  1. I agree with everything in your post except choice of plate. Everybody knows a white hot plate with extra mustard is the way to go. Your post also makes me thankful my folks live like half a mile from one of the satellite parking lots. If I didn't already know where it was, it sounds like kind of a circus to find them.
  2. I'm pleasantly surprised the NCAA is showing some teeth on this, even if it's not the "death penalty" per se. Though maybe it might as well be. SMU was only shut down one year, and it critically impacted that program and even their conference for years, some would say even to this day. Though obviously the B1G will probably be fine as a conference. It will be interesting to watch what happens to the program, that's for sure. Part of me is glad to see punishment meted out, but part of me also wants to see that once-proud program rebuilt. And hopefully will serve as a warning to any other program that may ever come across any internal transgressions they feel is worth covering up.
  3. Anything more than 0% Merriman is gravy. I wish him all the very best in the world, that's for sure.
  4. Good god I can't wait for the season to start.
  5. Teams play games with the injury report all the time. I remember reading Belichick puts Brady or somebody on it every week basically for no other reason than to be a dick. And teams will under-report injuries to hide weaknesses. "Chest injury - he's probable" instead of "OMG cracked rib - have at him pass rushers!"
  6. Just about every body involved has admitted it to some extent, some more begrudgingly than others. His teammates, Fitz himself, even Chan. Have we seen the x-rays ourselves? No. But if you require hard evidence that would hold up in a court of law to be convinced... Well, then I don't know how you can believe anything at all.
  7. OR benefit from massive anti-trust exemptions? The OP's use of "John Galt" tells me he's just spewing Ayn Rand arglebargle while the rest of us are living in the real world. As if NFL owners belong on the same mythical, bootstrappy pedestal as Shrugging Atlas entrepreneurs.
  8. It's not so much that he's greedy as that he's arrogant. Hasn't proven himself on the field yet, dontcha know.
  9. I think you're right, Fouts only does college. He always struck me as a bright guy, I thought he might be good. It seems like football lacks bright former players who are excellent commentators. Orel Hershiser, for instance, I could listen to for hours.
  10. Who is a smart, former player that would make a good analyst? Dan Fouts?
  11. There is water at the bottom of the ocean.
  12. A buddy and I from home were just kids in junior high/high school during the early 90s run. We now live on different sides of the country, far from WNY. We've made a pact to be there at the game when the Bills get back.
  13. First he said Dareus was the most important player on the team. Jeez, this guy is changing his opinion, like, every day. For, like, 43 days. Flip flop much?
  14. Yeah, it certainly helps if your contract has lapsed. Mine had. It's generally good practice in a negotiation not to threaten to do something unless you can actually follow through with it.
  15. I remember reading he not only finished high school early but also was an honors/deans list student at South Carolina. (Which, granted, coming from an SEC school is a bit like being the tallest midget.)
  16. I have a buddy who lives in Vegas and will place bets for friends. He put a hundy on the Bills to win the SB at 75:1 odds. If he wins, he's throwing a big party.
  17. Boo ya. Sunday Ticket Max for free, plus $20 off for 12 months. The initial person I spoke to offered me like $10 bucks for 3 months, some free movie channels and nothing on the Sunday ticket. I said "No wiggle room?" She said "nope." I held firm and she transferred me to "the people who could do the disconnection." I was on hold for about 20 minutes, so obviously they're playing the waiting game, assuming people will give up and hang up. The next person was way better with the customer service and negotiation, so after some wrangling, I finally got the better offer. I love negotiating, and it's part of what I do every day in my job, so I was happy to hold out for the primo hook-up. But I can definitely see how many people would not want to go through the whole process. It's definitely designed to make you want to cave.
  18. As the father of a two year old, I very much appreciate the Sesame Street reference, thank you. I have seen that clip many, many times.
  19. I am A-OK with being under the radar and expectations around the league remaining low. Barnett's right, the respect has to be earned. That said, it is pretty stupid to call Ocho the best pickup in the division. They don't even know who will be throwing him the ball yet.
  20. Relatively young? Unmarried? Is on a mandatory 12 month furlough from a kickass job? I say, vaya con dios, visor-wearing guy.
  21. TBD is one of my few online vices, and probably the only one that makes network administrators at my workplace go "WTF?" It really is the best online Bills forum I've found with a high quotient of intellIgent posters and not just a bunch of subliterate nitwits flaming each other and constantly starting threads on the same topic. And I've gotta hand it to the mods, who manage to keep things organized. But I also appreciate the collective sense of humor. The Epic, Legendary Mario Williams thread made for more fun than anyone should ever have online without dirty pictures. Also, F5.
