  1. Agree Bob. Hindsight being 20/20, trading away Lamonica was the beginning of establishing a tradition in Bills history. Making bad trades that came back & bit us badly. Go Bills though.
  2. If they start Kyle Williams tonight they're nuts! He's earned his stripes.
  3. Great post, Bob. Clearly you lived during that time too. They did have a great defense. Some have argued that if the SB existed in '64, '65, that defense would have held it's own against the Packers. Can't forget those AFL Bills. They were the pioneers. They were the guys that made the AFL a legit league.
  4. " He has all the vices I despise and non of the attributes I admire." I actually know some people that are like this.
  5. Nope, not the same old team. But some very key positions to fill ie: starting over at.
  6. Ahhhh, these threads. They always spring up this time of year, don't they?
  7. We lost because of 2 main reasons: A.We lack a deep threat receiver to stretch the field.( still a problem this year.) B. Tyrod is not a franchise QB, and point A puts more pressure on B.
  8. Yeh, that one. "He's good in space." Great. Then why isn't he working for NASA? Another overworked cliche, "Pound for pound, he's the best at his position." Pound for pound, what is he, a side of beef?
  9. Some of the over-used cliches on draft day. "He's a work out warrior." "He's a student of the game." "He's a high-character guy." "He ran a __ __ __ __ in the 40 yard dash." Non draft day cliche. "He just got caught up in the numbers game." (A usual reference to a 2nd stringer whose filling in for a starter and has made a good play or two in a game.)
  10. Nice input Haplo. I like it. But in the end, forget it, too early.
  11. I'm sorry, I'm drawing a blank on 17. Keven Everett's number? That Bill that's on the Wall of Fame for dying in 'Nam? Get me up to speed, please. O Line. If I were a QB or RB, I'd love to have you in front of me. Where would you want to play?
  12. Ah yes Conrad Dobler, Mr Clean himself. I'm sure he still has a few tricks and whip leg techniques he could show you.
  13. I know what you mean about "trying to be in shape." It gets harder & harder to try to keep up the regimen. Ahh, and why Namath? I put him down for his Hollywood connection back in the day. I went through High School in the 60's, even though I was a Bills fan, I thought that guy was God. I even painted by baseball spikes white in my senior year.
  14. Thanks. For me, it wouldn't make a difference, except for 0. What would be your number of choice?
  15. Sorry Hapless. I should have used a more specific title.
  16. I remember that game. Man, we had a defense that would really go after people. That hit was the turning point in the game. Who, or whom would you want to party with afterwards? Inquiring minds want to know. That, and any other thing people would like to include is perfectly fine.
  17. A random thought/fantasy to have a little fun with. Lets say that today, you're a young athlete at the peak of your physical strength. 1. Choose your position you would like to play in the NFL. 2. Now, pick a player or players from the past in the NFL or AFL to be your mentor at that position and explain why. 3. And when your practice session is over, what player from the past would you like have join you as you go out afterwards to party. For me: 1. Slot receiver, 2. Andra Reed, with a little bit of Ernie Warlick (yes, I know Warlick was a TE, but he was very effective over the middle.) 3.Joe Namath, Paul McGuire Talk about fantasy football!
  18. "Social equity" what's that? Is that where they factor in tailgaters leaping on table that are on fire?
  19. Too early to make such a prediction. Forget about it.
  20. Wide Receiver battle. Which one(s) can establish themselve(s) as a long ball threat. We need somebody that can stretch the field.
  21. Dark Period is right. Will be traveling in July. That always helps to take my mind off of NFL. When I come back from traveling I'll watch some CFL on ESPN 2, & keep tabs on the Bills injury report (hoping nobody gets really banged up) during pre season. Go Bills.
  22. How true, plus we don't have a Lombardi trophy. How many do the Packers have?
  23. Unfortunatelyy, Slammer, I see high wins from the east, in the form of the Patriots. Hopefully, in another year or 2 when we get more pieces in place, starting with the qb position, the Bills will be the dominant team in the AFC East. "Pickerman" lol.
