Teams in front of the Bills for a playoff spot? NE, Steelers, Oak, KC, Texans, Balt, very possibly the Fish & Tenn. We've all been here before during the off season, and the anticipation always goes up after free agency, then the draft. Check in on this by the end of Thanksgiving weekend, then we'll know who the 2017 Bills really are.

You mean end of an error More like the end of an error. Good luck EJ.

Transplantbillsfan, congratulations on putting the longest post EVER on the board! This one will never be broken. Mainly, his ability to extend plays. But man, he's got to improve his game in other areas if he wants to help the Bills get to & win some playoff games. Things he needs to step up his game on: anticipating routes better where he gets the ball out quicker & lets the receiver run to the ball. Another one throwing to the middle of the field.

Thanks. Don't get me wrong, I hope he stinks up the place. That's what I've hoped for all Bills that go to other teams.

John, of course if you take B & B away they're a different team. But an offense that makes lots of plays & scores points motivates a defense. No, the Pats D is not the Steel Curtain, but they were good enough to help get them to the SB and win it(again) a few months ago. Offense helps defense & vice versa.

I hope I wind up being wrong , but I think Gilmore is going to be a better player in NE for 3 important reasons that Buffalo doesn't have. 1. better coaching, starting with BB 2. he'll have better talent around him on the field, that always helps. 3. the Patriots come into each season expecting to get to, and win the superbowl! Within the first 5 minutes of the first OTA this spring let alone during training camp, he'll know he's no longer in Kansas with toto. Throughout his career he's been with a franchise that hopes to get above 500% and has never made it but one time. The 3 points above are huge motivators for any athlete. The only drawback I see for him is that he's a bit fragil and may miss some games each season. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

True dave about the Broncos, but that's the exception, not the rule. The very fact that they've been in so many SB's in the last 17 yrs, plus those AFC championship games where they came up short, makes them the alpha dogs of the conference. And they are inside of coaches heads. Atlanta in the 3rd quarter showed that. You got to keep playing those guys aggressively and keep scoring on them when you got the lead because quite frankly, no lead is safe against those guys.

This! An excellent post, TFP.

Many of them don't like to talk about it. In 1994, 50 years after D Day, there were lots of special documentaries and national news coverage of D Day. One vet told, for the first time ever, he said, about how some of the Americans were cut down by German machine gun fire while trying to cross a road along the hedge rows. The German fire was so heavy, that the rest of our guys had to stay back. the road was littered with deas & wounded. Allied tanks were called up to push the Germans back so we could use that road. He said all of our guys that were laying in the road had no chance, and so tank after tank rolled over the same bodies for the rest of the day. That guy was sobbing uncontrollably because he had kept that in all those years he said. couldn't be rescude, and guys had to stay back & take cover.

I enjoyed that movie too. Who cares if its 40 yrs old, 4 weeks old, or 60 yrs old. If you enjoyed it a lot, that's what my question was. It ain't the movies is right. That claim spans generations. I've heard WWII vets, Vietnam war vets, right up to Iraq/Afghanistan vets say that. Movies just give glimps of what it's like.

Agree (wups, I wasn't supposed to say that.) I'm enjoying it too.

Thanks Johnny. I think I'll look into it.

Good post, DC Tom.

I need to re-acquaint myself with HH. Who stars in it?

Private Ryan was awesome. Another great job by Hanks.

This may have been done before, don't know. But... For me, Platoon. Although I didn't serve in Vietnam, I did served (1968-72) during the war, in the Air Force. There's many things in the movie that strikes a chord with me. Some of the terms they used were the same ones we used in the barracks & other places. Referring to the US as "the world", boo koo as lots of something and so on. The partying scene in the bunker was very much like I experienced. You had the "juicers" in one area, and the "pot heads" in other parts of the barracks. Thus, the music played in each place was decidedly different too. That scene where those guys partied to Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, I was one of those guys. Several of my high school classmates went over & fought. One buddy in my art class in hs was in Bravo company. All these years later, I look at that in an entirely different light. American Sniper from a few years ago runs a good second place.

Lynch, we need Lynch back too. And we can resurrect Lost-man as well. -

Say a prayer for Danny, my son....
RevWarRifleman replied to Nervous Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nervous Guy, I really feel your pain. I know this has got to be a hard time for you and I'm so sorry for that. But Danny has two things going for him right now. One is he's in the loving presence of the Lord now. The other is he's a Bills fan and lots of Bills fans that read your post will send their love to Danny and you. This is not lost on the Lord and he will make things better for Danny up there, and you and the rest of your family down here. God bless Danny, you and his family, and (what the heck) all other Bills fans. -
That's exactly it Major. Every August we get all psyched up about the season, make lots of predictions on the message wall, then over the next 3 months we see hit and miss football, only to sink out of contention in December. My departure from you is I think we can make the playoffs before 2020. We'll see.
