Sure was. I was there not at the end, but during the initial death throes. Steve Mindich held on as long as he could. I'm pretty sure FNX was the very last independently owned alternative rock station in a major US market. I wasn't a staple on air or anything, but I did a few things trying to work my way up while also working on the street team. This was the early 2000s when satellite radio was cranking up, conglomerates were buying stations left and right, and career prospects in terrestrial radio went from bad to worse. After a few years I bailed for things like health insurance and getting married. I don't regret it, but I do miss it.

You're not wrong. I went to work for WFNX in Boston in the early 2000s. Turns out, that wasn't a great time to be getting into commercial terrestrial radio. But Howard and Jeremy aren't even the most amateurish show on WGR, by far. Believe me, I'm kind of a snob about production values. But nowhere else can we hear as much Bills radio content, so I suck it up and deal because I like hearing about my team.

As someone who has worked on-air for a major market radio station, I can tell you you're wrong.
