  1. Hey, I get it. But you can't possibly give me any more sh#t than I already take from my friends. The perfectly split affinities are cheeseball, though. I would never dare wear a 50/50 jersey or get one of those dumb license plate frames. I don't own a single piece of Sabres gear and never would. To me, that's disrespectful to both the Leafs and Sabres. For me, it's Leafs first because of my dad and those close ties to Toronto. His Leafs fandom LONG predates the existence of the Sabres. Kind of like the old school Browns fans you find in WNY, dating back to when Cleveland was the closest NFL city. Sabres are the hometown team though, so I can't not pull for them. Just not as much as I pull for the Leafs.
  2. Sure it is. I have deep family connections to Toronto in the Original Six days so I inherited the Leafs as my primary hockey team. But as a Western New Yorker, I'll always pull for the Sabres, just not when they play Toronto.
  3. Wegmans sub, six pack of blue light. (We don't get a lot of time to tailgate these days.)
  4. ...and ever and ever and ever and ever...

  6. Who needs training camp? I, for one, hope this thread goes on forever and ever and ever and ever...
  7. I have a friend named Bill. He's a marine biologist specializing in dolphins. He often gets on a jet to go study them. He loves his country too, a real patriot.
  8. I would think at this point the OL would be best served by a coach in charge of the current scheme and philosophy, rather than promoting a holdover.
  9. Isn't the OL assistant a holdover from the St. Doug regime? Can't Roman just be the OL coach too?
  10. Yes, but he got "neoliberal" in there, and that's the most important thing.
  11. I agree. While I am no fan of "redneck hockey" (or hockey existing anywhere south of Chicago, really), among the "new" teams in all the sports, I really like the Hurricanes whole theme a lot. It very much fits the Carolinas. I also like how they incorporate the vortex into the arena graphics, the red and black swirling around those ribbon video boards. It all works very nicely. I'll also throw the Detroit Tigers out there, the classic white uniform with that fancy script "D." Very cool.
  12. I was raised a Leafs fan and am thus required to hate this team, but I'll be damned if the Detroit Red Wings red sweaters aren't among the most striking and classic in all the major sports. In general, I like the classic, two color designs that have changed very little over the years.
  13. The most important question right now is: How many fingers will he lose?
  14. I've heard from multiple people I trust that have met Thurman Thomas and say he's a grade-A jerk.
  15. For those attending the Giants game on Oct. 4, wouldn't it be a shame if we all bought Giants #1 foam fingers off of eBay and "modified" them slightly? Not saying I plan on it of course. (Not saying I don't either.)
  16. I lived in Boston during the first Super Bowl run in 01-02. That's city's collective reaction was, and I quote: "Hubba-WHAAAA??? We have a football team!?!" I will give Boston their due, though, great baseball town. I lived in Kenmore Square during that same time period, prior to the WS run in 04 and went to more Red Sox games than I could count. It was like getting master's degree in baseball.
  17. Your ideas intrigue me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  18. I'd hate to be the in house attorney for that hospital. That guy is currently having a long f#%king night.
