Yeah, either way I'm looking forward to watching the first 10 picks unfold tonight. I was stuck at a work event out of town last year for the draft, so I kept checking my phone constantly. I feel there was a lot less drama and uncertainty last year with having the #3 pick, we knew we would basically end up with one of three studs.

I'm no statistician, but 16 games is such a small number in terms of being a sample size, you're probably going to find something weirdly lopsided in everyone's schedule.

Great thread. I think it's now clear what we need to do. Why bother drafting anyone at all? Boycott the draft, then Buddy can take the money the franchise saves on airfare and hotel and upgrade the urinal troughs.

This is a great point. We've had a good offseason, and I think Nix's approval rating is high, so it's not like people are bashing him left and right. But no matter what you think of him and his team, these guys are world-class talent evaluators. You simply don't rise to this level if you're not. Mock drafts are fun and a good way to pass the time, but they're ultimately useless, and like you, I won't ever pretend to know or understand more than a high-ranking NFL executive. I don't necessarily know on-field talent when I see it, but I know the "baby" Nix talks about when I see it, and I hope we see it very soon.

Meaningful games in December will sell out. We as a fanbase are so starved for success, it will happen. If the games are meaningful. Guaranteed.

Yes, and "expanding" the footprint by building outside the stadium and covering those areas will widen concourse inside, but also I think expand access points outside, maybe keep the gates from getting to congested at noon-12:30 when everyone's headed in.

That's exactly how the cynic in me looked at the Mario Williams signing. At first the fan in me was like "Sweet!" Then the cynic in me was like "Hmm... This certainly looks like an attempt to bolster political capital/public opinion at the onset of stadium lease negotiations." But then the fan in me came back and said: "Shut up! If it helps us WIN, who cares??"
