  1. Sure, whatever. My point is, give those with designs on going pro the option to play in the USFL instead. Instantly reduce, but maybe not eliminate, the role of money, corruption and slimy figures in college sports.
  2. Wow, so a guy kinda goofed on one play while kinda doing what he was coached to do. If only we had members of this Internet message board in the war room on draft day instead of highly-paid professional scouts and talent evaluators, we never would've wasted a late-round pick on this guy who will obviously do nothing but freeze up every time the ball is snapped.
  3. Exactly. What's the tiny percentage of college football players that ever play a down in the NFL? It's gotta be less than 5%. Skim that small amount of talent off the top, send them to the USFL, and it's not like Michigan/Ohio State, Auburn/Bama or any other college game with rabid fanbases will be any less compelling. Then all the scuzzball agents, jewelers and other assorted gladhanders are free to glom onto the USFL players.
  4. They should make it a true minor/developmental league for the NFL. Then all the professional caliber prospects can go play there instead of the NCAA. Get all the ridiculous money and corruption out of college sports.
  5. Not sure if anyone has pointed out yet that the link is busted. But thanks, I've been enjoying your blog. Lighthearted, amusing and still substantive.
  6. Look no further than Garrison Sanborn and Mario Williams. After that, it's the Battle of Who Could Care Less.
  7. Well, I'm convinced. I am so f*#+ing done with this team.
  8. Well, you know what they say. $100k here, $100k there... Add it all up, and pretty soon you're talking about some real money.
  9. Ha! Watch it, bub.
  10. Graham's agent is cheap! Exactly. Or as I like to put it, "Gettin' PAID" vs. "Happy to Be Here." TJ and his third round brethren are somewhere in the middle. Once someone at the top budges, the rest will fall like dominoes into a de facto slotting system. This isn't about greed or spite or anything else. These are the guys who probably won't be set for life with their rookie deals. I don't begrudge them or their agents at all for treading carefully.
  11. Thanks for the tips! So we should have no problem then. My wife is hot and our son is super cute (I'll just be sure to hide my ugly mug). He's only 2, so I'll probably hold him up or put him on my shoulders. I do seem to remember reading something about an autograph tent with designated times and players. Will keep an eye out for that too. Especially since we'll only be a few miles away, we can be flexible with our schedule.
  12. We'll be in town visiting family and will plan to make the trip once or twice. My folks live just a few miles from SJF. My little boy just got a #13 jersey this offseason that we hope to get autographed!
  13. Wood you say he's strong as an oak?
  14. I love WNY for the summertime. The Canal, the Finger Lakes, the Great Lakes, the Genesee River. Letchworth State Park (where my wife and I got married). I love the fall. I love ice skating outdoors. I love not having to search for good pizza, good wings or good Italian food. I love the proximity to Canada. I love that the crappy weather makes you truly appreciate good weather. Oh, and the Bills.
  15. Typical chowderhead nonsense. I especially like the guy calling out Anderson for being no more than a situational pass rusher. I'll take a situational guy with 10 sacks any day. I wouldn't expect any more from a city that only discovered it had a football team 10 years ago.
  16. The potential ownership groups have finished dinner at Tempo, checked out of their hotel and are en route to Chicago.
  17. Gotta manufacture controversy to keep the clicks and eyeballs coming in what is probably the quietest time on the NFL calendar.
  18. He's old, he sucks, he's bad for chemistry. Oh, and he's an idiot.
  19. He obviously hasn't read any of the 13 threads on Fitzgibbons' accuracy.
  20. See, that's why I feel we're hearing these rumblings re: the ownership question now, while lease negotiations are going on. I don't think you can seriously talk behind closed doors about either issue without addressing the other. So, that leads me to believe we'll be hearing about both the stadium and a possible succession plan this summer. But of course the caveat is that I don't know sh*t about sh*t and this is based on nothing but how it all sounds in my head. Along with the voices.
  21. Last chance to look at me, Hector!
  22. With one of the biggest offseasons for this team ever, stadium lease negotiations (apparently) going smoothly and pretty quickly, and the reports about a lot going on behind the scenes... I don't know, it just makes me think some sort of long range plan is imminent.
