  1. I'm with you, bro. I've always liked Rex. I think it's because we're both Irish loudmouths. He may very well fail here. But at least he'll leave a Rex-shaped hole in the wall.
  2. I love Richie's point about Rex generating heat in the media to purposely take some measure of attention and pressure away from the players. I saw him do that in NY early in Sanchito's career. Rex is a lot of things, but he ain't dumb.
  3. Flights booked. Anybody know the deal with Rams single game tickets? Poking around online, I can't find any hard info.
  4. I would respect this move if they were just honest and said "Hey, it looks like too many of you dirtbags are lighting yourselves on fire and bumping uglies in ditches. We're just going to have some deputies walking around to try and make sure nobody (else) kills themselves." Otherwise it sounds more like scaremongering in an election year.
  5. Given the proxmity to the longest unprotected border in the world, I think it's a good move.
  6. Have they gotten rid of that bubble head Alexis Vitalios?
  7. Vodka and whiskey used to be potatoes and corn. I say it counts as salad!
  8. In my mind, the main thing right now is a playoff berth to get the drought monkey off of everyone's back. Of course that's not the end goal, but the beginning of long-term growth. If they go deeper than the first round the year the drought snaps? Great! If not, at least we can then say, ok, the clock has been reset. Now focus on getting there again next year.
  9. Can Kirby even own both wine and cheese in the same city at the same time?
  10. The Brian Brohm Experience in Atlanta in 2009. Quite possibly the worst sporting event I've ever attended, at any level. The Jeff Tuel 108 yd pick six happened right in front of me too. That blew.
  11. For a national campaign? Or some local yokel dealership?
  12. Man, 2016 doesn't only have it in for music legends, but sports ones too.
  13. Every time this thread gets bumped back up, I half-expect it to be with news that he was found dead with a needle in his arm.
  14. Cute. But the point is not "survival." It's actually losing much of what's left that makes up the actual kingdom. Used to be the sun never set on the British Empire. Pretty soon it may barely rise on it.
  15. So stolidly British that serious people are now talking about a new, successful Scottish independence referendum and Irish reunification, because Scotland and N. Ireland each voted to Stay. It would appear those who voted Leave with some sort of misguided aim of preserving the United Kingdom might actually have ended it.
  16. Finding it hard to give a flying F. WNY rules. (Though I have been told by many here that being from ROC, I don't count as a WNYer. Which is obviously ridiculous.)
  17. I just want to say I've spent a lot of time in various public and private lots prior to Bills games and never once have I seen anybody thrown into a table. The craziest things I saw last year were a guy in a gorilla suit and two dudes running around, one giving the other a piggy back ride. Whether it's a response to enemies either foreign or domestic, I think it's an overreaction.
  18. Some drunk yokel shot himself in the parking lot last year, so... Yeah.
  19. There was a thread on the Bills subreddit recently. The question was: "What unpopular opinion do you have about the Bills?" Mine was that Rex will be fine as our HC, and just needs time to implement his system and get everyone on the same page. And, if we don't make the playoffs this year, that's not necessarily a good enough reason to can him. My post got upvoted more than any other, so maybe it's not really that unpopular an opinion. But like you, I am hopeful for a postseason spot this year, rendering the question moot.
  20. As long as we're legalizing addictive behavior, when can me and my fellow competitive angel dust smokers finally come out from the shadows?
  21. Maybe, maybe not. But it is pretty funny how so many sound like they have a personal vendetta against Rex. So what? If he sh*ts the bed again, he's out. It's not keeping me up nights.
  22. There are some pretty un-sweet things about the gig, though. NCAA compliance crap, "institutional control," recruiting, much more year-round worry. For some, it's probably a sweeter gig, but I think there's reasons the top coaches in both college and pros are only good in either college or the pros, hardly ever both (with a few exceptions of course).
