  1. Kiko won't make it to the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame will make it to Kiko.
  2. The Canadians. They walk among us. William Shatner. Michael J. Fox. Monty Hall. Mike Myers. Alex Trebek. All of them Canadians. All of them here. Think of your children pledging allegiance to the maple leaf. Mayonnaise on everything. Winter 11 months of the year. Anne Murray - all day, every day. I think you had to grow up within an hour of the border to truly appreciate that movie.
  3. Sounds like he was an old soul, real salt-of-the-earth Western New York type, like all of us. Great story. Seriously, thanks for sharing.
  4. You can if the buyout clause in a lease is less than $200M, which ours is.
  5. You can't own a professional sports team AND a public university in neighboring states. Read a book or somethin.
  6. Furthermore, what is to stop him from taking advantage of the easy-peasy $400,000 buyout written into the lease and moving the team to Penn State. Inquiring minds want to know.
  7. My strategy was to move back to Rochester and ditch Directv altogether. Working out great so far.
  8. "Changes to season tickets coming" I wonder what kind of changes? Pricing? Or something else?
  9. "Tom Golisano is married to Monica Seles" is the new "Fitz went to Harvard."
  10. We just moved back and haven't been in town for training camp in years. How does one acquire tickets these days? Any consideration for season ticket holders?
  11. A few years ago in Durham, NC, at an Enterprise car rental place, I met a guy who played football at Wake Forest and had a brief career in the NFL as a kick returner. We were shooting the breeze about the NFL, and I wish I could remember his name. I told him I was a Bills fan, and he said the moment he decided he didn't want to play football anymore was when he got laid out by London Fletcher on a kick return. He decided the long term physical damage wasn't worth it, plus he was just kind of stringing along anyway, so he bailed. Edit: I should clarify, he was WORKING at the car rental place. Apparently Enterprise partners with the NCAA and hires a bunch of former athletes.
  12. Wow, great info, thanks. That definitely sounds like it makes a move (or expansion) to Canada a whole other ball of wax. Could go a long way toward explaining why the NFL has long been the only league with no presence in Canada.
  13. "The thing about quotes on the internet is that you cannot confirm their validity." -Abraham Lincoln
  14. I think the Bills should look into moving to Banff, Yellowknife or Moosejaw. If we're going to move to Canada, we might as well move to a town with an awesome name.
  15. That's a really interesting point. I knew about the special 501c6 nonprofit status as a "trade federation" or whatever, but didn't even think about the implications of a member franchise being international. Do any of the other leagues (all with teams in Canada) have a similar status?
  16. Voted. I of course expect certain considerations and benefits in the future.
  17. When did everybody get together and decide winter sucks? Why wasn't I at that meeting? Christmas in warm weather just feels wrong. Plus my kids love playing in the snow. I do too. Back on topic, I thought Schwartz's quote referencing Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" was even better. He's telegraphing to potential free agents how young and hip Buffalo is. Championship!
  18. Art appreciates in value. Cars do quite the opposite.
  19. Excellent point. Give me snow over cold rain any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  20. Agree wholeheartedly re: summer. But even in the wintertime... I lived down south for 7 years and moved back to WNY. I am happy to trade the soupy-ass humid-as-hell summers down there for the winters up here. It's easier to warm up in the cold than cool down in the heat.
  21. Everybody hates lawyers until they need one.
