  1. Excellent news. Well on the way to recovery. Now we just gotta hope it doesn't return.
  2. I don't think anyone was HOPING for surgery or murder. But we'll certainly take a sh&tty hand other teams are dealt. God knows we've had enough ourselves.
  3. That is just offensive. Please, for the sake of decency, refer to them as Irish-American Mansions.
  4. I'm more concerned about whether or not he can hit it to the opposite field. If he's a pure pull hitter, defenses will just stack the box on the left side all season long. But seriously, I'm a Jays and Bills fan (likely to get me booed around here, I know), and I love the annual visit and BP with the Jays.
  5. Because the police are not your friends under any circumstances. They are gathering evidence to be later used to implicate someone. If you are squeaky clean, that's all the more reason to have counsel present. Any inconsistencies in a story can later be used against you.
  6. Not necessarily. When you can afford it, shut up and lawyer up.
  7. Boston media is speculating on the identity of the victim... And he's a former semi-pro football player. Weird. "Asked if Lloyd is the person whose body was found in an industrial park in North Attleborough on Monday, the uncle replied: “Possibly.’’ He would not elaborate. He said his nephew had played for the Boston Bandits, a semi-professional football team." 8. Courtesy of the Internet. Thank you, Internet.
  9. In before the haters. I always enjoy your posts and humorous slant on things.
  10. The simple fact that no decent Jet defenders voided their contracts to follow Pettine out of town is clear evidence that we are doomed. Blow it up.
  11. There's also something to be said for leaving a faltering program for the chance to help resurrect a once-proud franchise. Stepping out of Rexy's considerable shadow (in more ways than one) and taking on a challenge like the Bills is a bold and good career move, in my opinion. Now let's just hope it works.
  12. Owning up to a mistake and apologizing? I don't know what's going on, but it must be more trickery. He's a witch! Burn him!!!
  13. A secondary question about that picture... Why is there a ref in the background? Do they have OTAs as well and go to NFL practices to keep their eyes sharp or something?
  14. I'm pretty sure a bunch of guys dressed as Redskins throwing tea off a boat in Boston Harbor was the reason for the Tea Tax departure.
  15. Would you say he represented the cutting edge of running back play?
  16. Who, Flacco and Burt from Sesame Street?
  17. Prayers, good vibes, well wishes, whatever you think works best, broadcast them to WNY.
  18. He appeared in all 16 games for the stillers last year, starting three of those. Not all world, but not exactly camp chum.
  19. Does anybody happen to know where he is having his surgery? Just wondering if he's keeping it local or going to one of the top flight places like Sloan Kettering, MD Anderson, etc.
  20. Every cancer is different and one umbrella cure is not possible. Great strides have been made in certain cancers like skin, prostate, breast and even childhood leukemia where survival rates are many times better than they ever were and in some cases the odds are AGAINST death. Lots of good work is happening and will continue to happen. Genomic research is leading to customized regimens of chemotherapy. Just a few short years ago oncologists would just blast away at your cancer with whatever drugs they had in their arsenal. Now we are beginning to read a person's genetic profile and know what drugs they are more or less likely to respond to. It's amazing stuff. Again, I am not a scientist nor do I pretend to be one. In my line of work, I am around this stuff a lot though, and pick up what I can here and there. In the meantime, we fight as best we can. F#*% cancer! Kick it's ass, Jim!!!
  21. I'm not a scientist or doctor, but I'm pretty sure squamous cells are a broad category of cells within the head and neck and that what Jim has is cancer of the jaw bone, not cancer of the skin as this link suggests. But I will defer to my more learned TSW associates. Also, before the haters swoop in again, all good vibes and well wishes currently being broadcast toward WNY for a speedy recovery. Get well soon, Jimbo!
  22. Hahaha, yeah. The worst is Vaugebooking. When people post things like "OMG, praying for this to end." It sounds like someone is being abused by their husband, but usually it's something ridiculously banal like the person in front of you has 12 items in the 10 items or less line. That's why I only use Facebook status updates for the only two things it should ever be used for: Bitching about sports and quoting random song lyrics.
