  1. I have been one of several to keep beating that drum about the NFL's special 501c6 non-profit status. I am not an expert by any means, but given my familiarity with the non-profit world, and what little reading up on it I've done, it seems like a pretty formidable hurdle to overcome to have an NFL franchise outside the states. The NHL has been international for 100 years. MLB for 50 years. NBA for 25 years. Did the biggest and most profitable of all the major sports leagues just discover Canada exists as a potential market for relocation/expansion in 2014? Reminds me of that great Homer Simpson quote about geography and Canada: "Oh, Marge, anybody could miss Canada, all tucked away down there."
  2. I think there's a discount at the Bills store at the stadium. I've also found just having a season ticket account rep very helpful just for customer service purposes. I email Don anytime I have a question and he gets right back to me.
  3. I would start buying up domain names now just to be careful and avoid cyber-squatters. TwoRalphWilsonBlvd.com TwoGolisanoWay.com TwoTrumpDriveatTrumpPlace.com DosAvenidaDelPegual.mx etc
  4. Garrison Sanborn. He's our worst long snapper. Nobody disputes this.
  5. Did you ever notice how you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one??
  6. And what's the deal with Grapenuts? No grapes! No nuts!
  7. The Raiders should move to Hamilton. We'll need a crosstown rival.
  8. If you want authentic Italian, you have to check out Sbarro.
  9. I know the board is overwhelmingly in support of Hammer's lot, and understandably so. But a buddy of mine runs a big tailgate in that big private grass lot next to the field house and we've always had a blast there. He's been able to set up a nice standing agreement with them to "reserve" his spot every game day.
  10. I agree we're not a dumpster fire of question marks like in years past. Pinning all of our hopes on a 53-year old Terrell Owens? My god... We've narrowed the dumpster fire of question marks down to a very few, but very key question marks.
  11. From Monday's Buffalo News: http://bills.buffalonews.com/2014/06/23/buffalo-fan-alliance-appoints-two-fans-advisory-board/ As I suspected, they're just finalizing things behind the scenes.
  12. eball did not get elected, so he's off somewhere plotting his political comeback, a la Richard Nixon. The BFA got some decently big names involved on their advisory committee, Andre Reed, Steve Christie, among others, IIRC. Seeing as how they're a nonprofit, and my familiarity with that world, hopefully they're currently working on a mission statement and a feasibility study if they really want to raise money.
  13. I'd go to the wedding and watch figure out how to watch the game at a bar. It's not like you're going to out of town for the home opener and missing a chance to be there in person. My wife would understand. But then, she loves the Bills as much as I do. I feel kind of bad for those who can't share in it with their significant others.
  14. Will the NFL allow Pegula to own the Sabres and the Jills at the same time?
  15. Not a dire issue? That's an even better reason to start a panicky thread about it.
  16. I'm going to go start a new thread about MLBs available via free agency in 2015.
  17. eball's living the club life now. That could very well have been his overture to buying the team. After all, the real prospects keep quiet, right?
  18. Well, you know what they say. $100M here, $100M there, add it all up and pretty soon you're looking at a lot of money.
  19. For what it's worth, I asked my season ticket rep about it, and he said ST holders will get an email soon with instructions for getting training camp tickets.
  20. I'm with you. They don't meet in public to actually discuss anything. They meet in public to create a stir. This is like how LA is more valuable to the league as a threat for a move instead of an actual move. I personally believe, and I am not an expert by any means, but the very special 501c6 non-profit status the NFL enjoys (which is unlike any of the other sports leagues, as discussed elsewhere on this board) would be a SIGNIFICANT hurdle to overcome for a franchise to either relocate or be created in Canada. It could even be looked at as a good reason why a Canadian NFL franchise doesn't exist yet. I don't think a city the size of Toronto (4th largest metro area in N. America) all of the sudden popped up on the NFL's radar screen in the last few years. Every other sports league has had a presence in Canada for the last 25+ years at minimum (NBA) to 100+ years (NHL). Again, I don't pretend to be an expert. But I think there are some serious challenges to the NFL having a team in Canada. But the perception that a team could be relocated there is enough to get the public in a tizzy.
  21. So much for transparency in the process.
