach didn't empty his entire bag of tricks in his first game. At the very least, gameplanning for $cam Newton is going to be a lot different, so I think it's reasonable to expect a few different looks next week.

    Don't be obtuse, it's right there in your headline: "Rare." And I'll thank you for not referring to me as a "Charlotte Person." I lived in RTP for a number of years, not Charlotte. Charlotte is a bank branch that kept growing until they legally had to call it a "city." Literally every other part of NC is more interesting.
