  1. The big problem is what you wrote in your signature about Fred Jackson: He is the epitome of a true Bill; giving his all every game through losing years. What should truly epitomize our football team is that we have great winners, not great losers. If Kyle Orton was anything more than a warm body, he needed to win the KC and Miami games (especially KC, which was in his grasp with one decent throw to an open receiver in the end zone.) In fact, Orton came just as close to beating KC this year as Tuel did last year. Chew on that for a while (while considering that last year's KC game was a nice-to-have while this year's was a must-have)
  2. I agree. You can argue all you want about who should be playing this position or that, or who should be HC or whatever. But amid all of the worst-to-first turnarounds we've seen in the NFL, the Bills have languished because they've been run so poorly. That is the one constant over 15 miserable years (and, really, ever since the Bills were founded except for a 3 year period in the 60s, a 5 year period in the late 80s/early 90s and a decent run when OJ was at the top of his game in the mid-70s). I'd swap Saints blues for Bills heartache any day. Let's hope that new ownership can change this franchise down to its core.

  4. Look, Mike had a great run (6 NBA rings and even a stint as a minor league baseball player) but he's old, and anywaywho can be sure hed be good at football? Will is dead, he got shot in the courtroom. Haven't you been watching? Sam got cut by 2 teams. He wasn't NFL material, just got taken with a throwaway 7th round pick for social, not football, reasons.
  5. Interesting article by Bill Barnwell with plenty of Bills mentions. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-possibly-intriguing-nfl-qb-trade-market/
  6. Don't forget that we traded up to take TJ Graham over Russell Wilson
  7. The refs probably think he's Jim Haslett, and everyone hates Jim Haslett. He should change from 55 to 97, like Cornelius Bennett did (probably for the same reason)
  8. The Bruce Smith/Cornelius Bennett/Darryl Talley defenses were spectacular, particularly in 1988.
  9. It would be nice to see someone (local business leader? fan leader such as Chevy?) set up a foundation to provide for ex-Bills in need. But unlike a one-off for Darryl Talley, it would need to be a professionally run outfit with proper auditing and legal precautions, and with a board of directors that can make allocations in a fair and consistent way. Ultimately it would have to be in close coordination with the Bills and particularly the Pegulas. If I didn't live 6,000 miles away I'd volunteer to work on it (I'm a lawyer but I moved overseas 25 years ago). That's the kind of thing that ought to follow this wonderful occurrence.
  10. This thread has brought out the best from Bills fans. And the worst. For the former, thanks ChevyVanMiller. For the latter, thanks mrags.
  11. Can you increase the limit beyond $100K? You're gong to blow right through it.
  12. If you want to do something, give some $ to the fund that ChevyVanMiller set up. There are lots of other ways to do it but the fact is that here is an opportunity to do SOMETHING rather than sit back and wait until something "official" comes along which may or may not ever happen. And let's leave the Kellys alone, haven't they endured enough and given enough back to the team and community? Hats off to ChevyVanMiller for this initiative. I decided to put my money where my mouth is (for a change) and I hope all of you will do the same.
  13. A fund for someone who got his brains beat out so you could watch games for free on television and criticize his ass when he missed a tackle or didn't do what you're sure you would have done if only you were out there... YES, INDEED
  14. The Bills have just as many wins at The Henry (Ford Field) as they do at The Ralph this season. How odd is that?
  15. If I'm the coach, none of my skill players on offense can wear long hair unless they tuck it in their shirt.
  16. One of the disadvantages of watching games with the Bills Backers of Israel (which is me alone in my basement unless my buddy Mel drops by) Tasker could have called that game better but for some inexplicable reason they had him trolling the sidelines and interviewing Roger (which was about as good as watching him play wideout instead of special teams - stick with what you do best!) On that tangent, wouldn't it have been nice for Roger to say "I grew up in Bills country and I know all about deep snow. My heart goes out to the people of Western NY" ??
  17. The game calling of Spero Dedes and Solomon Wolcotts was (as usual) so bad on Monday night that I thought about it and came up with an explanation: they were watching a different game on their monitors than the one we saw. Maybe they watched the Bizzaro Bills against the Bizzaro Jets. Some examples: Bills runner loses the ball, the ref signals down-by-contact, and these geniuses say "It looks like the Jets have recovered the fumble but there's no indication from the official yet. "Aaron Williams made the first interception of his career." (Unless you count the one against the Jets only 4 weeks ago) "The Jets will return home after the game and hope that their stadium is ready for their game against Cleveland" "Doug Marrone sends in his punt team." (It was the FG unit, we were on the Jets 35 yard line in an indoor game...) Any others?
  18. Move it to 'cuse, Doug has a home field advantage there
  19. Let the record show that I cut Tate from my fantasy team a few hours before the Browns did
