  1. A late-season MNF game against NE could be absolutely epic... But don't forget last year, the leaks had us playing Thxgiving in Detroit and on MNF against the Pack. Taking this with a huge grain of salt.
  2. Leaks both good and bad. Remember all the "reports" last year? Thanksgiving game, Monday night or some sh#t against the Packers...
  3. I can't wait for this! Best part is, my son will be the exact same age I was when I saw my first Star Wars movie in the theater (RotJ).
  4. A. No matter how much you defend her, she's not going to go out with you and B. Not me, not to that degree. Have I been pissed off? Absolutely. Have I let people know it? For sure. Have I stooped to that level of personal insults? No way. You get a lot further in bad customer service situations by being direct and forceful, but respectful.
  5. I typically just look forward to the bye week because I know it's a Sunday that definitely won't end in heartbreak.
  6. It's the same thing as when Long Islanders call everything north and west of the Tappan Zee Bridge "upstate."
  7. Let's talk about an even more important boundary defining WNY: The pop vs. soda line, and that DEFINTELY exists between ROC and Syracuse.
  8. Mind blowing. Makes me wonder where I've been living all these years. In my mind all of what used to be the 716 area code is WNY.
  9. I've been told by many Buffalonians that Rochester is NOT in Western NY. Kinda makes me shake my head.
  10. Something stood out to me at the press conference introducing Rex and has stuck with me ever since. A reporter asked Pegula, Brandon and Whaley if they were surprised by Marrone's opt out. Pegula jumped in immediately, barely letting the reporter finish his question, and said (I forget the exact quote): "Absolutely." His tone, brevity and rapid response made me think, OK, that's the company line and the head guy in charge will naturally leap at the chance to get it out there. I've been a part of enough organizations that have had high-ranking officials step down "on their own" when really they're told behind the scenes "Yeah, listen, you need to take your money and GTFO." We have no way of knowing if that was the case here, and maybe never will, but it wouldnt surprise me in the least.
  11. As long as the dates aren't on holidays or anything, I am likely in for both Philly and DC. I get to both of those cities often for work. I'll definitely be looking to connect with people for tailgating and seats.
  12. I had a nearly identical experience at the game in Denver last year. I was astounded at the lack of "football talk" around us by Broncos fans. No matter where I've sat in the Ralph over the years, most people have at least a pretty good understanding of the rules and basic strategies.
  13. Well, yeah. Except it's not. Obviously I'm peeing in the ocean here against overwhelmingly wrong-headed public opinion. Everybody is assigning a mythical, discounted cash value to the preseason games, as if a.) we are somehow being hoodwinked and b.) in any logical world the Bills would simply slash face value for the preseason games while keeping all the regular season ticket values the same. If I could instantly reduce a preseason ticket face value price by $40 while increasing each of the eight regular season home game ticket prices by $5, keeping the overall ticket price the same, and then use one of those Men In Black memory eraser thingies on you all, then everybody would be happy as pigs in their own filth. Here's why I sleep just fine at night on this issue: 1.) Ours are among the cheapest season tickets in the league. 2.) We have no PSLs. 3.) The kids game can be a hell of a lot of fun for those that take their kids. 4.) One can just donate their unused pre-season tickets to charity and deduct the full face value from their taxes.
  14. But it's much more fun to B word about games that "don't count" and basically make the Spinal Tap "but these go to 11" argument, only in reverse.
  15. The thing about that Vikings/Pats game last year: The Vikings lost Adrian Peterson that very week. Do you think that may have altered their game plan a little? Maybe forced them to throw more than they were comfortable with?
  16. I've never understood the twisted panties over paying for preseason games. Just donate the tickets to a worthy charity like the Boys and Girls Club. Then you can deduct from your taxes the face value of the tickets as a charitable donation.
  17. My kid is in preschool. His classroom has a "dress up" area. Among all the outfits is a little-kid sized Rob Johnson jersey. I am considering donating some other, ANY other jersey to the classroom so I can take the RJ jersey to have it shredded and burned. Also, I don't know how you guys who watched this today subject yourselves to such torment.
  18. That's right, we had the HoF game last year. Regardless, the Bills will make sure it's not a secret once the kid's day game is identified. They really do the hell out of it. I took my boy last year and we both had a ton of fun.
  19. Last year it was the first preseason game. I remember it was particularly bonkers because everyone wanted to check out the renovations and new store. This year it might be equally bonkers, if not more. I haven't been paying much attention, but didn't we get a new coach or something?
