Being the Bills Fan since '64, allow me to bring in some historical perspective here... From today's Democrat & Chronicle: 3 Quarterbacks in Bills history to top 300 yards in his first start for the team. Kyle Orton joined Dennis Shaw (1970) and Vince Ferragamo (1985). Not exactly names you'd hear in the streets of Canton.

Not one poster has said these guys were wrong in their analysis of EJ

They were a year late taking a QB. I remember a lot of people thinking they would take a QB in 2012, could have had Cousins or Wilson in the 3rd round. Or Jeff Tuel.

The problem is the guys who wrote the article turn out to have been spot-on.

Against Miami, in the third quarter after we answered their long FG drive with Spiller's TD kickoff return, Miami came right back down the field and scored again. Being a grizzled old Bills fan, I thought to myself, "OK, this is where we go 3 and out, our exhausted defense gives up another score to let Miami back in the game, and at the end we'll lose but we'll be able to think that it was a 'good loss." Then I thought about it again, and said to myself (I was watching the game alone) "Wait, this is where good teams distinguish themselves from mediocre teams. Are these the Good Bills or the Bad Bills? If they take back control of the game now, maybe, just maybe, this team is going to make us forget the Gailey/Jauron/etc. years, maybe this can be a good team." The results speak for themselves. If they continue to play with character and resolve, it may just be fun to watch Bills games again, win or lose.

Good thing Hackett can read this thread before the game. It's a big advantage for him having this experienced advice.

TJ is only the world's worst football player of all time of the year. In previous years, we had many other worst football players of all time: John McCargo Aaron Maybin Mike Williams (the OT) JP Losman And that only goes back a few years.

Terry Pegula is NOT a poor man. We need a rich man's EJ.
