  1. Remember last winter when Shanahan came to Buffalo to interview for the coaching job? Then he went on to D.C. to interview there. I remember several posters whining about our "losing" Shanahan and oh, the Bills are so pathetic that and that's why he "rejected" Buffalo. Well, maybe the Bills braintrust rejected him. Who confirmed the "He rejected Buffalo" side of it. Or was that media perception? My main point is, though, look at the mess he's made in D.C. and the direction the two teams are going in. Can Shanahan have very much support of the players after these two McNabb incidents? And all along the way has been the Haynesworth headache. But Chan has the Bills moving in the right direction. Players are still out there playeing hard and competitive (the Minnesota game not withstanding.) And Chan has had much less talent overall to work with. We can look forward to the offseason acquisitions and next season. I have no idea what Redskins fans can look forward to.
  2. Dean, good perspective. I think you're dead on.
  3. I agree. Ok, that's your opinion.
  4. Why not? The Stratten hit was significant in its own way. Moats' hit has helped shape NFL hitory. The consecutive game streak is at 297. A record that will likely never be broken. Its not at 280, or 310 or whatever. Its at 297 because a Bill made the hit that put him out for the following game. How many thousands of times did he drop back to pass or scramble and that streak could have ended? Furthermore, and this remains to be seen yet, but the injury from Moats' hit may be the final straw that influences Favre to retire. One play can change a game, lone play can shape NFL history. Thanks Promo for providing that link.
  5. In the 1963? or 64? AFL Championship game, Bills Linebacker Mike Stratten hit Chargers running back Keith Lincoln as he was trying to catch a flare pass. Stratten broke a few of Lincoln's ribs as he was knocked out of the game. Turned the whole momentum of the game in favour of the Bills. Bills win the championship. The question: In your opinion, how significant was Moats' hit on Favre last week, now that he won't start tonight?
  6. On this morning's Mike & Mike show on ESPN2, they had Mike Ditka on for several minutes. He commented, and I paraphrase here, "There are teams that are still playing hard out there. Like the Buffalo Bills. It ain't pretty, and their record may not show it, but they're still playing hard and with enthusiasm. That's good coaching." Thanks Mike. The game was good to watch yesterday, and that was good to hear today.
  7. I don't care for either team, but I'm sick of the Pats always winning our division. So I guess I'll go for the Jets.
  8. Clearly they're an improving, up-and-coming team! This is the kind of team I wanted to see playing at this time back in Sept/Oct. I knew back then from what I was seeing that it was not going to be about how many W's we can pile up. Too many holes to fill. But come Nov. & beyond, will they being improving? Playing w/ lots of heart? Be competitive in games against good teams, right down to the end? Will everybody out there be busting their butts to make plays. The answer is a resounding yes. Chan really has this team pulling together and excited to play football! And playing good football. Coaches are making adjustments during games and its paying off. Teams are taking notice and teams at this point of the season that are jokeying for a playoff spot but have to play the Bills yet will not take us lightly anymore.
  9. Happy Thanksgiving to all Bills fans. I think we're kind of special. Hope you're spending it w/ loved ones and ones that love you. And a Happy Thanksgiving to all our men and woman overseas. RWR
  10. Because the won't be playing the Bengals.
  11. Yes, I recall Kelly having some games where for about 3 quarters he would stink it up, throws off the mark, some interceptions, what have you. Then, the next time our offense came onto the field, bam, touchdown. And that would be the case for about the next 6 - 7 minutes of play. At the end of the game, a W for the Bills.
  12. Hey Slack, that's GREAT stuff!! I laughed my _ _ _ off on that one. Very good. Very good!
  13. Great post. Got lots of laughs. Thanks for posting it.
  14. I like those cominations. I think you're onto something.
  15. Good suggestion. Thanks.
  16. I feel sorry for the two fellows. I hope they recover soon. What I'm questioning though is that Chan has desigated Donald Jones,an undrafted free agent rookie to take Roscoe's place. BuffaloBills.com was not clear if that meant just for punts, or as a receiver as well. An undrafted rookie to try to fill the shoes of a slot receiver? I would think maybe David Nelson would get the call or, designing plays of the tight ends to be more involved in pass catching. Any thoughts/ideas out there on this????
  17. Thanks man. I'm not trying to do anything "illegal." Got a bad cold, have to stay inside and wanted to know of an alternative way to tune into the game istead of just watching updates from other games on TV. Didn't like NFL Network's "Red Zone" last week either.
  18. Is there a way to watch this Sunday's game via our computer? I live out of state and due to circumstances, I can't go to a local sports bar to watch it, like I usually do. Any input you might have will be greatly appreciated. GO BILLS!
  19. Good point. I agree. With our defense, what have we got to lose?
  20. Good post, APV. I agree. A few weeks ago on the message board, I stated that its not about the wins + losses at that point because there's just too many holes to be filled on both sides of the football. But what I'm focusing on is: Do I see improvemnet in play in areas come Nov + Dec that wasn't there in Sept? And as you pointed out, that's happening. We're playing good teams tough, right down to the end. I don't think we could have played the Ravens the way we did back in Sept. So when we come into December, yes, we may only have 1 or 2 wins (hopefully more that that), but we're playing quality teams really tough. Thats improvement. During the previous coaching regimes (Jouron, Malarky, Williams) we didn't have that.
  21. Agree a 1000 times. Once we got to the 50 yd. line in last few mins. in regulation and in OT, it was like Chan was intoxicated w/ the pass, one dimensional. All during the game, Fred was getting 3 to 5 yds per crack. I don't understand it.
  22. Eh, even if the defense does improve, better make that 28 pts a game.
  23. Great post. I agree w/ it all. Intelligenly described and clearly, we are witnessing something good "on the move" with the team. I know we'll have our bad times in the following games. but this is a real good post that inspired other, positive, and intelligently discussed posts in response to your. RWR
  24. Hey Mr. Wonderful, you're a low class, no brained jerk.I suppose you think you're clever and cool and, you're no doubt clueless to the point where you're probably impressed w/ yourself.
