  1. I can't fully process what's happening. Maybe these teams switched uniforms?
  2. Oh, I know. But teenagers are huge PITAs no matter what, and we were all there once.
  3. I get it, but don't forget: Some of us started our lives as Bills fans the same way. I was 12-13 and only really starting to pay attention to sports when the Bills started rattling off conference championships. That kid doesn't know a world where the Pats were perennial losers for decades. I don't blame him. It's the 30-40+ somethings who legit only discovered there was a football team playing down there next to Rhode Island in 2002. Those are the dummies I can't stand. My favorite hobby is asking their favorite player on the Pats prior to 2000 not named Bledsoe. Might as well ask them to solve pi. Anyway, sorry for the thread jack. Go Bills. The Pats downfall has to begin someday. Hopefully that day is tomorrow!!
  4. Couch with the kiddoes and the missus. If the game ends poorly, thankfully my kids have lots of great distractions like Legos and a Wii U.
  5. In OP's mind, what is the difference between being "held accountable" vs. "fired"?
  6. Well, then. It's clear what we need to do. Cut Sammy. Fire Rex. ACCOUNTABLE.
  7. Is Joe Blow part of an elite group of salesmen where only 31 other people the world have the same job? Is he given a massive amount of leeway to run his team and the day-to-day operations as he sees fit? And you think the big boss is going to look at the equivalent of dropping a lighthearted, funny one-liner about a leading competitor in the large conference room (while demonstrating an adept knowledge of the company's history) before an all-staff meeting as a prank that doesn't look right?
  8. Not only this, but Rex knows every second the spotlight is on him, that's one less second it's on his players. He's been doing this since the earliest days of Sanchito in New Jersey, and yet so many seem to have an aching yearn to portray Rex as nothing more than an incompetent doofus.
  9. Fair play. There's always exceptions.
  10. Yeah. You never want to be the guy that follows the legend. You want to be the guy who follows the guy who followed the legend.
  11. He's not just a legend, he's an American treasure.
  12. That's the beauty of sitting in the wedge-shaped corner sections. Down where we are, the row is only 8-10 seats wide, so that's never much of an issue.
  13. Maybe Tyrod is annoyed at him for standing up the whole game.
  14. Yeah, and that's where we are, corner end zone by the tunnel. As long as we're not getting completely blown out, we are loud as HELL down there, and even manage to kick it up a notch when the opponent is in our end. The Cards had a false start in our end yesterday, and I'm positive my ear-piercing whistle contributed to it. (Literally, it's ear piercing. My ENT doc has begged me to start wearing ear plugs to games to save what hearing I have left.) It's just how it's always been down there. The people in front and behind me stand. If someone asked nicely, of course I would sit. I questioned it, but in the end complied with the security guy's request yesterday. I'm not some disrespectful/drunken cretin at games, and it kinda bothers me that some here seem to equate my behavior with that.
  15. Man, what an emotional thread! It's like we're talking about Marrone and Hackett's legacies in here! Had no idea I would stir such a pot...
  16. My dad has been partially paralyzed since childhood and is now in a wheelchair. When he comes with, you know where we sit at sporting events? In the handicapped section. Fair point, but I'm not a drunk idiot at games any more. I just feel that false point needed to be shot down. Yeah, I mean, it's just kind of what we've always done in our area. And again, a bunch of us have been there for years and have gotten to know each other. It's like our own neighborhood, and all of the sudden we had an HOA walking around enforcing petty rules.
  17. Ask any singer or radio broadcaster. Standing absolutely allows you to be louder and project better.
  18. I don't know, we had a pretty good sightline when Tyrod and Aaron Williams scored touchdowns right in front of us.
  19. Huh. Seems I touched on some nerves here. I understand both sides of the argument, but I'm just saying it was very odd to be told to sit. First time I ever experienced that outside of the clubs. Many veteran season ticket holders in our area, we couldn't believe it. We've had the same general crew together for years. Oh, well. Gentrification is a B word.
  20. At some point in the second or third quarter yesterday, security went up and down the aisle between sections 126-127 asking everyone to sit down, "because people couldn't see." It was the first time this happened in my six years as a season ticket holder in that section. I explained that to the security guard, and he said he was just doing his job, and there had been a specific complaint. Did anyone else have a similar experience yesterday? We were all pretty dumbfounded by it.
  21. What a bunch of reactionary, pearl-clutching negative nancies. Good thing we don't have anybody like that on this board.
  22. Sounds like you could use a nice chill-out session. Maybe on a boat, maybe with a few drinks.
