  1. I keep thinking that too. Whatshisname on the Fox broadcast kept saying he felt like Tyrod was taking more shots vertically than he usually would, when he came in the second half on Sunday. With part of Tyrod’s narrative being that he was always told he wasn’t good enough, maybe this was McDermott’s way of lighting another fire under him. A good coach/manager has to also be a psychologist and understand how people are motivated.
  2. What makes this thread “official”?
  3. Someone mentioned somewhere it was the other knee today. Not sure if true. Bummer either way, I hope he’s ok. I loved that catch.
  4. Alright, one score difference is a blessing right now. Let’s get it going Peter, man!
  5. I think it’s probably true with any organization. Respect for management and everyone having buy-in means less airing out of dirty laundry in public.
  6. The way I’m rationalizing the switch at QB1 is this: The stakes and pressure are so high and the downside to this blowing up in McDermott’s face is so tremendous. If he’s willing to take such a massive risk at such a questionable time, then he must be confident it will work out.
  7. Cool send off. Would’ve loved to watch the big gal take off.
  8. He looks kinda like Tony Romo, no?
  9. Little known fact: That’s Ralph Wilson on the right.
  10. Just like Schopp, they roused rabble and got people talking about their coverage. It’s Infotainment designed to generate clicks and attract eyeballs for ratings. They don’t care about the truth any more than talking heads on [insert name of cable news outlet you hate].
  11. I was talking up Peterman the moment Jim Kelly retired. You’re welcome.

  13. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that just a matter of minutes before the presser? By that point, plenty of people in the building would have known, assuming they made an internal announcement to the team and key staff. I think the point is that we are hearing nothing in dribs and drabs leading up to major moves, and certainly not hearing hours or days in advance that something is going down. Unless you count Dareus moping late one night on the Chip Strip that he’s being shopped around.
  14. This. [runs away]
  15. After giving up 80 points in two weeks, I was just about ready to write-off this season. At least now the rest of the games are somewhat compelling, as we will get to see what Peterman can do. And hey, the AFC is so shi##y overall, that maybe an 8-8 team sneaks into the 6th seed, and we're that happy accident. Stranger things have happened (Seahawks got in with 7-9 that year).
  16. So Gruden says good QBs make your whole team better and your fans happier. That's some earth-shattering stuff.
  17. You’re not wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s up to your employer to decide and not John in Jax’s Rules of Etiquette. Anyway, nice to see some can’t help but inject their precious snowflake opinions into a thread about a soul-crushing loss a recent Bill went through, and the gut-check of a reaction he and all of his teammates experienced after a nice moment on the field mere hours later.
  18. Oh boy, I think I know who this guy is. And while I don’t know him personally, I think we have a few mutual acquaintances...
  19. I won’t even share his Instagram post, that picture got me right in the feels.
