  1. I've never been to a draft party, but this format seems different? In the stadium, not the field house? Wondering if it will be worth the drive from ROC on a weeknight.
  2. Well, now I guess he'll just have to be cut without cause.
  3. I'll tell you what else is not unusual: To be loved by anyone.
  4. I hope the game in LA is on a good date, preferably later in the season. We're thinking about making the trip out since we have family in LA we can stay with.
  5. If it were a weather forecast, I'd predict early morning doom, with a front moving through around noontime, clearing the way for afternoon gloom.
  6. Not to mention the fact that the OLD Giants stadium (which is now a parking lot) still has north of $100M in debt that won't be paid off for another decade. Did anybody bother to ask Mara about that? Source: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2010/09/08/sports/08stadium.html
  7. jimmy10 says NFL execs can go pleasure themselves with the business end of a rake.
  8. "Uncertain" status of McCoy? Because of the BS witch hunt in Philly?
  9. You, sir. I like the cut of your jib. "The Backcheat Boys" is an inspired Photoshop job just waiting to happen.
  10. More like making fun of the dumb cliches media folk use when they want to say "white folk" with saying "white folk."
  11. I think he's more the blue collar, lunch pail type.
  12. QFT. College football is shady as hell. Seems like he has the potential to be a good coach, and will no longer have to worry about the "integrity" of "amateur" "student-athletes."
  13. People hang on to paper bag frowny masks long enough for them to gather dust? Paper bags are pretty cheap, why not just get new ones?
  14. Really? I mean, I don't have any links handy or anything, but I honestly remember Houston people saying, "Bah, he's overpaid, you can have him, he's introverted, he's capricious, he's a diva, blah blah blah." I distinctly remember one Houston article about what an introverted weirdo he was, having never gone to a Houston Rockets game after several years there, and when he did, he sat off in a corner of the luxury box, alone. But me, I willfully chose to ignore that because I thought it might do him some good to get out of the spotlight, pressure situation he was in being the #1 overall pick, and also because he said such nice things about Buffalo when he got here. He loved the small town vibe, it reminded him of home, etc, etc. And he was GREAT, for those 2-3 years. He's immensely gifted. My god, have you ever seen him up close? I got to sit right behind the bench once two years ago. Even on an NFL sideline filled with very large human beings, he stands out, built like something out of a comic book! But it seems, when the going got tough for the D last year, he wilted. I'm sad it came to that, but he needed to go. Like I said earlier in this thread, appreciating what Mario did for this team in previous years, and recognizing how things fell off the table last year are not mutually exclusive things.
  15. Funny thing is, we heard all these themes out of Houston when he left there and came here. Many of us stuck our fingers in our ears, myself included. And yeah, when you're producing and times are good, nobody is worried about leadership. I would argue, leadership isn't really tested when things are going well (as they were on the 2014 defense). It's when things aren't going well that real leaders rise up. It sure doesn't seem like Mario did that in 2015. He complained in the media and clearly gave less than full effort at times.
  16. Does Whaley even have anything to do with the salary cap?
  17. A line featuring Wang, Levitre and Wood? The marketing writes itself. The Western New York economy would've been completely reinvigorated by the billions of dollars in tshirt sales alone.
  18. And that also is fair. Me personally, I wanted to root for him so bad and even appreciated his quiet personality. But once he started calling out the scheme this year, that gave me pause. Then to hear the "Rex has to meet me halfway" talk, I was like ehhhh... Then to see the compiled video evidence put together recently sold me. Dude just quit on his team this season. Thanks for the memories, homeslice. Don't let the door hit you in the A.
  19. Acknowledging Mario's greatness in the past and pointing out the embarrassment that was his performance last year are not mutually exclusive things.
  20. I hope we show highlights of Mario's Greatest Slapfights on the Jumbotron at the Fish game this year.
