  1. If anything, Tuel may have reminded us that preseason games are played at the level of college post-season all star games. This was the Senior Bowl. The preseason games are played by guys hoping to make the roster and a few veterans trying not to get hurt. The REAL games are played by NFL players at NFL speed.
  2. I love the way Dan Carpenter laid out to stop the kickoff return. A real gamer Shades of the late John Leypoldt (Bills kicker 1971-76) who often went down field and made the tackle on kickoffs. (Never mind that his percentage on extra points as a Bill was only 93%... in those days OJ and the Electric Company scored so much ...)
  3. #22, deserves TWO game balls for today's heroic effort. Finally surpasses Andre Reed as my Favorite Bill Ever
  4. I agree. But I'd rather have used the Spiller 1st round pick for an OL or another star player at a position of weakness (instead of drafting a RB when we had two starters already). Then we wouldn't have had to trade Lynch and scratch our heads trying to remember why we drafted Tank Carder.
  5. The Bills got Tank Carder and Chris Hairston with the Lynch trade picks. Discuss.
  6. Or if they have an UDFA quarterback who is making his second ever start, their best receiver is inactive, their receiving corps has an average age of 19 and their vaunted defense has been getting crushed for 59 minutes.
  7. With Moorman back, they should have faked the PAT and thrown for the score. Remember this one? http://www.nfl.com/v...ay-Sneaky-Bills By the way, Ryan Denney, who caught that pass, is a Mormon, which made this possibly the first Moorman-to-Mormon TD pass in NFL history.
  8. I know it's against the Football Bible, but I'd have loved to see the Bills go for 2 to win the game after Goodwin's touchdown. I'll bet the odds of converting a 2 are no worse than the odds of winning (conversion rates on the 2 point try are near 50%; winning a game in overtime with a UDFA quarterback and your best receiver out and your defense having a bad day is probably less than a 50/50 proposition).
  9. Like I said in my post about Fred Jackson's fine last week, what has happened to football? Kyle jaws at a Cincinnati player for taking a cheap shot at one Williams' teammates (a cheap shot that should have been penalized) and Kyle gets 15 for taunting? Huh? Getting in someone's face is part of football, and protecting your teammates is part of all team sports. I really hate this stuff. Are players supposed to curtsey to the other team after every play?
  10. PS, with the kicker out, the punter became the FG kicker and someone else had to do the holding. On the next FG attempt at the end of the half, the new holder muffed the snap, got up and started to run and fumbled the ball which Tennessee ran back for a TD. Moral of the story: target the kicker for a big hit whenever you can
  11. I'm beginning to wonder what has happened to football. The idea that Fred Jackson needs to be fined for flipping the ball to a Browns player after a nice play reminds me of the time that Eric Moulds was penalized 15 for "maliciously spinning the football." What are they worried about, that someone's feelings might be hurt? If someone taunts you, just tell the recess monitor and have him reported to the principal. Baseball has a better system. You can taunt all you want, just be ready to bail out of the batter's box next time you're up.
  12. No, they ran a pure flea flicker when Tuel came in the game. The idea was to give him a chance to throw without too much pressure but he threw it into double coverage and he's lucky it wasn't picked.
  13. I can't remember the last time before the Cleveland game that the Bills ran a flea flicker. Anyone?
  14. I kind of enjoyed watching Fitz on Sunday, especially that touchdown run and the way he threw the ball in the air in celebration. Although what I liked most of all is that he wasn't wearing a Bills uniform.
  15. Reminds me of the buzz kill when they named Buddy as GM and Chan as coach
  16. By signing Moorman, the Bills can save a roster spot by having him be both P and QB. Do you realize what his career passing statistics look like? 3/7, 68 yards, 2 TDs, quarterback rating of 117.9 Compare that to the stiffs they're bringing in for qb tryouts.

  18. I wonder why he's behind Tuel on the depth chart. Maybe because he's an UDFA who has appeared in 1 game in his career and was cut by 3 bad teams?
  19. Second time this season that Marrone the the challenge flag when there was no review to be had. What's up with that?
  20. +1 And for one game a year, not a whole month
