  1. I'm as cynical as anyone, but lordy, with the changes to the defense we've already had this offseason, if we actually get a healthy Merriman back on top of all that? We could be one of the greatest stories in the league next year.
  2. How many people were asking that question in Indianapolis before last year?
  3. I'm no statistician, but 16 games is such a small number in terms of being a sample size, you're probably going to find something weirdly lopsided in everyone's schedule.
  4. Great thread. I think it's now clear what we need to do. Why bother drafting anyone at all? Boycott the draft, then Buddy can take the money the franchise saves on airfare and hotel and upgrade the urinal troughs.
  5. Great idea. That's about what I ended up paying for it anyway after calling every summer to "cancel."
  6. The Repo Men. They come when you don't pay the Bills. And they REPOssess your things. Like the ball, for instance.
  7. That sounds kind of BS-ish to me. I'm sure the stadium isn't "wired" for some things, but every single game I saw from the Ralph last year on Sunday Ticket was in brilliant high definition.
  8. This is a great point. We've had a good offseason, and I think Nix's approval rating is high, so it's not like people are bashing him left and right. But no matter what you think of him and his team, these guys are world-class talent evaluators. You simply don't rise to this level if you're not. Mock drafts are fun and a good way to pass the time, but they're ultimately useless, and like you, I won't ever pretend to know or understand more than a high-ranking NFL executive. I don't necessarily know on-field talent when I see it, but I know the "baby" Nix talks about when I see it, and I hope we see it very soon.
  9. Meaningful games in December will sell out. We as a fanbase are so starved for success, it will happen. If the games are meaningful. Guaranteed.
  10. Exactly. That's the typical chowderhead response.
  11. Seattle actually makes a ton of sense given their similar proximity to the border, albeit on the west coast.
  12. Yes, and "expanding" the footprint by building outside the stadium and covering those areas will widen concourse inside, but also I think expand access points outside, maybe keep the gates from getting to congested at noon-12:30 when everyone's headed in.
  13. That's exactly how the cynic in me looked at the Mario Williams signing. At first the fan in me was like "Sweet!" Then the cynic in me was like "Hmm... This certainly looks like an attempt to bolster political capital/public opinion at the onset of stadium lease negotiations." But then the fan in me came back and said: "Shut up! If it helps us WIN, who cares??"
  14. I thought it was dyra?
  15. I had a dream last night that today the schedule was getting a physical and meeting with a realtor.
  16. Local tv reporters caught up with the schedule at the bus station while covering the St. Bonaventure Dungeons & Dragons team on their way to a tournament.
  17. PFT reporting the schedule has checked out of Luke Russert's hotel and is on its way to Chicago.
  18. I get your point, but plenty of us have moved away and continue to support the team. We have a pair of season tickets, as do many, many other transplants. They're so cheap (compared to other teams) and pretty easy to get rid of without losing too much money, if you lose any money at all. We'll make it to 2-3 games this year probably, and unload the rest.
  19. "How Deep is Your Love" by the Bee Gees. Meh.
  20. We owed a bit this year, but I'd much rather owe a little or just break even. Getting a big refund equates to an interest-free loan for the government all year. Say you get a $1,000 refund. I'd much rather just put that $83 per month to work for me over the course of the year.
  21. So when will we know Mario's number? Double-zero would be kinda sweet though.
  22. That's cool, I love this stuff. Unrelated, but I remember reading once about the longest uninterrupted string of transactions in MLB could be traced all the way back to the Philadelphia Athletics in like the 1920s. I wonder if there is a website where sports geeks can track this kind of thing?
