  1. Phew! As soon as I saw a "DC Tom qouted you" notification, I thought he'd be calling ME an idiot!
  2. A coworker recently said preseason football is sad because it means summer is coming to an end. I disagree, preseason football is awesome because it means fall is coming!
  3. "Your 2017 record: 6-10, but oh my God you never heard people hype up a 6-10 record more than these fans. Those first nine straight losses still count, you !@#$s. You don’t get to burn those off the ledger just because you traded for Italian Clark Kent." ??? Now THAT'S a strong opening line. I haven’t even read the rest of it yet and can already say it’s my favorite one so far.
  4. Kicking people when they're down is an Olympic-level sport in Philadelphia.
  5. Better, even. Depends on where you go though. Like our brothers and sisters in Buffalo often say about Anchor Bar, just because Tahou’s is where they originated doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the best plate. @SDS, we need an angry button for “God&$@$, you got me.”
  6. It may not be likely, but it’s not “delusional.” He’s currently holding out and is on record calling Buffalo “his city.” ”Delusional” is proposing trades for Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, etc.
  7. Yes, I will say that many of my friends from around the country who are fans of other teams do view Bills Mafia as largely good-natured.
  8. An embarrassment? Kinda, sorta. What embarrasses me is the perception that ALL Bills fans behave that way, when in reality you have to really go searching for these antics. I've been a season ticket holder for years, and have partied in a number of private lots. Only once did I ever see a guy climb up on top of a vehicle like he was going to jump off of it, only to have the private lot owners come sprinting over and yell at him to get down. What also embarrasses me is how these kids are just manufacturing these incidents to go for the viral videos. I guess that stems from my age, and the fact that I was one of the very last generations to come up before digital photography, smart phones and social media were the norm. I'm not saying I was a saint when I was in my 20s, but I am glad no digital recordings from that time exist. I question the incessant need to record and document these things online forevermore.
  9. “Mike Francesa quit and then un-quit because no one else would hire him. Mike Francesa has a mouth full of veneers and a head full of soup.” ?
  10. I just went back and watched some of the video compilations of the fan reactions to the Bengals TD. It's a good way to lift your spirits. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/watch-the-best-of-bills-fan-reactions-20183245
  11. I’ve been here the better part of a decade and can probably count on one hand the number of threads I’ve started. I’m not part of the problem, Slick.
  12. Looks like the Red Rifle is making plans for his visit to Buffalo at the end of August. Good on ya, Andy. Also, the crowd is going to lose its mind when the Bengals take the field. I know it’s only preseason, but warmest reception ever for a visiting team?
  13. No, it’s because Lansdowne Street runs directly behind the wall, and it’s a major thoroughfare with bars, restaurants, clubs, etc.
  14. Oh, yeah, I love taking back roads home, especially early in the season when we still have daylight. We park on Big Tree, so we’ll just take 20A through Orchard Park, East Aurora and continue on as far as we like and enjoy that pretty drive, especially when the leaves are changing.
  15. Great point about Corning. And yeah, further evidence that a downtown location doesn’t shorten anyone’s drive except our friends in Canuckistan. But the drive isn’t a big deal to me anyway. My wife and I enjoy it, it’s time to ourselves while the little ones are with grandparents. Like many, I don’t feel the Bills NEED a new stadium, but I’ve pretty much accepted the inevitability that it will happen. My only hope is that the Pegulas appreciate their market enough to not jack up the prices TOO much. Yeah, it’s come up on here before too. There are even some who don’t feel Rochester is part of WNY, which is hilarious to me. We used to be the same area code for cryin out loud.
  16. Thing is, a downtown location doesn’t mean any quicker of a drive from ROC and points east along the thruway. Google Maps tells me an hour and 15 to Key Bank Center from my house, and an hour and 19 to OBD. It’d mean a shorter trip from southern Ontario and that’s about it.
