  1. More like a high-motor gym rat poster.
  2. This is very true. Our tickets are in section 127, so we walk straight into the tunnel end of the stadium, straight to our seats, and rarely have to navigate the concourses. The few times I've walked around the concourses during a game... yikes. Never mind claustrophobia, it seems to me like a safety issue. If there was a fire or some other kind of emergency, people would almost certainly get trampled to death. I do love the Ralph, but it needs to be modernized. New stadium or renovated Ralph, I'm honestly OK with either one. The only thing that would upset me is drastically higher ticket prices and/or PSLs.
  3. The fact that “virtue” and “social justice” have become perjorative terms says a lot about the current state of affairs.
  4. My hatred of Boston teams varies, in both magnitude and origins. I lived in Boston for three years, so I have a pretty good feel for all the teams. The Patriots are cheaters and their fans are bandwagon hoppers. They have no appreciation for the history of the NFL, and most can’t name a single Pats player prior to 2000 not named Bledsoe. Boston is a baseball town and I was happy for them to snap their 86 year drought, despite being a Jays fan. I have kind of a muted disdain for the Bruins, but Boston is also a pretty good hockey town, so like with the Sox, the fans aren’t nearly as annoying as Pats fans. Celtics I have no real problem with, but basketball is also my least favorite of the big four leagues.
  5. My apologies to all the edgelords in here making fun of something a guy can’t help but do, when it sounds an awful lot like making fun of something else he can’t help but be.
  6. LOL black people, amirite??
  7. Peterman all day. He’s got the most recent postseason experience. ?
  8. Sixth-round backups from Michigan. Duh.
  9. Updated opinion from my wife, the medical speech therapist who has worked with a lot of patients in Jim’s predicament: - He’s skinny, but looks good. Way less disfigured than she thought he would at this point. - Note the bottle of water in his back pocket. If he’s drinking water, that means all of his swallowing functions are doing ok. Which is good, because the radiation treatment burns the hell out of your mouth and makes it very dry all the time.
  10. Its a moot point. I can’t find the exact figure, but I remember reading that the Bills have a pretty cheap buyout clause from the contract with Fisher, something like $100k.
  11. I’m with you. I love camp being right down the street. Makes up for the 3-4 hours spent driving for each home game.
  12. Wow, your ex really did a number on you, didn’t she? Sorry, bro.
  13. There isn’t the room on the U of R campus. Only one football field and no place to put another. The campus is surrounded by a river and a cemetery. Not sure which would be harder to move. Plus the dorms aren’t that great.
  14. In the Pantheon with Wang, Levitre & Wood. Also Gucci Onabagel.
  15. Did great. Moved down exactly one row from 15 to 14, on the aisle, lower bowl. Now we are next to our friends instead of kitty corner to them. Whoever owned these two seats literally ALWAYS had them up for sale, so I wonder if they fell victim to the new rules.
  16. I know people who worked for him back in the early 2000’s, before he had any real power, and I am told he was a total cad even then.
  17. “So much for Objective Journalism. Don't bother to look for it here--not under any byline of mine; or anyone else I can think of. With the possible exception of things like box scores, race results, and stock market tabulations, there is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms.” - Hunter S. Thompson
  18. I haven’t known any former professional athletes, but I’ve known a number of former D1 athletes who have a hell of a time keeping weight OFF after their playing days are over. Seems they can have trouble adjusting their caloric intake down after all the years of having to exercise and thus eat like crazy.
  19. Surely this hasn’t been discussed before, and definitely not with a Q&A from an actual Buffalo News editor willing to engage people on the topic.
  20. Exactly, that statement really said almost literally nothing about the future, other than they're "preparing" for camp there this summer, which isn't the same as being committed to camp there this summer. Loopholes big enough to drive a Pittsford Central School District bus through.
  21. I believe they are signed through 2021 or something like that, but there's also a pretty inexpensive buyout option, something like $100k, IIRC. A friend of mine is pretty high up the food chain at Fisher, and he told me last year the feelings there are that the Bills will be pulling training camp out. I think it's a massive bummer. The atmosphere there is just electric, and as a Rochestarian I love having camp here. The setup, by all accounts, is the envy of the league. And I love that I can be at camp in 10 minutes, vs. the 90 minute drive we make eight times a year for home games.
