  1. Why does Kim's attitude scare you? That's her expertise and role in the organization, isn't it? So like any division head or VP, her interest in a new hire is how they'll contribute in the area they oversee. Doug Whaley was there for the X's and O's stuff. If Kim was the ONLY person conducting the interview, then there's reason to be scared. Denigrate it all you want, but community relations and PR is tremendously important. And it's not like hiring a prick with a bad attitude automatically gets you any closer to success (see Marrone, Doug).
  2. Does anybody really fret about Rex not being at the "top of the list" from the very beginning of the search? The fact that he wasn't and the fact that the Pegulas are honest about it is kind of refreshing. To me, it indicates an open-minded approach to things.
  3. Dammit, why'd you have to post that? Like I wasn't already impatient enough for the season to start.
  4. Hey, look, it's flat tax guy. Lordy, the season can't get here fast enough.
  5. That's one of the things I do like about it. It's a content aggregator, but you can get very specific with what you want to view. My usual subreddits are my favorite sports teams, my hometown, and my college. But again, the new-fangled way of presenting comments and replies in a dynamic, non-linear way just perplexes me. I find myself reading a reddit topic, reading the replies, then not going back to it later because I can't easily tell what comments have been added since I last visited. As opposed to message boards like this one where it's always crystal clear what content has been added since the last time I was on.
  6. I feel like I'm now one of the fuddy-duddies, but I prefer the linear discussion format on message boards like this one. Reddit, while often a good source of information, confuses the hell out of me with replies and threads constantly moving up and down the page based on up/down votes, number of replies, etc.
  7. Then why did my wife and I have to show the minister a government-issued marriage license before we could be ecclesiastically hitched?
  8. The stories (yours and others') are pretty legendary. Makes it very hard to feel bad for the guy.
  9. Well, think about how much less infrastructure they have to futz around with, versus the cable companies. DirecTV does not require a physical linkage to every single customer.
  10. Me three. I loved DirecTV. Only reason we got rid of it was because we moved back to WNY and ditched cable/satellite altogether. Bills games free over the air, we're at the home games anyway, and we get everything else we could want streaming via Netflix/Hulu, etc. A relevant Suzanne Vega reference on a football message board?? I bow to you, sir.
  11. 5) Goodwin may run for the U.S. Olympic team, but he plays in the AMERICAN Football Conference. Why does he hate America?
  12. Something something cronies something something no playoffs in 15 years something something show me the baby.
  13. This is simply inspired.
  14. If it has to be an Ohio theme:
  15. I thought he changed his name to Old Dirty Chinese Restaurant?
  16. Rex has brought in coaches and players from his unsuccessful tenure in New Jersey. Thus, henceforth and therefore, one can only logically conclude that this team is doomed. You kool aid drinkers can keep drinking your kool aid all the live long day. I am so effing done with this team.
  17. So much dishonorable behavior in this thread!
  18. I think the OP has a point. Surely no coach in the history of professional sports has brought with them to a new gig role-players and second-stringers they might know how to bleed a little talent out of. No, clearly this is about a secret plan to bankrupt the Pegulas, one league-minimum game check at a time.
  19. Hope he got a good deal on those life rights.
