  1. FWIW eball, I share your feelings, it is irritating. But you hit the nail on the head in your final statement.
  2. Jack Nicklous would play TE? Agree, especially in the Red Zone, even inside the 30 yard line. He's got speed, good hands and physicality. Man, it's right there for the pickins!
  3. The Emporer will be in a sour mood It's from the Emporer that the team has been so detailed oriented for so many years.
  4. That's the sports equivalent of Cleveland being sacked the Norsmen.
  5. Too many missed tackles showed that their heads weren't in the game. NE is a very detailed oriented team, but with this fault, I'm guessing they thought the Bills were very beatable and so they took them lightly. GoBills! (and PFNH, thanks for the earlier compliments) That's my take, too.
  6. R U kidding pal? Why would anyone be thinking of this after 1 wln, let alone taking the time to post it??? It's like these people that have to find a negative about a positive thing. A win is a win, that's the important thing. Besides, there's 13 more ball games left. Bring up "playoff implications" after 1 win? Really?
  7. No. The curse of Booth Lusteg. Look it up. It's real.
  8. lamp, does that mean laugh at my pants? Laugh at my parents? How about, "laugh at my post'? Anyway, congrats on getting married.
  9. I think you're right. The past "results" if you want to call it that, speaks for itself.
  10. Yup! They just don't know how to really turn things around.
  11. Gleason's article hits on another feature of the repeated futility of the Bills franchise. The Bills franchise (front office) doesn't really know how to "start over." During the past 16 years, with all the coaching changes, player personnel changes and the like, the same poor results keep repeating year in and year out. Yeh, the Eagles right now are where the Bills should be. Lots of teams over the last 16 years have been. A few years ago Denver had the 2nd pick in the draft because the previous year they were aweful. We had the 3rd pick overall & got Darious (sp?) Denver immediatley rebounds & wins the SB. Oakland sucked a few years ago, but Jack Del Rio has that team balling. Are there lots of Bills fans right now confident that we're going to turn this thing around this year and pick up 10 - 11 wins? Not what I've been reading on the message board. The ineptitude of the franchise to just get moderate results is astoundingly bad. Anyway, thats my rant for the day.
  12. With this new OC, I want to see if, A. the Bills convert more 3rd downs, B. more targets per game to Sammy & Clay, C. Tyrod hits receivers in the middle third of the field. D. better red zone results. E. some controlled scrambles by Tyrod from time to time. If this guy can be creative enough, not meaning trickeration, creativity in both some runs and passes mixed in with good old smash-mouth play, then we might have something. If not, then its just going to be more of what we've already seen over the last 16 years, sub 500% football. FWIW, that's my take.
  13. It's the 16 years of it, FireRex. The NFL have made it easier for bad teams to get better quicker than what it was in the 90's. Bills fans realize this, but still the Bills stay stuck in mediocracy. Four years of rebuilding would be too long for some people, but 16 years and counting? Too much.
  14. Both true points, but he did coach his team to 10 wins. I feel that's closer to being a playoff level team than 8 - 8.
  15. I think the biggest difference in this game are the coaches. Bowles (sp?) way better than Rex, IMO. But I'm going with my heart in this one, plus the fan energy at New Era - Bills!
  16. Incredible, isn't it. He's going to change it up though. Instead of singing "the dolphins make me cry" he's going to sing "the Bills make me cry." I hope the Bills offense lights it up Thurs. night!!
  17. "Burning Jerseys" wasn't that the name of that British campaign when they were chasing Washington in the Rev War?
  18. Yours & PTR's post right in front of you hits on a theory that a friend once told me a few years ago. He wasn't trying to be vicious, but he said that the franchise resembles more like a AAA baseball team. We sign a good player, he has a few good seasons to showcase his talent, but before his rookie contract is over, things happen, his performance slips. Then when he signs with another team, he plays great. You throw in mediocre coaching, he said, and after 2-3 years, the franchise fires him & they're back to square one. That new coach raises the fans' spirits, but 3 years later, they continue to post sub- 500 seasons, and the cycle continues. Players see the Bills, he added, as a team that just can't get it done, and thus, they don't want to "waste" their time staying in Buffalo, a team that never has a shot at the playoffs, let alone the SB. It just seems too coincidental to be just an accident. Flame away.
  19. My biggest is the obvious one : getting some sort of pass rush by the Bills D. Maybe we can do it by committee for this week & the first several weeks. A close second concern for me goes to all 3 squads: getting into double digit penalties for the game. Obviously, both of these issues are concerns all throughout the season. Go Bills. Good play on words.
  20. Bills D: 1. their ability to pass rush and, 2. penalties.
  21. No communication problems this time w/ the Bills D, and Tyrod is primed for his return to Baltimore. Bills get the W. I don't care about what score.
  22. Thanks Jack. After 8 years, we can call it a tradition.
