  1. Roethlisberger starting in one league, and I picked up Markus Wheaton in another. Hoping both take advantage of the suspect chowderhead secondary. Maybe not in this weather though...
  2. I don't think so. I think he's referring back to Marcell's own "dime a dozen" quote when he was asked about how the contract negotiations were going. Edit: But it's still pretty clear Jerry is being a petulant douche.
  3. Except... Those guys you list all pretty much demonstrated they were all-world talents BEFORE they began juicing. Bill B. was a good D-coordinator and a middling HC at best; Brady a backup at Michigan who barely got drafted.
  4. It's amazing. At first it sounds like real paranoid, tin-foil hat kind of stuff, but it's happening. In business, in politics and now sports: a large organization like the NFL, or NBC, with a vested interest in making this all go away, making things seem on the up-and-up, shaping the conversation to their benefit, making it look as "real" as possible. Well, at least it helps one keep their b#llsh#t detector sharp.
  5. Thank you for pointing this out. Web brigades leaving fake comments, or "astroturfing" (fake "grassroots," get it?) to direct conversation is absolutely a real phenomenon in social media. Paid shills will comment on and up-vote all manner of subjects, depending on who is doing the paying.
  6. The Packers do the same thing, right? Any other teams? I think leaders are leaders, special patch on their jersey or not.
  7. F5 = Fifth Linebacker, or the "Frank."
  8. Inside joke. Shoutout to the people I've met in real life. Section, row, seat numbers.
  9. It's a nice problem to have. We're stacked enough with talent that other teams actually want our castaways.
  10. Uh-oh. Rex doesn't have an opt-out clause does he? Triggered by doinked field goals and backwards passes?
  11. I hope this means in the WNY media markets that we get lots of Seahawks games on TV as the late game.
  12. All I can think of is when the Sox traded Nomar Garciaparra and when on to win a championship. Sometimes you gotta make the tough calls that go against popular opinion.
  13. How about we just trade Bob for Nassib? Kill two birds in one bush.
  14. My belief is that it's Roman's call, but Rex has the power to veto.
  15. Good question. Probably best to look at season tickets as a percentage of the whole stadium instead of the raw number.
  16. Thank you. As soon as I read "the media is..." I disregard whatever follows.
  17. Very interesting story, but my god the newspaper business is in terrible shape. They obviously can't afford decent copy editors. Without even trying, I spotted two huge typos in my print edition.
  18. Yes, Rex surely convinced the various Bills' reporters, who are in direct competition with each other in their various dying media, scrambling for whatever scrap of a story they can find, and are among some of the most jaded, miserable individuals on the planet, to all withhold a huge story because... reasons. Yup, makes total sense. [adjusts tinfoil hat]
