  1. Yeah, it was local yokel coverage all the way. That didn't bother me so much as the continuation of some of the sync and steaming issues on the iPad app again this week. Not nearly as bad as week one, but still irritating. Can't wait for that pure, unadulterated HD signal via DirecTV on Sept. 9!
  2. I'm far from an X's and O's guy, but I too saw not much effort on the part of those who are guaranteed to start opening day. Why should any of them go balls to the wall? They are all known quantities at this point and there are no awards given for preseason performance, either individually or as a team. Get ramped up to the speed of the game and above all else, STAY HEALTHY. That appears to be what we're doing and I'm a-ok with that.
  3. HAI GUISE HAS ANYONE NOTICED THE SUCKY JERSEYS THIS YEAR AND HOW MUCH THEY SUCK?
  4. I just sent this to a buddy of mine who is a Jets fan. He NEVER misses an opportunity to trash talk. His response was surprisingly sober and level-headed. Which makes me think things must REALLY be bad in Joisey. His reponse: "Yeah, I haven't seen a pre-season game, but what I read is not very promising…..for EITHER quarterback. I think there's a good reason why the Dolphins got rid of Sporano. Could be another one of those Jets years." Music to my ears! Now let's get it done, boys!
  5. If that's true, then I could see why we'd be interested. Chan clearly likes multipurpose players. Adds wrinkles, and can maybe free up a roster spot somewhere for things like kickoff specialists. Yeah, that's the other thing though. If he is such a problem child, I doubt we seriously go after him.
  6. If Young has a big game and begins to crystallize as the best #2 option, I think that will begin putting to rest any chance of there actually being a QB controversy. I also expect and hope the O-line will not have ants in their pants this time. I expect to see a little of the running game, even if it's nice and vanilla (don't want to give New Jersey too much of a heads-up on how we'll be utilizing our two-headed monster at RB). Will also be curious to see how the White/Choice #3 RB battle continues to play out.
  7. Complete with animated GIFs and "Adopt a Bill" information. Wtf is that??
  8. A lack of moronic signatures was one of the things that drew me into TBD in the first place.
  9. Chan: I'll let you have this one Shanny, after that drubbin' y'all got up in Canada last year. Shanahan: Mumble, mumble...difference between night and dawn...
  10. Sure thing. Hoping for, even expecting good results. But even if our D is nails on the field like they are on paper, we can't expect to win every game 10-3. Let's git 'er done, boys!
  11. Yup. I'm a huge Fitz fan, but it's put up or shut up time for him. As I've said before, as goes Fitz, so go the 2012 Bills.
  12. Will be in town for the opener against KC, the last game against the Jets, and hopefully at least one other. Selling the rest of my seasons and watching the games on DTV here in NC with a bunch of neighbors and friends who are WNY transplants. And I randomly just met another diehard Bills fan/WNY transplant at the science museum yesterday while our two little kids (born a day apart as it turns out), played together. As all you WNY expats know, we have a strange psychic bond and tend to just kind of find each other.
  13. Thanks. Yeah, I'm just looking for something that indicates he's ACTUALLY feeling his best in 3 years, beyond the usual coach/player speak.
  14. Fiedler would look terrible in the new collar. We better not sign him.
  15. We all know Merriman made it through last preseason and 5-6 games of the regular season before going out on IR. But did he look as "good" or "explosive" last year as people say he does this year? I'm just looking and hoping for any sign that he's actually healthy enough to be effective for a whole season, even in a limited role.
  16. Yeah, but how can anybody take this team seriously with those collars? /runs away
  17. Yeah, while I agree with you in spirit, them's the rules. I had to deal with similar operations in college since it was a small town and the police force had little else to do. And quite frankly, if you're dumb enough to get caught, you deserve whatever happens to you.
  18. For helping Tank's wife with her stroller, and as a parent of a little one myself, I owe you one beer for being such a help with the stroller. Payable on demand. Come see me in section 126 at the opener.
  19. I can only hope we rename the stadium Ralph Lauren Stadium and the team wears red butterfly collars next year, or whatever will make our resident fashionistas happy.
  20. I barely even noticed the collars. You guys are too obsessed with fashion.
  21. I mostly agree, except I find it to be less like an opera and more like an airplane hangar with a transluscent roof. It gives off this eerie light, it's like watching a game under flourescent tubes. [shudder]
  22. I think you tend to go with the vets when it comes to kickers. More than most other positions, those guys need to have ice in their veins. That said, Potter did look like the real deal. I can see him being kept on as the touchback specialist. Powell, on the other hand, is going to have to be hands-down (feet-down?), no-doubt winner to unseat Moorman.
  23. NEWSFLASH: Inebriated, unruly people often attend sporting events. Especially ones that are far from sold out and premium season tickets are going for $5. Film at 11.
  24. LOL, ain't that the truth. My favorite part was when Chan had to explain the rules to the ref while Moorman was bouncing around in the background, blowing a gasket. I swear it looked like Chan took out the red flag and calmly set it down at the ref's feet. Great moment. I'll tell you what I loved seeing: The Redskins going nowhere when they tried to run it against our starting front four. I think the old book on the Bills ("Run it Up the Gut All Day Long") is going to be thrown out. Other than that, I had very little concern. The offense was clearly in tinkering mode, giving Fitz the "keys" and not running the ball at all in the first quarter. It was fun to see live football again!
