    Thank you for pointing this out. Web brigades leaving fake comments, or "astroturfing" (fake "grassroots," get it?) to direct conversation is absolutely a real phenomenon in social media. Paid shills will comment on and up-vote all manner of subjects, depending on who is doing the paying.

    Very interesting story, but my god the newspaper business is in terrible shape. They obviously can't afford decent copy editors. Without even trying, I spotted two huge typos in my print edition.

    Yes, Rex surely convinced the various Bills' reporters, who are in direct competition with each other in their various dying media, scrambling for whatever scrap of a story they can find, and are among some of the most jaded, miserable individuals on the planet, to all withhold a huge story because... reasons. Yup, makes total sense. [adjusts tinfoil hat]

    Agreed. Despite the 70's shag-carpet colors, their one redeeming quality used to be the lack of graphics and text. Simple and understated.

    I've believed that from the moment I saw Pegula's reaction at the press conference announcing Rex. A reporter asked the panel if they were surprised Doug opted out. Before the reporter finished the sentence, Terry was on the mic with "Absolutely." To me, it sounded like the CEO getting the company line out there as quickly as possible.
