  1. We have no proof Brady's not a racist too. He sure throws to Welkah an awful lot. (Kidding. Mostly.)
  2. A pop-up slide or running into the catcher, yes, leading with the spikes, no. It's illegal interference and can lead to being called out. No matter the sport, it's leading with the feet with the intent to injure and a dirty play. Brady's a b*tch and Ty Cobb was too.
  3. Yeah, last night they played a montage of his 3 or 4 injury-causing hits on the Pats the last few years. Not a single one of them looked especially dirty. The Gronk hit, it looked like he just had his legs wrapped up like an old-school tackle.
  4. In baseball we call it "spiking." I played catcher and third base and have scars on the side of each leg from getting spiked by sliding runners. Kicking, spiking, slide tackling, whatever the semantics debate settles on, a dirty play is a dirty play.
  5. Scanning some of the Chowderhead message boards, their defense of Belichick's pissiness comes down to two main points: 1. He and Brady hate losing. Yes, so we should all lay off and be sensitive about their feelings. After all, this league made up entirely of world-class athletes and coaches who have dedicated their lives to a sport? All of THOSE guys like to lose. Brady and Lord Grumbledore are the only ones who are ACTUALLY competitive and DISLIKE defeat. 2. The media have mistreated Belichick ever since "Spygate" (chowderheads actually put it in quotes) and so therefore he doesn't owe the media nothin'. This point is pretty funny because it completely ignores the constant fawning-over the Pats receive. So basically it all comes down to hurt feelings, according to the Massh*les. Well, boys, I think you could all just pop a Midol and get in front of the camera for 90 seconds instead of looking like the bunch of sore-ass losers you are. Happy Patriots Schadenfreude Day, everyone!
  6. That was such a supreme b*tch move by the biggest b*tch QB of them all. Penalty or no penalty.
  7. He's busy hawking money clips in Vegas.
  8. Is being from Rochester, New York, motherf****r also a good enough reason..?
  9. Stock photography is cheap!
  10. The man's got a right to put together a staff as he sees fit. Sure, institutional memory can be useful, but this is football, not business or politics. I remain cautiously optimistic and will be until things look bad on the field.
  11. At this point, I think some here are wondering if Ryan Leaf is available.
  12. Because I think we've already got guys who can go underneath for those 8 yard catches. Plus Welkah would likely command too much money.
  13. As much as I hate Welker for what he always does to us and kinda wish he played for us,I agree with most others. We need tall, rangey WRs who can go up and GET it like a center fielder. And of course, a QB who can get it to them.
  14. Youth, experience as NFL players... This definitely ain't your father's Bills coaching staff. I'm as cautiously optimistic as anyone, but I love what appear to be bold moves not entirely devoid of intelligence.
  15. CAN'T WAIT ...to retire.
  16. The NFL humor blog Kissing Suzy Kolber posted a pretty funny article when Chan was hired, made up fully of Bills' fans very cold and very un-fuzzy reactions. Warning, very NSFW language: http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2010/01/a-children’s-treasury-of-chan-gailey-hatred.html
  17. Oof. I'm 35, and thought I was getting old when guys my age were starting to retire from pro sports. Now they're becoming coaches.
  18. Some Werther's Originals and a couple funny "Life in These United States" stories from Reader's Digest.
  19. I like his bit about not liking to be tagged as an "offensive coach." O-lineman are like catchers in baseball, they have to know everything going on all the time, on both sides of the ball. O-lineman tend to be pretty smart, too. I hope it translates to his coaching.
  20. It's funny that that turned into a joke, because it just started with me saying something in the million page Mario thread about "sitting here hitting F5 with you idiots all day" or something like that, and a few people were like "wait, what does F5 do? holy sh*#, that's so much easier than clicking the refresh button!" I'm proud of my tiny little contribution to TSW lore...
  21. Another thing to think of is most of the guys coming out in this draft, he is probably pretty aware of. Between his own recruiting work at SU and then simply being in the college HC ranks... So you would think he comes in with automatic familiarity with this year's class that some coaching candidates who have been in the NFL wouldn't have.
  22. Phil Knight... isn't cheap enough? I don't know, who are we mad at about this? Can the whiners please fill me in?
  23. Can you catch a falling star without burning your hand? Can you put the sky in your mouth? Can you say to an earthquake..'hey hold still for a second'? No! Such is Bills fans!
  24. Maybe it says something that they went for the younger unknown instead of one of the retreads/known mediocres. Or maybe it's all a regional marketing ploy. But it's an interesting move, for sure. When's the last time we had a HC younger than 50? Mularkey probably?
  25. I KNEW it. Russ is cheap!
